She was giving birth to Naruto and when she did Tobi showed up killed all ANBU on guard (kushina's seal was weakest during birth) and took Naruto hostage, Minato saved Naruto but Kushina was stolen as a result. Tobi released the 9 Tails and set it up to destroy the leaf! Minato traveled to her location trying to lead the 9 Tails to Kushina. Using his sealing jutsu put it into Naruto costing both their lives as human shields.

Kushina ist wegen ihren schweren Wunden und dem enormen Chakraeinsatz ums Leben gekommen

Als der Kyuubi erkennt was geschieht versucht er Naruto zu töten aber Minato und Kushina springen dazwischen und der Kyuubi durchbohrt beide mit einer Klaue (Fingernagel ka wie ich das am besten beschreiben soll).
