Nice demo! I use it all the time for a notepad replacement and I program perl in it, but I don't know half of the powerful features and capabilities that I should.
For hard core programming why use a text editor anyway, that's what IDEs are for like Netbeans which supports almost every major language known to man and is immensely powerful.
i like notepad a LOT more.

Also, if you're programming in Java, I suggest you use Eclipse IDE.

How do you turn on autocomplete? I've been trying to get it to turn on but I can't understand the faq

@doorwindow7 It's probably missing the language definition file. I put a new link in the description to the ones I made.

How to do stuff from this video on windows? Holding Ctrl while selecting don't turn text into column of text.

@ilikepez I think it is closely related to Notepad+ for windows. One of many that (re)use the Scintilla editing component.

I'm presently using Gedit on Linux, but after this video I have download SciTE and will give it a try, it looks very interesting.

Its SciTe is short for Script Editor.
Yes, it can be used as a text editor, but essentially a script editor.

ultraedit ftw on windows.
It's user friendly and as powerful as any other text editor aimed at power users.
