Very nicely compiled video, gets the message over well. btw what tis the track? I would class it as the genre 'blue-eyed soul' (of which Boz Skaggs is my favourite exponant) Again; great vid. Well done.
Excellent video. Very interesting to see the extent of the work south of Whitrope - quite extensive and much of it looking ready for track. Hope they make it. Steele Road - Shankend would be a nice run to say the least :)
This is an excellent video, really well put together. Many people just pass through this part of the country on their way north or south, but it is stunningly beautiful in it's own, gentle way.
Incidentally A70013, there was a proposal to relay the line from Carlisle to Riccarton and thence to Kielder about ten years ago, but I believe it was dropped as the price of wood suddenly fell due to cheaper Swedish pine on the market, which rendered the proposal economically unfeasable.
I love the Borders. It's beautiful up there. I'm so glad the Edinburgh - Galashiels rail reopening looks like it's got the go -ahead & I hope the line from Longtown to Riccarton / Kielder reopens for the log traffic.
Phew what with the proposed NG steam line along the edge of Kielder resevoir *and* the prospect of travelling down from Whitrope to Riccarton, it all looks very exciting up there! I wholeheartedly applaud the efforts of WRHA! Nice vid. & Good choice of music too!
They should reopen the line from Carlisle to the junction as the trees are reaching maturity and the roads wouldn't cope with the amount of log traffic.
Thank you so much for sharing. What a ridiculously short sighted decision it was to close the Waverley route.

While driving through nearby Steele Road, I said; "There's Arton Fell," Somebody in the car said: "Ant and Dec?"

To be honest, not sure what the music is now, Youtube replaced the original soundtrack due to copyright issues!

REinstate the entire lot. Hawick needs is now. The town is dying, it is only 50 miles away from Edinburgh, but it is still out in the sticks

Thanks for the vid. Much fine countryside now ruined by the planting of forestry.
Roll on the reinstatement of the Waverley route!
