@IdahoViewing they are voracious eaters who have no ill effect on the worms. They speed up decomposition and the vast majority of them die without ever pupating, then the worms eat them. They have never caused a problem and if the flies do hatch they just buzz you. They never land on you and they don't sting or bite. Plus, they are impossible to control so I don't even try.
Why would soldier fly larvae be a good thing?
