  • Calm down everybody. It's just an opposum.

  • Yeah, I wouldn't have touched it. maybe put out some food, but definitely not touched it. I've seen some baby possums before, and THAT one looks very unhealthy.

  • opossums are less likely to carry rabies than other mammals like canids and felids. because they are marsupials they arnt really affected by the virus

  • His hair looks better than mine in the morning!

  • You're damned if you do and damned if you don't heh?

Nice vid. Hopefully he lived a long and happy life, but if he didn't, well....shit happens.

One animals misfortune's another one's survival.

  • it's funny how big it;s head is in proportion to the rest of it's body lol

    so cute :)

  • possums only live to be like 2. so you did not do anything bad by not haleping him

  • He probably found the jaws of a nice domestic cat. Then was left as an offering at that nice cat's owner's front porch.

  • yup hes not a baby, mom has 13 of those and once they got about 7 inches long they all start falling off and going out on their own.

  • That's not a baby. Thats a young adult. He may seem small but once hes gone from momma ( He looks about the right size) he'll grow faster. Don't worry :)

  • I like to run over them!

  • does anyone realize that the animals name is spelled with an "o" in the beginning

  • not in new zealand or australia

  • @BobbingForHeads really, thats odd....hmmm, well shame on me for not knowing the facts before i spoke....cheers have a nice day

  • lol no worries

  • Aussie possums are better haha :P

  • that's not a baby :) he's juuuust about old enough to be on his own. They only have a one-year life span, can you believe that? Only THREE years in captivity! They just aren't meant to last long... :(

  • @onionhouse That short of a lifespan huh. That's rather odd for a creature that is, after sharks and bacteria, the oldest living animal on the planet.

  • @ursavostock Oldest living animal? What planet are you from lol. What about crocodiles. All reptiles for that matter. And bugs. Amphibians. ALL those things are older than opossums... which are mammals.

  • @onionhouse Yep after a little online research I had grossly remembered my facts incorrectly. Possums only go back 70 million yrs. Which isn't bad but reptiles go back 300 million. Though possums have changed very little over that time.

As far as what planet Im from it would be to same one you are. I hope you can forgive my imperfection. And stating the obvious, that theyre mammals, was a bit unnecessary as well.

  • This is darling. What is a mammal? teee heee.....just kidding:-)

  • Actually, some opossums have been known to live up to 8 years in captivity! I sure hope the little guy did okay. I'd have kept it until it was a little bigger personally.

  • it is a known fact that possums often suck dick

  • Just like you!

  • You are a stupid freak!

  • CALL PETA

  • PETA would kill it and say they were only being humane. Just like the y did with the family of newborn kittens who people were planning on adopting.

  • i dont want to have to TERMINATE possums time on earth ,however i cant live with POSSUMS in roof

  • the possums moved in my roof , i have to extriminate my home

  • Poor little future roadkill.

  • RABBIES

  • Phillydemocrat you're a dumbass. Possums have too low a body temperature to carry rabies. Don't be such a fucking idiot and check the facts before opening your suckhole..

  • lol spelling

  • Mother Nature grants us instinct; my little possum would "hunt" snails. They have to be able to in order to survive.

  • SOO CUUTE((:

  • what is up with you people commenting? just because you see an animal walking around doesn't mean you need to "take care" of it. animals are pretty good at taking care of themselves, in case you folks haven't noticed. that's not a very young baby either. if its old enough to get off the mother and fend for itself, there's no need to mess with it. unless you WANT a pet possum. and clearly these people did not.

  • baby oppossum and rat are looking alike same animal body

  • You all need to be nice to eachother.. did you ever think maybe there is a reason it is lost? If it is sick or can't keep up with its mother she will leave it. And it is spelled OPOSSUM. Mothers leave there babies to go mate also and come back to where they left them, also it looks old enough to fend for its self which my be why it is with out a mother. Natures way!!

  • there are two ways to spell it.

  • you should have helped him

  • Yeah but he would've got rabies

  • Not every wild animal has rabies ya dumb fuck! These stupid fucks should have helped it!

  • You mean feed it leftover food

  • Opossums do not get rabies, they are very smart and well behaved creatures.

  • cute

  • Hey,

Why not you just keep feed to baby opossum for while when were get to become as adult opossum then release them or KEEP IT for pet!

  • awe if i were there i would have picked it up:) its just soo cute:P

  • @gangstahgurl69 yeah and it would bit your hand open...they're not as cute as the look

  • i meant, i hope he is ok

  • you should have pick him up and feed him! It was a baby they need to be looked after not just left to defend for themself OR watched for a week!!

  • slightly too evil?

  • I hope your older 13 year old brother kicks you in the ass.

"Crazy" my ass... you're a clown who needs attention. I hope you find it in Juvy... I hope you find A LOT.

  • Possums can't carry rabies. The virus can't survive in their bodies, due to their low body temperature.

  • The mother possum leaves there children for about 2 days when she is looking for food

  • They do not "leave" their babies to hunt for food; the babies ride on their back, and this one has just fallen off. He might be old enough to make it on his own; I can't really tell his size. The rehab places release them as early as one to two pounds.

It is almost impossible for an opossum to have rabies, unlike racoons,(can carry it for 2 yrs w/o symptoms), and squirrels, dogs and cats, and some people:o)

I'd give it some cat food.

  • Mom keeps the babies in her pouch (yes, they are a marsupial) and when they are old enough, they hang onto her fur and go wherever she goes.

  • lovely

  • type baby possum in search engine...watch second listing(the one of 9:26)...then look in the mirror
