Your parent's reaction is understandable. I wouldnt' want any kid of mine to see a decapitation in a movie...even if it's a magic trick such as in this movie. Could give a youngster nightmares!
You are MUCH too modest, my friend. Like you, I find few new movies these days that get me as excited as the classics that I love from Hollywood's Golden Age. I too adore Hollywood-vintage. They had CLASS in those days. I'm no prude by any means, but the classic flicks from back then are proof that audiences can be entertained without the need to wallow in profanity or graphic violence or sex. THANKS so much for your thoughtful and sensitive comments! CHEERS! :-)
Heavens to Murgatroid! What a fascinating footage! I haven't seen this movie for years. I do recall reading that it's based on a William Inge play called "A Loss of Roses" (he's the successful 50's playwright who had "Come Back Little Sheba", "Picnic", "Bus Stop" & "The Dark at the Top of the Stairs" to his credit). He also won an Oscar for the screenplay for "Splendor in the Grass". Lots of familiar faces in this clip! THANKS so much for posting this for us to enjoy! CHEERS!
