@ttt1978again Great, wish I could see your scrapbook. I was a fan at 9 in 1975 but my parents weren't letting us go to rock concerts at that point. I've seen them on DVDs. ):
i am having trouble replying to your personal messages. I will try and have a look at the photo - and DD's blog. He was my favourite Alice Cooper member :) The programme I watched was US show posted here in 5 parts. very good, interviews with Bob Ezrin, etc, and Alice's wife etc. And yes, I have seen clips of the shows when he was really drunk. I had to turn them off! The band was still hot and functioning well, it seemed anway. How do you open stuff that is just codes?
@samsmumable Codes? Do you mean the link I put for that starts off with 'watch'? If so, just copy and paste that after the slash that follows youtube dot com. Look at the URL address at the top of this page...delete the current 'watch' part and paste in what I put in my comment. Hope that helps.
having just watched the documentary about Alice from the early days., I have a lot of respect for him. quitting drinking and finding God, whether you believe in it or not. He is using his fame and celebrity for the good of others and that is great :) Go Alice. On the other hand, I can't help feeling sorry for the band he left behind.. I wonder if they all still feel the pain of abandonment? I didn't realise that they had been almost childhood friends. Ouch.
@samsmumable Whatever works for someone in depths of despair and/or wrecking themselves...whatever gets you through the night. It's not like he became a holy roller & he doesn't talk about it much. He said in 2007 that he didn't want to be a "celebrity Christian." An older article that said: "He no longer performs some of his older repertoire. Any song promoting promiscuous sex and drinking "gets the axe," he said. "I'm very careful about what the lyrics are. (ctnd)
@Grendelmonster8u I tried to write songs that were equally as good, only with a better message." Well, he's been out & about performing the old songs, people want to hear them, but it's always been a different personality on stage. If you google 'Alice Cooper band break-up' you can read the various elements in their break-up & a clincher was the success of the Nightmare record. Despite resentments they remained friends w/ respect for eachother & the remaining 3 have parts on the new album.
@Grendelmonster8u Here is a video interview about his Christianity: watch?v=34dnJVdmCzU&feature=player_embedded
The pictures are from the web. Dennis Dunaway posted a couple of them on his blog and he's got more memorabilia than is out there. Just search Google images. Yes, they really got into the glam sequin look early...outfits Dennis' wife made. Dennis & Neal must have had the longest hair in the rock world then! People said they looked like girls. Lol. I thought it fascinating as a kid.
@Grendelmonster8u Wish I could write one long post! Alice was well on his way to killing himself in the late 70s...he got so skinny and was coughing up blood. God or no God, I think he was lucky he didn't end up like Keith Moon or John Bonham who were heavy drinkers too. Famous or non-famous, you're gambling w/ your life increasing the odds.
But here, w/ this song I loved as a 8 yr-old, it's the music & talent that makes one care. Because as you know, music becomes a soundtrack to one's life.
@Grendelmonster8u thank you for your replies! I didn't realise Alice got so ill. At one point in the documentary there were a couple of shots that made it look like he was losing his teeth. horrible. And he could have gone the same way as Glen Buxton:( when yousay Dennis's blog, do you mean the Facebook page or is there something else for public access? Now I'm older (!) the human story interests me too as well as the music, which I loved aged 12-13.
@samsmumable@samsmumable You can go to Dennisdunaway (dot) com & at the bottom there's a blog link. I'm having trouble commenting there today.
I'll message you a scary photo of him when he's very gaunt from 1980. It was about the mid-80s that he got himself together thankfully. Here's a 77 video that someone says he doesn't like:

Glen died of problems w/ pneumonia but heavy drinker. Very good underrated guitarist. On Rolling Stone top list though.
@Grendelmonster8u horny girls :) I love Dennis's face - those high cheekbones and the wide eyes. and the long hair :) 'sigh' . Anyway. thanks for the info about the codes. it worked :)
@samsmumable Lol. The song? At 8 yrs-old I didn't quite get the "muscle of love" part, but the gist of the song, yes. They wrote all these coming of age songs (no pun intended) mostly re guys. Maybe we we're corrupted. I have 2 uploads of Dennis in recent times with Blue Coupe, then he's got his 5th Ave Vampires band. There was that 4D show at Battersea Station this yr, and Alice joined the Foo Fighters on stage in July at Milton Keynes Bowl. Well, they FINALLY got into the RRHOF. Too long. (:
@Grendelmonster8u uploads of Blue Coupe. I ;d like to have a look at them. I;d say ACband were very male orientated, and macho despite that beautiful hair (Neal and Dennis) :) Glen looked a bit wilder, I think. Anyway, any more news or pictures would be much appreciated xxx I have joined the Blog thing on DDs webpage but not sure how it works, to be honest! I wish there had been this much fan stuff available when I was 12, I wouldn never have left him alone!
@samsmumable True, I didn't know many girls who were into AC at my age. We had an AC club in elementary school & my sister & I were the only girls. They had them in their audiences, but it was more guys. Saw a few magazine photos then, pictures in albums, but all this stuff online re-opened a whole new appreciation of what I was too young to see then. Back then young kids didn't get to go to rock concerts much...not family-friendly then. Lol. AC fan guys I meet today luv meeting girl AC fans.
great photos!! where can you get them? I love the way you can see their image changing over the years - teenagers with the hair growing, and then the full rock star thing xx seriously, any information would be much appreciated. I want to build up my portfolio !
I have every picture here in my scrap book! No joke. I was 13 at my first concert and it was Alice Cooper Olympia Stadium Detroit Mi. 1975
