It's definitely a 1500 series truck, or should I say that's what it started as...lol...

The reason it was built on a 1500 platform was because it started as a bet. A friend that owns a salvage yard bet the owner couldn't get the truck running and tagged for the street in 1 year, if he did get it done he didn't have to pay the $5000 for the motor and trans. We had an 88 Chevy 1500 in my storage lot, so that's what it started as before he started building it.

  • Hope thats a king pin front and not a ball joint.

  • .... not possible for it to be a 1500. need to change your description... more likely a 3500...

  • sick truck man, one problam though..they didnt give you enough track to run haha

  • That is a sweet truck man, Looks like you have it turned up substansially too.

I am putting a 12 valve in my 72 chev, relaly cant wait to get it running.

  • got Nos?

  • thats a sweet truck it pulls great

  • so itl tow a boat ok then

  • Fuck Yeah!!!!

  • why take a 1500 and convert it to a dually and a diesel why not just buy the dually then convert it to a cummins>!!>

  • Gavin its Ben, is this your truck?

  • its a 6.7 not a 6.5.

  • its not a 6.7 its a 5.9 12valve

  • @douger0500 If it was a 6.5 it would be on a wrecker at the end of the vid

  • ale tam silnik i reszta dostają po dupie... ale efek super ;D jak ktoś ma kase to mozna szalec ;)

  • its a cummins

  • lol dmax....king......not

  • so this is a 6.5 right because if it is its bad ass 6.5

  • that trucks set up just right for towing it didnt even break a sweat really fun to watch a truck pull that easy nice job

  • Perfect truck. That is the first I have seen of its kind. I have been wanting to convert a chevy to a straight front axle and a cummins.0

  • its funny the guys that dont acknowledge duramax as a solid truck. dmax powered trucks have been winning just about everything lately from sled pulling to drag racing to high hp competitions. neither dodge or ford has the tuning capabilities of efi live. with efi the dmax is king.

  • thats fuckin sick nice truck

  • That's a mean 6.5. lmao

  • DUDE! thats the Elks Club!!! i live right next to it... i think i may have heard that going! ok well i can see the elks through the trees from my house! thats sweet!

  • at least chevy boy knew what engine he needed to get the job done. cummins all the way!

  • nice truck Must have taken a good amount of work to do. Didn't you have to strengthen the 1/2 ton frame or anything.

  • thats not a 1/2 ton. thats a 3500

  • read the description it says 88 1500. He put the duals on and changed the front grille to look like a 94-99.

  • ohh yeah ur right. why the hell would he do that. just buy a little truck to make it look like a big one. must have cost him way more. and he shoulda just bought a dodge with a cummins instead of piecing a truck together

  • agreed

  • Thanks everyone!!!

BMiller, the truck has a Dodge 47RE automatic, it's the stock trans that comes in the Dodge's...

  • wut tranny is in it

  • Jesus, that soot's blacker than the truck!

    Love it =]

  • i love the look of the older chevy duallys there badass and with a 12v cummins it in, damn nice truck

  • I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and we love the truck man especially the cummins under the hood. Many thanks for the vids GDownes

  • This is a great idea! Light weight frame, dually traction, and the best diesel engine ever made! Sweet

  • love the truck man especially the cummins under the hood. i will drive cummins power until i die or until obama thinks they should be made anymore haha. i got a 06 im going to put some vids of her rollen some coal real soon on here. thanks for the sweet vid.

  • Thanks for the compliments guys...

Anybody that thinks Cummins motors suck are more than welcome to hook up to it??? We're in Wilmington Delaware 19808, and we are always ready for a good tug-o-war!!!

  • Highly doubt you can beat this duramax power bro. i think he would rip the frame right from under ya!

    /watch?v=bLOtnMSOCMI

  • that aint no duramax dude.. its a detroit... duramax sucks ass

  • i agree i was looking at getting a ford but just cant bring myself to getting the powerstroke i wish that they could make a truck with ford style and cummings motor would be perfect.

  • Love That Truck!

  • its all about the cummins baby!!

  • come on A Dmax is better dan a Cummins

  • The truck was built before Chevy was even using the Duramax...

  • @GDownes yea they used Detroit diesels

  • why didnt you just put a 6.6 duramax in it man??? keep it chevy... those d-max's are kickin ass now days, easily keep up with cummins half of them kick the cummins ass

  • duramax isnt a chevy motor its made by isuz.u

  • The Duramax is General Motors' diesel engine family for large trucks, designed by Isuzu. The 6.6 liter Duramax is produced by DMAX, a joint venture between GM and Isuzu in Moraine, Ohio. However, in 2006, GM sold its entire stake in Isuzu ending the relationship. GM now has no connections with Isuzu. GM is now the sole maker of the DUramax. The 6.6 liter Duramax engine is the most reliable HD Pickup Truck diesel engine in the market according to the result of independent customer surveys.

  • isuzu doesnt make the duramax motor, they designed it and then the contract ended in 2006 and now GM makes the motors them selves in morraine ohio

  • @Puddelz69 the d max is is an isuzu motor not chevy and u can keep ur jap diesel thank u

  • @jonesd5o the first 2 years were the only time isuzu made the duramax. GM bought duramax designs and has updated and built the motor every year since 03

  • @Puddelz69 You are a funny guy thinking dura trash can kick the shit out of a Cummins HAHAHA !!!.....You should be a comedian, don't see too many videos around to support you wet dream !!

  • It's a 47RE built by Del-Trans in Newark Delaware, stock rebuild, but it's been holding up to that for a while... The torque converter is a ProTorque, they are really great converters, I've got one in my Dodge now too... The HX50 is a weird one, the exhaust housing is huge so the turbo takes forever to spool...

  • do you live in DE because i do..i think iv heard of the place you said built trans

  • all that has is a torque converter huh? on what kind of tranny? was it a 47RE cuz those dont hold up fer shit and that HX50 is looouuudd as fuck sounds more like twins

  • As far as conversion help, I really don't know what to tell you... This was a one off truck that was built a long time ago, but I know now they make kits so everything bolts right up... I'll tell you what, now's a great time to buy trucks, I'd just buy a Cummins Dodge and call it a day...lol...

  • The 6.5 Chevy Diesels will never make anywhere near the power of a Cummins with out tons of money invested... Also, duallies don't really have much of a traction advantage when it comes to pulling... It's just 2 extra tires that you have to take air out of, but you can't really fit too wide a tire on a duallie like you can a single tire axle truck... The motor is stock, with a upgraded p-pump, DDP4 injectors, and an HX50 turbo. Stock trans with a ProTorque converter... Cummins power baby!!!

  • dullies have such an advantage tho. the get way better traction

  • thats not true

  • Sweet ass truck! Do you have any tip or suggestions on doing a conversion like this? I want to put a 5.9 into my 84 GMC THANKS!!

  • way don't you beef up a 6.5 like the cummins? I know cummins are good motors. I have owned the 6.5 and liked it also. I was a great motor

  • you will never get the power out of a 6.5 like you will a cummins

  • I'm gonna do a swap like that one day but i want a '95 Chevy dually with a four dour cab for the swap and drop in a twin turbo Cummins

  • its a 12 valve what else did you expect. sweet ass truck

  • Did you see that smoke?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

  • Rollin Coal.

  • that truck is a boss...lots of tourqe

  • nice truck, I'm planning either a 2 stroke Detroit or a 4bt Cummins built in my obs chevy.
