  • Wayne Cilento choreographed the revival. He also musically staged and choreographed Wicked. His main influences are Bob Fosse and Michael Bennett (afterall, Cilento was Mike in the obc of A Chorus Line). He says a lot of his influence come from the two of them. Plus, there are only so many steps in dance and I imagine you have seen same "unique" steps over and over. So, there is only so much one can do. I feel that Cilento maintained the Fosse style in Sweet Charity. It was new and fresh.

  • I love the new arrangment of the music!

Although re-choreographing has to be done for stage sizes, and the dancers your workning with. Making it alot less Fosse is just ridiculous. Its like re-writing one of the beatles songs!

  • although... they've not kept any of the original Fosse dance by the looks of it.

  • might have something to do with the limited stage space.

  • I like that they've taken what was a very 60s sounding tune and made it sound new :)

  • Nifty!

  • I like how it is a new take on Fosse. The movie Chicago did not copy his choreography either

  • the choreography in the movie was not representative of fosse's "style". i don't think anyone intended it to be.

  • its not playing for me

  • Did the coreographer of the revival tought that the "Fosse's Rich Man's Frug" wasn't good enough!?

I'm really sorry, but i think it's just offensive...

  • Thenks for the video by the way!

  • no one can recreate fosse's magic but its gotta be said i LOVE wot this revival has done to the frug...the new orchestrations are FAB and the choreography has been supurbly put together and well thaught through....it must hav been a hard challange to re-choreograph a scene like this that is recognised, loved & famous for its choreography & style but i think its been done VERY well indeed. modernised but still sticking to its roots

10 outta 10 from me xxxx

  • I saw it in Atlanta at the Fox Theater....and I was for sure my favorite part of the movie...I would love to be in this show...The punchin thing wuz the BEST part...I went to see it with my school chorus department and we did the punch dance the whole night after the show...

  • They sort of lost the Bob Fosse touch.

  • where was this?

    its really quit good

  • i just saw this tonight. by far this was the best part of the entire show! omg

  • i go wild during this for any production!!! pretty much every production i've seen (including schools) have kept the punch thing in where they're facing each other and i love that!!!
