Back in 89 I went to see Pinetop at the Grand Emporium in Kansas City. I had just brought a brand new Harley-Davidson, and when the band took a break I went outside to just look at it. A couple seconds later out comes Pinetop for some air. He looked at the bike and said who belongs to this, and I told him it was mine, and he said Boy! thats a white boys cadillac, a poor black man gets a Caddy and a poor white boy gets a Hog. Its now a priceless memory. Bless you Pinetop

He played for Morgan Freeman at the Kennedy Center Awards. With Willie Big Eyes and Bob Stroger and Lil Frank.. BB brought his band but MORGAN gave Pine a standing O when CLINT walked him back onstage! Morgan was waving and shakin his head.. SO HAPPY. so great.. Hey Pine.. how's the weather? Need a caddie chauffeur? Check your hatbox..I left the number! We went to D.C. in the 90's for PINETOP's presidential props. GO PINE.. Take care of this man.. South Bend misses you Pine.

I saw Pine Top at Oskar Blues in Lyons Co. around 2000. He put on an amazingly lively show despite having to interrupt the set to be helped to the bathroom for a break. It was priceless seeing energy that young in a body that age.
