Dude, you suck. I am cyclist, and I can tell you right now, that this is weak shit man. I do climbs that make this look like an ant hill...seriously. I have zero idea how you dare think you can call this "King of the Mountains" get a life. You aren't a pro rider, and this video is full of weak ass climbing. Post something with really hills or mountains not this shit.
Why dont you kids just stfu why dont you go up anywhere and film something to share with the world how easy is it to sit at home and talk shit to an existing video saying oh i do this percentage on hills and its arrogant to write a title like this and blah blah why dont you stop sucking so much cock and enjoy the video this man took time to film to share with other people or go make a better video showing us how good you are, why is there always got to be some self center fuck on this site
It doesn't matter the gradient of the hill - you just change gear. Pro cyclists don't lug high gears during a race (possibly during some training sessions). In a triple, a 7% hill is a piece of piss, but if the lowest gear is a 39/21 it's suddenly much more difficult.
Awesome, unfortunately I live in Missouri on the Great Plains so we don't have anything close to this. We have a bunch of beautiful roads and trails but this just kills all of that.
Beautiful scenerary . You are very lucky to go to this place and train. Some of the scenes look as though you are on top of the world. Background music was a good choice. I
That is a phenominal video. I live in the Sierra foothills near Sacramento CA and while I have decent areas to ride its nothing like that. I'm jealous lol. Good video and good effort you would probably smoke me!
My dad lives in Tenerife throughout the winter and it is amazing, especially up near Teide. I have to say though, adjusting your breathing from sea level to 8000ft (the base of the 12000ft Teide) is very difficult and cycling cannot be easy.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Despite fact he has road bike I never once saw him use drop bars. I would've been using drop bars on the decents and bombing it down real 'horror-show'! Could've reached 40mph!
A majority of roadies never use drop bars a majoirty of time - seems very impractical to me - flat bar road bikes all the way.
What is it with guys video who can't handle little bit of criticism - Franz Ferdinand listened 2 critics after 1st album, learnt from mistakes & produced wicked 2nd album - he's arrogant!
Thanx. I see it again and again, It inspired me, my life, and I hope, all cyclist see in my own this feeling, when I climb a rock - with bicycle...:D sure. I want more videos on this lone and high cyclist-life. :)
inspirador .. very emotive. make me motivate to take the bike...by the way i prefer GRan Canaria island to cycling... more levels roads and precious enviroments
I love the Polika dot "Best Climber" jersey. The fact that anyone can buy them now kind of takes away mystique from the legitimate one won at the tour though. Still love it though!
So he's prefers "toe" pedal stroke,Its a very individual thing,If you race and the results are good, nothing to get concerned about,Nice bike, great cycling and superb surroundings, awsm :).
I wonder why some people are so concerned with the pedal stroke, the gradient of the climb, so on? I'm a cyclist and I just appreciate the fact that somebody posted a beautiful video of this ride. It's difficult, to say the least to set this up, and it does a wonderful job inspiring others to quit yapping and start riding!
where abouts in tenerife where you, can i get your route? i have a time share in los gigantes, i recomend you ride through cos the rock faces are amazing and the hills are killers, a good 6/7 miles of 25-30%. good video this though A*
beautiful. thanks for posting! i'm at home, with a sprained ankle, not able to do a whole lot for a few days. glad to be able to get a vicarious ride on ;)
that bike looks sim to my bike i love cycling i pedle like 100mile a week split in to 2 rides and were i live in the penines it like 70% hills on my rout and ive been cycling for years now and it still kills me on the hills:(
A pity that this internet generation seems to have forgetten the old adage: "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"... I posted this video to show people Tenerife, not get criticised about my pedalling stroke. Do you notice that I'm not trying to win any races, I'm training for my own benefit?
Pedalling stroke looks fine to me. The guy's living the dream in paradise and you're just jealous. Keep it to yourself if you've got nothing good to say
Great video! Tenerife is such a beautiful island! This video was taken at at least 2000 meters, I guess! Perfect music, perfect video! Keep on rolling :-) Thank you for this one.
I was slowly climbing up a hill in the oakland hills in the east San Francisco Bay area when a kid, maybe 10 years old flew up the hill past me. I am out of shape, but still this kid was amazing. I have never seen anything like it... wonder who that kid was.
I mean, ok, it seems as if it was a very high located area, but the roads are not going up by more than 7%? and very constantly. That's no comparison to real mountains. You're a terrible narcist!
If you don't mind I'd like to ask where this will be? Of course I do not dare to claim you weren't a good cyclist or something. I just dislike the titel "King of the mountains" since it's terrible arrogant, especially when you look at this "mountains".
@victimoffate88 It's an accepted fact by all Tour de France cyclists that the one who wears the polka-dot jersey, is the 'King of Mountains." That is literally the title, in Tour de France. If you don't like the name you can take it up with them.
15% average or 15% top??:P and over what distance cuz a 300m 15% hill isn't all that extremely hard... its actually like a sprint (thats why Tom Boonen in the Tour van Vlanderen is always in the front even though on the last kilometers you have "De muur van Geraaldsbergen" which goes up to 19.5% but it's really short so he as a sprinter has a little adventage)
Well I haven't filmed that video yet, but I'm talking about a climb with an average gradient of 15% for the first 2km... you'll have to wait and see... Thanks.
clcik on me to see a trip to tenerife in spetember that i am planning. you will enjoy it for sure!although it is aimed at boxers, it will be ideal for cyclers too as it is in the same vicinity where the best cycle routes are.we will also make sure all the cyclists needs are accomodated. u may also take full advanatge of the full facilites. the price is very reasonable too.
AMAZING footage. That's a beautiful place to train. It reminds me a lot of Arizona. Thanks for posting it up!
