Page was a legend that can never be duplicated. You got raw improvisation and the requisite mistakes along with it. You couldn't have one without the other. Page was never a tight guitarist, but he brought us sounds that I've never found anywhere else. His originality and the moods he induced with his creativity will never be surpassed. I guess you had to grow up with him to understand that. Long live the Zep fans of then and now.
well, retard, if you would keep in mind that this is most likely a 50 year old video, the fact that jimmy was way ahead of his time, and the fact that no one had ever heard anything remotely like this at that time... there were other sounds like clapton, trower, hendrix, etc. but jimmy was unique... then you might appreciate it

100% agree. Jimmy is a legend, but this doesn't stop him from being sloppy. Not the virtuoso everyone claims him to be. Very accurate isn't exactly what I'd call it. Those quick licks he plays are really messed up most of the time, and sometimes with lots of dead notes. But he's a legend nonetheless. And I too like Zeppelin, I just don't like overrating players.
This must have been around the time Page was addicted to heroin... Hes totally burnt, his improvisation is lacking severely compared to earlier tours.
