Granted I didn't/won't ever use word press since I am a designer, but the hosting fees are sooooo much cheaper than what I use now.   • @sonicx711 uhm, you need 80 dollar to reserve the domain name. There is no point of learning it yourself or learning it from Hank (for free), if you do not have a website domain to apply all you learn to. :)

    You can pick domain names that are less expensive than 80 dollar tough, such as for example choosing ".org" instead of ".com". :)

  • He says 80 dollars because just like your homeInternet costs money, it costs money for a company to host your website on their servers. Also it costs money for companies to license you a domain name but that's usually only like 10 bux or less.

    Hosting is usually around 7 bux per month, but they usually charge you for the whole year in advance as one large lump sum
