Sort of. The MX theme used during their Crockett days was a soundalike theme but not this theme. This theme is the actual piece "The Chase" by Giorgio Moroder for the movie Midnight Express--- which, by the way, won the Oscar for best original music. My guess is that like many things "outlaw," Poffo just used it and never paid any licensing for it. It's not like Moroder's people would be looking for Kentucky wrestling promotions as potential pirates.

It cahnged around the late 80s which is when JCP started doing those sound-alike themes like the one for the MX and the fake "Iron Man" the Road Warriors used. Until 87 or so, the MX was using the original Chase theme, then they had that variation of it.
