  • what color guards were you in?

  • this video really helps thank you- and to -mrprodigy699- 2 comments down there is no way you marched drum corps because if you did (for two years like me) you would know how to spell drum corps....

  • how long is your rifle 36 or 39 inch?

  • He reminds me of Mike Meyers in Wayne's World

  • Thanks for the helpful video :)

  • I just started on rifle yesterday. :) I already got handspins and a solid single down. Hopefully I'll make it to the rifle line.

  • Not a bad video. Don't dip on a single though =] People are stupid if they're trying to compare military guard to colorguard.... Also.. watch your hands under your tosses. Great job!

  • Its not only for girls.. Im a boy who is actually been told im a bit more skilled than the girls.

  • its hard to spin rifle with gloves on... but im getting used to it :) imma do Winter guard when marching season is over. i march baritone :) (heavy sht bro O.o)

  • dude are are C L E A N with your technique...i'm learning rifle this year for marching band season

    xD

  • ur good but dont prep for a single!!!

  • if your in mil guard if u think ur better whatevr thts cool keep tt to ur self cuz by being stupid assholes u cause problems everyone does thts how wars start

  • My Corps uses riffles with lead rods down the barrel to render them 'safe'. Of course, that also means they weigh 15 pounds... makes these spins kinda harder lol

  • Despite the fact I'm an NJROTC cadet, I have some respect for colorguard. Sure, they don't use real rifles, but does it really matter?

  • @colorguardwithbuddy 2nd year in guard 1st DAY in rifle = an EPIC FAIL any tips?????

  • my dick weighs more than that piece of plywood with 2 pounds of tape wrapped around it.

  • Wow men actually do this? At my school, you have to have a pussy to do this. Get a real rifle then you might get some respect.

  • @mannyISBack1 how bout you stfu colorguard does dif stuff than military drill teams, they both take dif skills, i bet any marine couldnt do half the stuff a guard team does and a guard team couldnt do havet he stuff a drill team does, your comparing blue and purple here, similar things, different skill sets

  • dude im effin 5 foot and spin triples widd a 12 pound rifle. stop usin tht pussy shit

  • ok i know that you said you dont want ROTC people commenting on your page or channel or whatever but i just want to let all of the other people on your page know that my unit learned our exhibition for our school band colorguard. you guys are the ones who taught us and it is hard i know i went to camp with my band color guard. so i thought that your video was really good and helpful to teach our new freshman what we learned at camp:) thanks and sorry for the comment

  • hardware........... the stock?

  • People really need to stop hatin'

Who cares if they have rifles that are five times lighter than ours and that they sync their routines to music. A lot of us ROTC guys think thats its a girly version of what we do but honestly, if you think that, keep the comments to yourself. Color Guard is just as much an art form as Exhibition Drill and I'm sure that they are just as passionate about their sport as we are.

So please, stop. It's not how cadets should act.

  • so how much do your pussy shit rifles weigh for this colorguard bullshit

  • get a real rifle and thats not armed exibition thats just dumm a hell

  • if i did that leg shit with my 10lb m1 i'd break my fucking nuts

  • u think ur so good cuz you spin with a 2 pound rifle

  • Get a real spinning rifle . Not a block of wood thats 2 pounds .

  • Get a real spinning rifle . ot a block of wood thats 2 pounds .

  • I got a rifle for christmas so this helps.(:

  • lawl... i know a guy who can throw quints...... WITH A 12 LB M1903 Springfield rifle..... lets see u do that.... and btw im on both band colorguard and the rotc armed drill team.... rotc armed drill team is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY harder

  • @Prodigy699 i dont give a shit... i really dont

  • @Prodigy699 hey bro, there's no such thing as "quints" in colorguard :) juuuust saying. After quads, they just call it 5's 6's 7's ect....

  • @Prodigy699 Hah, you're probably one of those Colorguards who don't dance and just spin and march, because if you did dance, you wouldn't be saying that. :p

  • @Prodigy699 So am I! And im a girl!

  • @Prodigy699 i am in both as well. And im a girl. I actually find Military armed drill team A LOT easier than Color Guard. Its different for each person. So what is easy for you might be hard for someone else and vice versa. So dont judge other people.

@colorguardwithbuddy. Your videos are wonderful and a bunch of help for me since i am teaching myself. Thank you for posting them

  • @Prodigy699

your on both colorguard and rotc so you should understand how much we hate it when people compare rotc to us. I'm not hating on rotc, i have a friend in the rotc armed drill team and we're best friends, we respect eachothers choice. Dont judge. You dont need to see us do a quint with a 12 lb m1903 Springfield because we're not trying to be the strongest. It's not about how heavy the equipment is but how well you complete each move, how well you perform it and move with it.

  • @Prodigy699 well maybe for YOUR color guard and rotc but all color guard and rotc teams are different.... so you can't exactly judge based only on your ONE experience -.-

  • @Prodigy699 Thats Because Your Rifles are made with reinforced steel ares are made with solid wood and palstic...of Course your ROTC weapons are harder but Colorguard is way harder then Rotc i Should know i have done both and Ive been in Drum Core for 2 years so yeah it is alot harder then you think. Its defirent every where you go.

  • wow i just said i understand that they are both hard.! i am saying that yeah we do a lot of stuff. but military is hella stricter (and at times yeah it is harder). you are like contradicting what im saying bcuz i totally understand where military guard comes from.!

but at least you guys are indoors when you do your stuff i was just at a parade in the rain(and won first place)

  • @bhsmalecolorguard we are outdoors too during marching season

  • @crimsonomen407. Have you ever dropped a metal saber on your head after tossing a 6? Thought so too. But anyways I hav just as much respect for ROTC as I do my type of guard. So deal with it.

  • @bhsmalecolorguard im PRETTY fucking sure a real steel M14 ways a LITTLE bit more than a saber.

  • Look, my friend is in ROTC and they are just as hard. We have to march and be on step etc just as much as ROTC does, but we use more than one thing. Tall flags short flags rifles and sabres. ROTC you guys have to be together march together have perfect (and I mean perfect) uniforms. I get it.

  • All I'm saying is stop disrespecting the people that this video is meant for. Just leave it alone.

  • @31heroes

    Your reply is filled ignorance.

We don't spin with twelve pound rifles because it's ridiculous. You can do what you want with your twelve pound rifle, though. Toss a seven, I'd really like to see that. In fact, take a military colorguard and have them do everything we do, but with twelve pound rifles, and get back to us [you can even used bayonets, as you so nicely pointed out], if you don't have any serious injuries or stab wounds. <.<

  • why use a fax? that is so weightless....use a springfield....good 'ol 13 lb. rifles

  • its kinda funny because the military rifle doesn't weigh a pound

  • Should've taken out the stupid song.

  • i am in love with this guy!!!

  • Okay, ROTC and colorguard are different. Let's look not at the weights of the rifles, but at what each does OUTSIDE dropspinning a silly rifle. Colorguards have to learn to DANCE alongside more challenging moves with a lighter rifle. And ROTC.....ROTC is a difficult path to follow. Each has their own challenges, but leave this one to the colorguard. ROTC isn't about dropspinning a rifle, there are other elements, but colorguard, dropspinning a rifle and tossing it, dancing with it is INTEGRAL.

  • @GreenFleebs thats just straight disrespecting the rifle right there. using it as a dance prop.

stick to your aluminium poled flags

  • haha i feel dumb insted of pausing the video, i yell WAIT LEMME GET MY RIFLE!!!

  • wow i just wonder how many people like you there are in the world.... hmmm can there be more than person this stupid? military color guards are not the same though you can't do that shit with a spring... or an M1

  • @TheMegabed i can do all of that shit with an m1 or a springfield or a springfield with a bayonet

  • @31heroes : Please stop being such a poor ambassador of our activity, 31heroes. Drillers could learn a great deal from our sister sport.

I apologize on behalf of the drill community for the ignorance of some of our participants. Please know that not all of us act in such inappropriate manners.

  • Its cool and all but im trying to use a 8.5 pound rifle, anyone can spin a 3.25 pound rifle, but mine is alot heavier...

  • Color guard ROCKS SOCKS!!!!!!

  • My coaches told us that in competitions (winterguard) we're not allowed to "dip" for singles and for doubles, we're only allowed a small "dip".

  • @vietkid92 .......your coaches are totally correct!!!!!

  • your good! im a freshman, and i made rifle. i practice many hours a day haha and they say im a natural. you are talented(:

  • f u c k i n P O Gs -Semper Fi Do Or Die

  • please fix your free hands they irritate me. Thank you

  • seriously color guard and milatary guard are two different thnig (i think the name even states that) leave us colorguard ppl out of it k our work is just as hard you just learned it differently and thank you very much but both techneics can be put into use for both guards i should kow i taught my self ninja.

  • wow thats a girl's rifle, your such a man. Grab a m-14. Whats with the gloves? You make gay men look femine.

  • you all are dumbasses. MILITARY GUARD AND MARCHING BAND COLORGUARD ARE DIFFERENT. so stop saying that this isn't hard, cus this is totally different from freakin military guard. just shut the hell up and go comment on a military guard video. leave this one to the colorguard.

  • Comment removed

  • @shan789mudge yeah its different because military honor guard is harder. the rifle we spin are up to 6 times heavier than yours. and take know skill to spin i can run and dance with a twelve pound rifle to but that would defeat the purpose of military drill. oh and you dont spin with bayonets. oh and marching band is gay.

  • @shan789mudge actually, the Color Guard IS a military guard.

those are the guys (girls) who present the countries colors.

what your calling color guard, is a bunch of chicks spinning flags that weigh like 3 pounds.

dont disrespect the military and ROTC like that

  • @CrimsonOmen407 the colorguard that is in this video, and I do. ORIGINATES from your military guard...just FYI. We are sister sports. You guys are disrespecting yourselves by acting like complete dicks to us. Saying that WE are not a "real" colorguard.

  • @BrittandChez riddle me this. what are you guarding? your virginity??

  • @CrimsonOmen407 ohhhh ho hoooo your fuckin funny bro. Seriously, get over it. You don't have to be a dick to us, just cuz we have the same NAME as us.

  • @BrittandChez i really dont care what you people think, because i have actual logic to support my conclusion.

if you guys just called yourselfs like the dance squad or something like that, which is what you are, there wouldnt be a problem.

it just makes no sense to call whats basically ballet color guard.

  • @CrimsonOmen407 Originally, a military colorguard often traveled with a band, which would play a patriotic song. This use continued into the civilian marching bands, and today, a marching band's colorguard will normally carry equipment descended from those of military colorguard: flags, banners, mock rifles, or mock sabres. That's why

  • @BrittandChez the origins of military Color Guard are this.

when units would carry flags into battle so their commanders could better tell who was where on the battlefield, the assigned two soldiers to guard the flags and its carriers. because loosing your flag to the enemy was incredibly humiliating. almost like a samurai being defeated in battle.

thats also why if a military base is most certainly going to be taken, it is the highest ranking officers job to burn the colors.

  • @shan789mudge theyre different because Military drill teams are more difficult :p

  • Who cares how heavy our rifle is..... Colorguard is alot different then rotc....try spinning a sabres....Colorguard is more than how heavy your equipment is its about dance and passion.....why dont u try spinning walking catching smiling trowing and catching sabres rifles and flags..... its not as easy as it looks.

  • @makala312 ACTUALLY. Color Guard is.. you know. GUARDING your Countries COLORS.

NOT spinning around a whimpy ass hollow pole with a tissue at the end.

  • try doing that with a 10 pound m1 garand drill rifle.

  • great video dude - it helped me out alot.

im just wondering why some of the idiots down there are comparing colorguard to military guard. its like comparing apples and oranges - um, nothing alike. it just all depends on your ability, and what you like to do, duh.

  • Bearing vs performing - neither is specifically harder, it just depends on the person, their ability and personality. I could manage precision but could NEVER keep a straight face the whole time. :)

  • dont dip when doing a single

  • AFJROTC

  • excuse me rotc uses 2 pound rifles? what rotc have you been watching cuz we use the 9.5 pound 1903 springfields

  • @ttimothyp16 AFROTC is not authorized to use real rifles so the use 2 pound replicas

  • ok for color/marching/winter guard we dance, run, spin, tumble, and smile while tossing flags, rifles, and sabers so i would say our guard is a little bit harder than military guard. but you guys do toss heavier rifles because you cant dance lol :p

  • have you spun and tossed a ten pound rifle. its harder than that pansy two pound stuff you can toss like 50 feet

  • @bhsmalecolorguard Considering the fact you're forgetting about military bearing, the ability to watch your uniform so you don't mess up, the extra weight added to the rifles (we use 13 pound ones) the ability to stay on step with the rest of the squad/platoon, not to mention the time, devotion, and preciseness of executing a proper spin, and if NJROTC watch out so you don't drop your VERY fragile cover. Yeah, it's definitely the easier one to do.

  • @bhsmalecolorguard you ever dropped a bayonetted real steel M14 on the top of your head?

    thought so

  • @bhsmalecolorguard alright buddy, first off...your version of color guard is no where near as hard as military colorguards. our rifles can weigh anywhere from 8.5 to 12lbs. we march constantly, and we spin those weights of the rifles like they have no weight at all! im our units Armed Division commander and we all use a 9lbs springfield drill rifle. I want your weak ass to come do what we do! and we don't dance in our routines/performances because we are military units/programs!

  • @bhsmalecolorguard

Millitary Color Gaurd is harder than you think. It takes a lot dicipline and precision. Plus we don't spin our rifles or flags because that is extremely disrespectful.

  • @bhsmalecolorguard PWNED!

  • It's a different kind of rifle spinning, hence the different rifles. If this isn't how you would spin your rifle, than don't spin it this way. Colorguards use rifles that are a few pounds, mostly because of the dance aspect of colorguard, so ROTC people, we understand you can spin heavier rifles. SHUT UP!

  • That has to be half a pound we use 10 pounds

this is for the girl scouts

  • exactly lol do you use the m1 or like the springfields we use the springfields

  • our rifles our rifles are in fact 8.8 pounds lets so you do it with that stuff buddy i doubt u can

  • its like there just spinning a stick not a rifle.

  • lol at my school our rifles are about 12-15 pounds in rotc.

    fail.

  • ROTC doesn't dance with there guns. so they have to be light when we use them.

  • wtf?? ill nev learn dat?

  • this isnt bs colorguard leave colorguard to the military and rotc

  • The tip of the rifle is known as the barrel ya dumbass! Lol

  • don't listen to all these dumbass flamers. They're probably not even in guard! You're doing awesome and I'm attempting to get on weapons line next year.

  • ROTC Sucks.

    haa.

I caught my first quad today. I was so happy!

    I love colorguard!

  • ROTC does not suck. much harder exhibition then this colorguard stuff. can guarantee none of you could do any of your stuff with one of our rifles unless you are on the jrotc exhibition team. Yet every drill team member could do one of your moves with some quick practice to get used to the light as a feather rifles color guard uses. no dissing on the jrotc colorguard though :P

  • oh please.

I've watched military exhibitions and they don't look hard at all. I've held military guard rifles and they're heavy but I'm not even that big of a guy and I can do anything they were doing. On the other hand, marching guard combines dance, harder rifle work (although they are totally lighter SO we can do better work) and sometimes tumbling. I've never seen a military guard do a layout with a full twist during an exhibition.

Each guard (military or marching) has strong points.

  • LOL lets see you throw a quad with a 15lbs rifle like in Rotc?

  • Are u stupid who the hell throws a quad with a 15 pound rifle? Do u compete with the 15 pound rifles? Wow! problems!

  • am i stupid? nop . and rotc compete with full 15 pound rifles not this fake shit

    Don't believe me?

    watch?v=M5zdRaQvZ7E

  • Comment removed

  • Try doing that with a heavier rifle? ALSO its Drill, retard.

  • thats not even color guard d u m b a s s

  • faggot.

  • P U S S Y !

    your wearing gloves for that?

why dont you pick up an actual 13 pound rifle and grow a pair.

  • wow band rifle spinning is different and easier then JROTC rifle spining!

  • actually tonyandashleyfan i dont think it matters ...i use my thumb when i spin rifle

  • Wow that's awesome. Your really good at tosses.

  • dude your amazing i am in colorguard as well you are legit :)

  • remember to keep your thumb down when your spinning

  • not even a real rifle... try it with a Springfield or an M1... not a plastic piece of crap.

  • Comment removed

  • @SweetiePieTruc Rotc has colorguard, idiot

  • hope so

  • IS HE GAY?

  • it isnt hardware its barrel i think

  • Hahaha try doing that with the 10 springfield rifles or the 12.5 pound M1s that my JROTC unit uses. we dont throw them that high up like batons but we do much more complicated spinning than that

  • lucky you lol we have 15 pound daisy's and 16 pound M1's at my school

  • thats....odd. you may want to weight them because we also have daisy's which only weigh about 10 pounds. 15 and 16 just seems unusually heavy. even the USMC scilent drill platoon rifles are only about 12.5 pounds

  • lol USMC uses m14 dude. We use 14.7lb or 15lb springfields so this may not be to crazy.

  • @TheDoggyProductions i dont mean to be disrespectful but that cant be right. I own a working springfield and it only comes in at about 10 pounds (roughly). And my daisy drill springfield is only about 10 pounds including the sling. M1 garands are only a little heavier. so unless you add 5 pounds for fun, i dont see how you got that. (and the real USMC scilent drill platoon in fact uses M1 garands. not M-14s)

  • @TryAgain1986 yea mis gided fact lol its actuly 12 lb not 15 or 14. The m14 thing i was thinking about a video i saw with a marine useing a m14 lol.

  • @TheDoggyProductions haha its all good. And ive seen that video too. He was in MCJROTC and they usually use M-14s (which are often mistaken for M1 Garands) so its an easy mistake to make. i do it all the time

  • @TryAgain1986 i just posted a vid 30 minits ago lol. Im drilling in this vid come check it out if its all processed and stuff.

  • no you don't, you use between 8.5 and 9 lb springfields

  • No, you have 8.5lb Daisys and 10lb M1's.

  • how do you know what my schools rifles weight unless you go to my school which you most likely dont

  • The tricks are easy but that rifle is not heavy. Ours are 9 pounds and i do it with my curtains and its easy, but once i start with the real rifle its tougher.

  • the hardware wat the fuck do drill

  • I've been watching these videos and am a little offended that there is so much technique you could talk about but your not. All your release points are the same, and that's really not a good thing.

You bring your hands up way early to meet the gun. Eliminate unnecessary movement in your arms and you'll catch harder.

There is a proper discipline to reset to toss or spin everytime to breed consistency, and I see why you don't have it. I hope people are getting better instruction in real life.

  • ahahhaha!!.. yes!. so truee...

Im not trying to be mean here, but you said put your right hand on this "Swirming" part of the rifle.. that swirming part is call the Neck and the Tip is call the Nose...

  • u make it easy cuz that rifle looks like its 5 lbs mine is 14lbs

  • thats a complete lie... what rifle do you have

  • M1 Garand which is approx 12.5 lbs with the bayonet and sling is an addidional 1.5 lbs making it 14lbs

  • HAHA... dude... my M1 is 9 pounds (and yes its real) Plus, its cemented in making it heavier... i mean, hey if it is 14 pounds, it would be kinda stupid. Between 8-10 pounds for a rifle is good weight. Any heavier just makes it harder.

  • If you are going to explain releases how about explaining the counts and release point. Sometime you need to explain more and stop showing off with difference catches. If you are a real teach you would know to be more thorough with your explanations.

  • lol "Rick's fuzzy pink slippers..."

  • yeah doing it with a rifle thats made of paper and weighs 3 pounds is alot different than doing it with an actual rifle that can weigh 10+lbs like the ones at my school we have springfields that weigh im pretty sure around 13 lbs

  • Hey man, how much does your rifle wiegh.

  • Damn dude, does that weigh half a pound or something?

  • colorguards gay join rifle team

  • not to be rude or nothing but obviously that isnt a real rifle. so try doing that with a ten pound m1 grand that i drill with. and for two you dont even know the parts of the rifle so again obviously u made this all up yourself

  • i have to do tha with an m1 garand an not dro it in rotc

  • what do u do when u toss a 5 and ur pitch tilts toward u at a 45 * and it rainbows at an awkward position?

  • when you toss it, you may be setting it up at a pitch / 45 degree angle before you release. just keep on going to the release point before letting go. but you must be really good. i can only toss a quad, and i cant get anymore rotation than that for some reason.

  • hey man do you have anyvideos with you spinning a real rifle cuz that thing my grandmom could throw lol

  • ya you think you're tough,so go and spin a m1 rifle and lets see if you can handle it without stopping... because that dummy even girls can do way more than 50.

  • i use a m1 rifle but there going to change them to some light weight (im in afjrotc)

  • you are pretty good but just to let you know there are lots of different ways to stop we use about 6 or 7 different ways on mine and just try and center your tosses more but please message me i'm trying to get to know more guard guys like me so i can discuss tips and tricks and such! i'm the only guy on my guard lol

  • your good

    omg

we need guys on our guard

    thanks this helped

    im a new rifle

  • KOOL! I wish I could do those things... but I can't YET

  • the end is the butt; the "swervyy thing" is called the catch; then there's the barrel; then the tip :D

  • @ aireekahluvsu14:I thought the "swervyy thing" was called the neck

  • Really helpful video;

However, my problem is that I either spin to my knees (my hand is bent down at my wrist, and the gun is moving in a 45 degree plane) or the gun slowly rotates inwards towards me.

Any tips on solving this? Anybody?

  • if the rifle rotates inward towards you when you spin, try facing your palm to the sky when you spin. usually when the rifle spins inward towards me its cause my palm is facing more towards myself rather than straight up to the sky. haha i probably just confused you but i hope it might have helped. =]

  • dont be a pussy use an M1

  • You don't use M1's in colorguard. We aren't a military colorguard. You think your so tough. Try combining dance, marching, and spinning and tossing at the same time and you'll see just how hard it actually is. I also bet you've never spun sabre.

  • re: rotc does march toss and spinn rifles...btw i was doin da jerk while spinning a m1 garand lol

  • you sound like my buddy crhis he jerks when were in formation XD but this video is off not even our color guard spins like that we spin he catches his quad weird too we would be slapped if we did it like that

  • 2 pounds rifle?

  • can you do a video on left consecutives because idk where to start i have my rights down tho... :D

  • You, my friend, are missing the point. By about a mile.

    You als
