  • @jcmgv2 May every soldier who is in Christ, have the courage to refuse to ever pick up a gun again. If Christ is our Savior, made incarnate & risen from the dead, then I believe anything he taught is authority over past teaching. Ex: "Love your enemies." These new teachings are what is called the New Covenant. Another part the message is the acceptance of non-Jews into the faith. If you study a little church history, simply "googling" would do, you will see that biblical scholars agree

  • @Norseman870 be "baptized" by being forcefully made to walk through a river. This is when Christians stopped being pacifist. Many Christian citizens no longer had a personal faith or heard true teachings. All they got was a stamp of the Church's mark on them and a few ritual services. I believe the official Church existed no longer to serve God anymore at this point but to serve to government by telling people to obey it. The faith tradition I'm a part is the Mennonites, a church

  • @Norseman870 out of the "Anabaptist" (Re-baptizer) movement. Anabaptists wanting to affirm their faith as adults in baptism, and formed independent bodies of disciples to seek God's will not the State's wishes. So anyways I just wanting to share my perspective. I'm really not trying to be a jerk, or disrespectful, or say that those who disagree with me aren't Christians. But I just think it's valuable for everyone (including myself) to see things from a new perspective & know fact.

  • @Norseman870 Non-violent resistance has been used by those such as who followed such leaders as Gandhi, or Dr. King, in situations where nothing else would work. In the Indian's case for example, they could not simply overpower one of the most powerful nations at the time, with force. They had to use civil disobedience. Dr. King said "Darkness (any form of violence) can't overcome darkness, only light can" --Peace of Christ to you, truly

  • @Norseman870 so just b\c i am a christian i should not defend myself and those i love?

  • @jcmgv2 I understand where you're coming from, but I believe are questions you could ask yourself that would seriously make you use reconsider what you believe. I'm not saying that you are less of a Christian because you perhaps have never thought of or known of such questions. Ex: 1) Is your own life more valuable than another's? 2) Who is it that you love (beyond special intimacy for friends/family)? 3) Is there currently a risk that you must actually defend yourself/others against?

  • @Norseman870 here is my take on these questions, plus a few more comments later. 1) "Love your neighbor as yourself." One of the early martyrs (Dirk Willems) of my church willingly forfeiting his life when he turned back to rescue a drowning pursuer. Williams was fleeing across a frozen lake when the man to was to capture him for being a "heretic" went through thin ice and began to drown. His rescued pursuer wanted to let Williams go, but the authorities on the shore made sure

  • @Norseman870 Williams was captured. If Williams had just kept running, he could have got away. But his conscience told him that he had to be as Christ to this man. (You can find a great illustration of this scene, on the web.) Maybe this man (who was possibly the one actually in danger of hell if he died) turned out like Saul>Paul. When Steven was being stoned, he prayed "Father, forgive them" blessing Paul. 2) As I Christian I believe I must love all people. To quote Paul

  • @Norseman870 "without love I am nothing." I can not kill another person in love. A sick irony to me to to consider Christians killing those who end on in hell, or to kill other Christians. This is what happened in say, WWI, Christians fought against other Christians, both told by their religious and gov. authorities that they had "God one their side." Yah right! Quit, go home or something. A good story about this, is what is called the WWI "Christmas Truce." How could Christians

  • @Norseman870 brothers kill other brothers who they see are just like them? WWI was only a matter of greed for power among competing governments that Christians should have refused to take part in. This leads to 3) which I could support all day, if you disagree just challenge me with a question if you like and I could give an answer. 3) The US, has been in many wars that were unnecessarily. The ones that have laid the must claim to being a "Just War" such as WWII were not entered

  • @Norseman870 humanitarian reasons (such as saving the Jews) but until the US had personal political reasons (Pearl Harbor.) Consider the writing of General Butler who fought Teddy Roosevelt's wars: " I spent 33 years … in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class thug for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism...I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American

  • @Norseman870 republics for the benefit of Wall Street...Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents." (Read the wiki article on him for the full quote. It's a long list of countries he abused.) The wars the US are in currently are regarded by much of the world as a sham, a crime. On Feb 15, 2003, 8 MILLION + people marched against the Iraq War. Leading up to the war

  • @Norseman870 Bush made a bunch of false statements such that Iraq had WMDs. The UN disagreed with these claims, and was still finding nothing when Bush ordered them out to bomb the place. The Afghan War has cost us more than the Afghan's GDP, and we've been in there for 11 years. It's our new Vietnam. If you study that Bin Laden and others said, they only attacked us because we messed with the middle east first. Sanctions we put on Iraq before the war cost the lives of 1/2 Iraqi

  • @Norseman870 children. Our policy with Israel has long been unjust. The Israelis refuse to give property rights to Palestinian people who's families have lived on their land for hundreds of years. Then they demolish these people's homes. I have friends who work with an organization called Christian Peacemaker Teams. One thing they do is walk Arab children to school, protecting them from harassment by Israeli soldiers/settlers

  • @Norseman870 ay bro, not here to get into a heated argument, bu ti had some opinions i thought you might like to at least consider and soome questions i was hoping you could answer. 1) i think that the us should have been more supportive of isreal. but when you talk about israeli soldier "squatters" and complain that the palestinians were there for hundreds of years i encourage you to read the book of Joshua. the jews are God's people. he made that land for them and the only reason that we have

  • @kaeldegrey I feel any Christian should feel saddened to hear other Christians talk about modern-day Jews as "God's Chosen people." So many of the worlds problems are due to ignorance and/or poorly-thought-out or selfish sin-driven ideologies. Some ideologies that I would consider to be this way would be feminism, militarism, materialism, and the residual view on issues of social welfare. Consider the peace the world could possibly know if everyone on earth realized

  • @Norseman870 1) that love for your country can (sometimes, MUST) involve speaking out against your government 2) could see some truth 3) had the boldness to speak out? I am dreaming about this, but if it were to happen the world would enter into its time of greatest peace ever. From there the free flowing of the gospel across borders would soon allow the entire world the chance (such as North Korea) to hear the gospel. I would be wrong if I were to believe I had all the answers

  • @Norseman870 ,but perhaps in our sharing, some truth will come to light.

When you read a book for knowledge, or debate that is what you are doing: seeking truth. Now, to the topic of concern: the choosiness of Jews. There was a times when that was so, but I believe it is clear from both a biblical and world-citizenship point of view, that that's just racism, today. Some arguments to support this. One could argue that after Jesus paid the final sacrifice, God let

  • @Norseman870 the temple in Jerusalem be destroyed out of displeasure that there were Jewish people who still made sacrifices. That would imply an end to favoritism. However some of the strongest arguments against Zionist beliefs come right from scripture. Here, I must pause. The main thing we are disagreeing over here is hermeneutics, the way in which we interrupt the bible. Some people have a "flat bible approach" which means they believe any scripture from the Bible has the

  • @Norseman870 direct authority. This means for ex. that that an old testament affirmation for "just war" is as good as or actually trumps new testament commands of Jesus for pacifism. I feel there are serious issues this view can not reconcile with. Some examples: would you see Leviticus rules as still applying today? What about rules that demand stoning Sabbath breakers or tell you the correct way to design clothes? I doubt you would. So why would you give a Leviticus law

  • @Norseman870 concerning homosexuality the same applicableness as a new testament scripture? (Yes, it is my firm understanding that the new testament stands against homosexuality --I am glad that I was never sucked into believing twisted interpretations of these verses. ) From my Jesus-centered interpretation of scripture It seems clear that some laws/ways of being were added to what God expected of his people, that weren't there in the earlier parts of Genesis. After the fall

  • @Norseman870 God attempted to redeem the world through a special chosen people, the Jews. But this didn't work, because of human sin. In the New Testament, Christ lays out a "NEW Covenant," which he seals with his blood for the whole world. Read Matthew 5:17-48 and let me know what your reaction is. It is an AMAZING passage! One thing that Jesus says in this passage is that " 38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.

  • @Norseman870 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. " Jesus continues on to describe nonviolent resistance tactics, later proven successful by people such as Gandhi or Dr. King. This verse showing that Christian pacifism is based on scripture. I believe it would very hard to try to twist Christ's words here into reconciling with Just War theory and that is not something I want to do!

  • @Norseman870 Research by prominent scholars shows that the early Church was unanimously pacifist under the time of Constantine. Look this up if you won't take my word. I would encourage you to do this actually: try to find out WHY they were pacifist. Back to my main argument: in the New Testament it is said that "In Christ, there is no Jew, Gentile, Greek. etc" (I will argue, in opposition to feminists, though, that this verse --doesn't-- label males/females for ex. as

  • @Norseman870 being the same but as being equal in their essence, in their value, before God.) It is dangerous to argue that equality means sameness. (Look at the moral blindness of "gay-marriage" for ex.) The apostle Paul argued with the early Christian over whether non-jew Christian should have to follow Jews laws such as being circumcised. I can't reconcile his arguments for the equality of non-Jew Christians with modern-day ranking of Jewish people in a higher chooseness

  • @Norseman870 than say, Christian Palestinians. If the modern-day nation that calls itself "Israel" is still a chosen nation of God, than I believe God would still be doing miracle for them and through them to the world. Why should an atheist Jew be given land rights over a Muslim or Christian Palestinian who actually has more Hebrew blood than the Israeli as some Palestinians, do? My logic is grounded in scripture and ethics not in politics. One thing that I believe is certainly

  • @Norseman870 wrong is the well documented human rights abuses by Israeli against Palestinians. There are regularly reported cases of where Israeli soldiers look the other way when Israeli settlers harass/beat Palestinians, sometimes even children. I could easily support this claim with documented evidence. The US should stop sending military aid to Israel. Overall finally, I believe that supporting a "chosen Israel" is unreconciled with good Christian world citizenship. It seems

  • @Norseman870 similar to supporting the KKK. How can we be a witness to the world if we do not lift up the redeemed equality of all in Christ? I believe that talking about Jews as "chosen" destroys this balance of equality by raising some higher than others. This is not to say that I have all the answers or that those who disagree with me are bad Christians. It's just that I can't reconcile my faith with violence and what I see as equality. I know I said "reconcile" many times,

  • @Norseman870 which was hopefully not too repetitive. I meant to emphasis how I just couldn't apply to my faith to the situations I wrote about without seeing the pairing of it with another certain thing as wrong, or unjustifiable/unexplainable. Thanks

  • @Norseman870 If you really want to go hard in studying these sorts of topics try listening or reading to the words of Martin Luther King. He was decidedly opposed to the Vietnam War and firmly spoke out for pacifism. Check out: .archive. org /search.php?query=creator%3A%22Martin+Luther+King%22

I could also sent you my highlighted text doc of one of his most powerful speeches on Vietam

  • @Norseman870 to deal with this arab nonsense is because when God explcitly told them to move into the land and wipe out the people there, they disobeyed. you may not like to hear this, but God is NOT pacifist. i never heard of a pacifist who wou.d set up his kindom with a "rod of iron" and check revelations dawg its plain, Armaggedon??! that Jesus coming in and slaughtering the entire earth minus what followers he has after the tribulation.

  • @Norseman870 now, as christians we're supposed to lift people up so i can't say anything more until i say you have deffinately doen you historical reasreach. i like that you know alot about what your talking about and your not just som ignorant hippie ranting and raving about peace and love just cuz you dont like war. that shows me that your reallly wanting to please God and you love him enough that you don't wanna do it halfway.

  • Q1) did you know that while you and all the other liberals condemn bush for being smart Obama has gotten america into 4 separate wars and yet he gets the nobel peace prize! and idk y you think the nazi's were christians but hitler used everything he could to rally the people, including saying he was down with christians. then when he had people in the place where he had totasl control he left all that and killed all the christian germans! and befor eyou start blaming people for not entering wwii

  • @kaeldegrey Well I'm not liberal. Also I'm not convicted about these other ideas. "4 wars?" Which are these? Hitler killing Christians? I've never heard of much of this except in the case of the execution of D. Bonhoeffer, who was part of an assassination plot, or in other cases of Christian resisters such as the White Rose. Christians have unfortunately taken part in many evil things throughout history such as the genocide in Rwanda.

  • for the wrong reasons lets consider a couple things. like the fact that we were in the great depression and the bible tell christians no tto go into debt. so in light of that, the us couldn't have entered wwii b4 they did biblically because we would have drowned in our own debt. kinda like we are now. and obtw, we did everything short of declaring war to help those on the side of jews. we sent humanitarian aid over there and the president made it possible for people to join the merchant marines

  • and pearl harbor wasnt the only politcal reason to fight. if it was only political, we had just cause to go into war long before that when a german submarine sunk a cruise liner killing sevral americans! now, thats just war. watch the movie "seargent york" its an old black and white with gary cooper and it deals on this exact subject of your loyalty to God and Country and why Christians can fight in wars. but now i wanna talk about personal killing. did you know th ebible laid down capital

  • punishment long before we ever had any such rules? God is very clear that we are to love our enemies and not to shed blook just to be shedding blood. i'm agreeing with you on that. but here's the thing. it also says that if a man kills another man, the murdered man's male relative may kill the murderer. ok? so here my personal conviction. i will not just kill to kill or for personal gain. but i have a girlfriend and Lord willing i'll make my wife in a couple years and if anyone trys to harm her

  • @kaeldegrey Death Penalty, huh? What about where Jesus stopped the Jewish religious leaders from stoning the adulteress? His statement "he without sin shall cast the first stone implies that no human authority should be given the right to execute people. The death penalty is considered unethical by most of the world. We don't do as good a job taking care of people in the US as most of the western world. Our residual view on welfare for ex. just doesn't work. Study others success

  • @Norseman870 the US looks terrible if you look at charts of various treaties (such as on cluster bombs) that much of the world follows that we don't. Check out the company we share of other countries who use the death penalty. Justice can't be determined by company, but the brutal, dictatorship-type nature of much of our company, raises questions, I believe about our nature. To ponder: "Why do we kill people, who kill people, to show that killing is wrong?"

  • they are going to die! i have a crew i run with as disciples and christian brothers, and i know each and everyone of them will stand with me to kill anyone harm my family. my closest homeboy Snake is gonna join the marines, and i'm thinking about the navy seals (unless God lets me marry this girl first bcuz i can't deal with the navy 6away6home policy). and if anybody touches her, my blood relatives, or my crew they gonna die. now, that said if there is a way for me to stop this person from bein

  • @Norseman870 g a threat, and him still be alive, and i know about it from the start, then i'll take it. you can garrantee i'll choose that ovr killing him anyday. but if i have to take a life to save 20 then i'll do it. and if that's a sin, you need to show me specifically form the KJV bible the chapter and verse and i promise i will repent. new topic. i agree that afgahnistan is the new veitnam but not for the same reason you do. i believe that because in both wars we had cowards for leaders.

  • i'm one of the biggest bush supporters but i will admit he was a coward. as soon as we found out who hit us with 9/11 we shoulda gone in and exterminated the suckers. not play politics like in veitnam. did you know that our idiot president told macarther that he was not allowed to win? he fired macarther when the general said he was in vietnam to win not to play around. and if you study the bible, then you'll find out that bin laden attacked us because were finishing what the jews didn't in the

  • @Norseman870 the book of Joshua in the land of canaan. my big question is how can you call yourself a christian and then defend the same muslim terrorist who started the war you hate, and this is God's war that started when he brought the jews out of egypt, we're just seeing on a worldwide scale so be careful what you rhatin on. no we're not doing a good job i admit, but i cant change that right now. and btw.... jews were there first. remember abraham? ya i'm pretty sur ehe was there first and

  • @Norseman870 he wasn't, then it doesnt matter anyway because the same God you love, the same God you created the earth, ya i he kinda gave it to the jews and told them to wipe out the people living there. anyways good history resarch, bad bible history research. i challenge you to do a comprehensive study of exodus and joshua and then rethink your position on these wars.

  • @Norseman870 God bless ya bro, write me back i wanna know ur take on this.

  • @kaeldegrey hey, I've got to say, I don't know everything. I'm a freshman at a Mennonite school, Hesston College (KS), studying Social Work. I want my future work to be a spirit-directed ministry. I'm trying to get students organized in response to the Occupy Wall St. cause, and also trying to play a part in a spiritual revival that's moving in our campus

  • @Norseman870 i now you were talking to him, but lemme answer those questions and see if you disagree in light of my other responses. 1) to me, my life is nothing and i will gladly giv eit up to Christ. to my fam and my gf, my life is more valuable. 2) i love (in this order) God, my blood relatives, my sister (imma go by her tagg name "project" to protect identitiy) my homeboy Snake, my gf, my crew, my enemies, the christians i know and don't know personally, And the lost ppl of the world.

  • @Norseman870 3) yes. it's called any terrorist, or foriegn soldier, or just anybody dumb enough to try to hurt them.

  • @Norseman870 What if we rebuilt the country economically as well as other countries in the ares, and pulled all influence out of the area? CPT has a story about the conflict in Columbia, in which a commander of soldiers came to them and said his unit wouldn't fight anymore. 30 years of conflict had shown him what violence wouldn't solve anything. What if Christians believed that God would make a way for them under the commands of Christ, just as long ago the Jews trusted

  • @Norseman870 that God (in a past for a past age) would win their wars for them miraculously , (such as when they fought Jericho?) A perfect nation of Christian believers would be ungovernable by a conquering dictatorship (if any group of significant size would actually invade.) The Christians would simply show complete lack of cooperation with the conquerors. No government can command a people who will not obey. They could pretend that they were rulers, but no one would pay tax etc

  • This is my Jam, just found it....LOVE IT,

  • ...it brings people to Christ (which I have seen) than its ok to listen to. I admire musicians such as Tedashii, Lecrae and a bunch of other Christian musicians making a difference. It is good that there is Christian rap, rock and metal. It shows people that you can be religious and still listen to the music you like and praise the name of the Lord. If there wasn't these types of music I am positive that there wouldn't be as much teens and young adults coming to Christ as there is now.

  • @glenhyvonen AMEN!! :D

  • All I have to say is wow. I am a Christian and I must admit I don''t read the bible enough, I should start. I've been reading some of the comments and I understand what some people are saying. I listen to every type of music. I listen to rock, rap, metal and even death metal, and all of the bands I listen to are Christian. Their lyrics are of Christian values as well, and they help me keep on the path and believe that God is there for me. I believe as long as the music praises God's name and...

  • the devil is a musician and is very subtle...the music God demands in his bible is spiritual with perfect balance and harmony...rock and roll makes you wanna fornicate and drink, same with hip hop, that hard rock makes you want to crush someones skull and get angry and rage...you're as blind as a bat! contemporary christian music is evil! try to worship God with POD or Slipknot...and you're worshipping the Devil thinking you are honoring Christ...What fellowship doth Christ have with Belial?

  • @ReinaValera1865 Rock makes me want to what? That is what it makes you want to do. Didnt God also tell the jews that they could not eat pork amongst other things? But through out reconciliation in Christ "It's not what goes into a man that makes him unclean, but what comes out." So if listening to Rock makes you "want to fornicate" (even if the song itself has nothing to do with fornication) thats because the music is just bringing out what was already there. Speak for your self.

  • Now I'm not trying to start a religious battle with you or questioning your knowledge of the Bible. I am, however, telling you the way God feels. What you're saying is God has no interest in people that this music reaches but let me tell you, my friend's first TRUE CONNECTION with God came while he was listening to a Lecrae song. I capitalize true connection because there is a huge difference in "knowing the Bible" like you talk about and connecting with God.

  • By the way, it's very ironic that the sermon that starts this song talks about making war. Not against others; not against people; not even against satan. Satan doesn't send you hell. You go because of sin. Christianity has an inherent violence that needs to come out. It's time to make war against ourselves and our sin. This song is getting that message out there and you're "making war" against it? Come on man. It might be time to re-read your Bible and on a deeper level.

  • You're talking about the same God that sought out fisherman (that were often feared by the public), tax collectors (that were hated), prostitutes, the sick, and the despised. And now you really question if he can use this music to reach people for him? I'm tellin you this now man, it's time to check your heart. It's better to die than to quench the spirit and your questioning of this song's reason for being is doing just that. I'm not saying die, I'm saying pray about your thoughts on this.

  • Hey one of the lyrics of this song is wrong. He does not say stand firm and be "religious" but "relentless". The last thing we need in this world is another religion to go with the long list of other ones that have caused more problems than they have solved!

  • i appreciate your nice comments to me but this music hardly sounds spiritual or christ like...when i hear that stuff it makes me want to beat someone up its the music of rage not of holiness...i'm just saying

  • @ReinaValera1865 Song is about the war on Sin.

  • @jeffmcaraturnbull Any 'song' or music is dominated by its rhythm, harmony and melody...and never it's words...you an claim any song is about 'the war on sin' from bach to mozart to slipknot to death metal but what determines the character of the song is the music and Never the words...music is a language and that song is the music of rebellion and rage...the words are irrelevant...i appreciate you being nice to me but I have to tell the truth...you can't worship a 3X Holy god with rock and roll

  • @ReinaValera1865 prove it. I don't see how an ominpotent, omnipresent omniscient God would care about the melody. You think God likes classical music? or country? did he tell you that? "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." That includes "rebellious" music.

  • @ThisTurtle The bible says not to give your pearls to swine less they trample you over...if you read the book

in the Old Testament God had very specific people with very specific instructions as to what kind of music is pleasing to him...music with harmony some melody and very little rhythm...but you obviously have no clue what the bible actually says...be ye holy for I am holy saith the Lord...some people can't differentiate between the holy and the profane...you can't worship God in Baalsaltar

  • @ReinaValera1865 Please realize that not everyone is reached by old hymns and chants. I'm sure you might disagree with this but God wants people to willingly worship him. Worshiping God is fun, and if this is the kind of music that people use to lift up God's name then there is nothing you can say against it that isn't sinful and evil. After all, evil is anything that is against God. It offends a Holy, Perfect, and Righteous God.

  • FINALLY crunk, clean, and christian rap music =D

  • this song goes hard

  • Many people can be religious but that isn't what it is about God sent his son with his unconditional love. We need to learn how to love God back. Even if you fell like your alone if you have ran 1,000's of miles from Christ he is a step back. NEVER forget GOD LOVES YOU!!!! ALL OF YOU. God only want's us to do 2 things

1.) Spread his unconditional love and have FAith in him and spread that as well.

2.) HE want's you to love him back!!!!!!!! LOVE Christ he will reward you in the long run!!
