  • Interesting. Creepy, but interesting.

  • I thought I'd have to wait to go to heaven to see some of this stuff again! This technology looks like the answer. Very well done!

  • THIS IS SIMPLY INCREDIBLE

  • What did you use for this? I'm a bit of a editing freak and I think if I used this technique along with some other clever tricks,I could reconstruct a story completely!

  • @HTprodsDW the programme is crazytalk and I have used it briefly on my recon of Power of the Daleks in part 4. It does unfortunately have its drawbacks as the mouth seems to react to the most prominant sound unfortunately that can sometimes be a sound effect over a bit of speech or music and it causes no end of problems. Good luck with it though I would be interested in seeing the results.

  • @cbatt91337

would the solution to that not be to create a "single character only" audio track, which, by use of gates/compression has only the sound you want on it? You could even manually scrub-out the sound fx or any other interfering sounds.

when the animation is made from that, you could then drop the "real" audio back in over the top.

  • @HoraceAndTheSpider . Thanks for your comments. If you watch my version of Power of the Daleks part 4.1 you will be able to see some more and also hear the problems I had eg when Lesterton is talking to the Daleks there is a hum in the background and this comes accross as the most dominant sound while he is talking and unfortunately this is what the programme responds too. I did try to do what you suggested but it takes so much time and with two kids I just dont have that any more.

  • @cbatt91337 Hi, You can fix that by re-recording the speech in sinc with the original, do the animation, then reinsert the original.

  • @Psylliumhead Hmmmmmmmmmm simple but effective, I'll give that a go! Thanks Mate.

  • Thank you for the samples and very hard work. Nice to see the photos animated. I have seen other where only peoples lips move. I am glad that people are reconstruting Doctor Who episodes.

  • that was brilliant

  • Very nice experiment. You are right. This has a lot of potential.

  • I tried using it in my Power of the Daleks recon in part 4 but still not 100 per cent pleased with the results

  • Stupid BBC !

Bunch of DUMASSES wiping all the material!

Some one or something should be held accountable for wiping Who episodes && should pay for the costs of restoring or recreating missing episodes ...

    Let the trial begin`!!!

  • Good luck in finding the person or persons accountable!

  • don't worry!

    I will!

    : )

  • nice work, sill u be using this in your power of the daleks recontructions?

  • Already doing it for part 4. It wont all be like that cos on some shots it just doesn't work or looks bad but there will be some scenes and shots that have this in it.

  • BRILLIANT. I love this. It looks so real. But I didn't like the last one. Great work. Oh and when is episode 4 of The Power of the Daleks going to be up. That Power of the Daleks recon is the best recon I have ever seen.

  • The more you work with crazy talk the more you can do. Check out the video I did. Put Gigantic Frankenstein in the Toutube search engine.

  • @ShiftyLizardStore Crazy talk sounds interesting. Somone asked another animtor if he used Crazy talk and he said he drew the Doctor saying "Mary Christmas" him self. He said he does not have a Mac.

  • @britfrenir Sorry I meant another animator.

  • GREAT! You know the new Crazy Talk lets you do 2 people in a scene.

  • that is amazing!!! my hat is off to you well done

  • YESSSS!

  • Another move closer to having the lost episodes back!

  • NIce technical achievement I suppose. But you've still got people standing still and with no movement in the scene. Plus it looks false and creepy too. Bit pointless really.

  • Oh well cant please every one! I take on board your comments but Imagine this in a proper scene where it is edited properly in a recon. Ive found the trick is to not linger on the shot too long and to zoom and pan in the shot to create movement. Take a look at my power of the daleks recon to see what i mean. It doesnt have the mouth talking yet but its on its way. This was only a demo and as i said not perfect, but a start. Things have moved on a bit since i posted it.

  • Keep an eye on this channel for a whole lot more coming soon.

  • dude. holy crap. That was freaking awesome! I'm sending this out!

  • this is very well bone, this could be a new step like you said, better then i could do

  • Nice! Good Idea this is..

  • brilliant! how much is crazytalk because i am trying to create a recon of the underwater menace

  • Bravo, very promising. 5 Thumbs up

  • Woah! This is brilliant! I'd rather watch this than Cosgrove Hall or Loose Cannon Reconstructions

  • WOW

  • Promising. Not creepy like earlier efforts to get lip movement. Keep up the good work.

  • Very good! :)

  • VERY interesting! I would watch a reconstruction like this, in place of the missing episodes......its the next best thing

  • Wow!

  • holy crap that good! you should work with loose cannon!!

  • Thanks very much

  • That works surprisingly well!

  • Yes this is good!!, Keep up the good work, maybe make the comic doctor in black and white?. But it's all great fun to watch!.

  • This is great. Well done Chris, it looks really good :-)
