  • I see people installing these aftermarket steering dampers....but why? Most bikes already come with them.

  • Is it possible to put a steering damper on a ninja 250? Or would it cost too much money? And would it help out during freeway riding?

When I'm on the freeway my front wheel seems to vibrate and I feel the grooves on freeway.

  • It is because yamaha is only for experienced riders. HAHA

  • you talked about the importance 40 seconds, and then all the rest of motorbikes

  • NEEN JA

  • how many times do you think he says damper?

  • this video could be much more interesting if you speak faster.... anyone could say the same thing that you said in 0:22 to 0:45 in 5 seconds....

  • Why would people dislike this go make your own fucking video loser and i am so sure that people who dislike this video not even own a motorcycle maybe they are just little 13 years boy.

  • waste...

  • Should rename this video to "who has and has not got steering dampers"

  • Btw, Steering damper(dampener) DO NOT stabilized a bike. It simply a prevention of an event during high speed riding. And that's when your front tire floats (not off the group). Something like it just skimming through during acceleration. And during that time, if you front tire hit something or an imperfect road, it will react by correcting it self hence you get a wobble or tank slapper

  • @zero. All bikes needs a damper(dampener) especially high performance motorcycle. Even pro's use them. Now just because a bike didnt came with one don't mean it can't benefit from it. Anyway, good vid for the beginners. But ppl don't hate. My accent is not that great either lol

  • thanks for the explanation. helps a lot for beghinners.

  • @takeshijames23 Yeah, I wonder why sport bikers drive into parking lots at 80mph. Now I understand! Strategic!

  • total bs !

R6 doesn't need a dampner because it was designed with out one, it's all in the geometry of the bike.

Steering dampers are a security blanket for bad rider input or bad suspension setup. The better the rider the less steering damping he/she uses for 1 reason only.... So they can FLICK the bike as fast as possible to enter the turn as late as possible to get on the throttle as early as possible and point the bike towards the exit as early as possible.

  • @ZeroBoostBuick I am glad someone understands this.

  • @ZeroBoostBuick Forgot though its DAMPER not DAMPNER dampner is not a word.

  • If you talk with CSS teachers, most of them will explain you that the steering damper is not a solution, the solution is to learn how to ride, relax your arms and the bike stabilize by itself. With the price of a GPR you should pay a Level 1 training day.

  • 100% fucking worthless. 5 minutes of my life wasted. and it damp-n-er not dampar

  • @50king4life --- oh ur welcome. come back again soon. Here is a dollar, go buy a friend loser. LOL!

  • @50king4life Dude it's actually Damp-e-r not DAM-P-E-R people like you I can tell you don't get any women huh? lmao

  • @50king4life Why would you need to get the steering wet?

It's DAMPER: 1. One that deadens, restrains, or depresses.

  • @50king4life ur so freakin stupid dude. it is called damper not "dampner" haha wow ur dumb...

  • @50king4life

"Dampner" isn't a word, big boy.

  • @50king4life No, its not "dampNER" that would mean to make something DAMP (moist)..it is called a damper

  • @50king4life You aren't making your steering wetter. Thus, not "dampening" it.

  • r6 is still the best.

    boom roasted.

  • @ rheaMDC21 maraming salamat po ride safe Bro =)

    from Philippines =)

  • ser thank you sa video nyo tanung ko lang pakit mas prone ang mga bigbike sa steering wobble kaysa mga underbone or scooters salamat po :)

  • @den331 -- high speed ang mga superbike. masyadong mabibilis kaya minsan na a out of control. scooter/mopeds mabagal lang ang takbo.

  • does 2002 gsx r600 has a damper?

    im considering buying it

mind if you help me check?

  • Does this allow you to take both hands off the bike and keep the bike straight?

  • Wow! This video really is informative. Great job. ^_^

  • I had a Tank Slapper on my Aprilia rs250 a while back, very scary and could have been avoided if the damper I had was fitted :(

  • deeply appreciated as you the only one who made a video explaining how a damper works...good job.

  • is it necessary on a 125 cc too? like Yamaha YFZ 125, or Honda CBR 125?

    (15- 30 bhp)

  • very informative :) and i would go with "wide power" rather than "ohlins" they are almost the same tho... almost ;)

  • good job tol...

  • I have experienced the shake during hard turns. I have one on video in slow motion. I don't know what Yamaha's thinking is.

  • dosent the damper also help if you get wobble from ur front fork

  • @VegetasRage ----- yep

  • Dude no offence but you do not know much about riding like the typical person that goes out and just buys a bike. Go to some professionally taught classes and learn the truth not this BS stuff you just said for five minutes.

  • dosent the damper also help if you get wobble from ur front fork

  • I was riding with a fellow friends yesterday who has been riding for over 5 years and its my second year, he was taking it easy but still i could not catch up to him on high way and one time there was a sharp turn where i was going pretty fast and soon as the turn came i couldnt make a proper turn i was dome enough to hit my from brakes and my wobbled almost hit the car beside me but got my control back... but @rheaMDC21 you make great educational videos sometimes got any good tip?

  • @StuntRider00 --- ride at an average speed. hehehehe.... ride slow. hehe

  • @rheaMDC21 Why would people dislike this go make your own fucking video loser and i am so sure that people who dislike this video not even own a motorcycle maybe they are just little 13 years boy.

  • Great video! Yamaha is a bit behind for that! Very dangerous on that light bike!

  • Great video!
