If carbon dioxide displaces oxygen, why are you able to breath and still be able to detect carbon-dioxide in the air? Obviously, because oxygen does indeed mix with CO2.

Of course concentrations vary with altitude, but regardless there is still a layer of carbon dioxide creating an insulating barrier to the radiation of heat from the earth after a day's baking in the sun. Should this concentration become too high, it will result in an imbalance, heating the planet - like air in a greenhouse.

It's like a psychic who throws lots of guesses out there - they only quote the hits. If we all listened to Ken, somewhere, pretty much anywhere in NZ, there'll be an earthquake. He's also said that March should be safe for ChCh.

Until this theory pasts scrutiny (which it should, if it has any truth to it), I'm ignoring it.

One further thing; you attack climate scientists over the idea that CO2 gives off heat. !?!? That's a pretty gross misrepresentation Ken. CO2 is an insulator. No one is saying it gives off heat. By the way, the surface temperature of Mercury, closest planet to the sun, is 400 degrees celcius in the day but minus 170C at night because that planet has no atmosphere. However on Venus the temperature is a constant 480C day and night because its atmosphere is almost entirely CO2. Get some help man.

Wow, CO2 is too heavy to float huh? Water molecules definitely couldn't float then right but didn't you just say that at 8 miles or 30 000 feet you could see cirrus clouds - ice clouds as you correctly state - above you? Ice being formed of water molecules which are far heavier than air in a clustered frozen state. CO2 certainly does rise like water to very great heights Of course it probably drops but the global recycling process would maintain relatively stable levels of CO2. Adrian
