I was there that year- I think that moment was one of the most thrilling I have seen- ever- in Times Square to boot- it was magical when she did that- esp. that last note- it was like all of New York belonged to her for that moment. Amazing.
Really? Well I talked to some people who study voice, and they said said that you can't really belt it, so I'm confused, but I'll take your word for it.
I also thought of something kinda cool\freaky because she used to work at disneyland and i go to disneyland all the time. she was ariel and poccahontas so i might have meet her as a character...woah...
EDEN IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's so amazing and seems like the coolest person ever!! I had already seen her in Wicked in Los Angeles, and since i live in Laguna Beach (30 min. away from where Eden's home town) i'm gonna try to go see the show on saturday then try to meet her!
Hey! Everyone! Join my broadway group! I have a bunch of videos. It's called Broadway Babes. You can find it in my channel! Thanks. BTW: Eden is AMAZING! Almost as awesome as Idina Menzel
to me...eden is the best singer i have ever heard..the notes she hits..are unreal!...it doesnt seem real...its soo hard to hit that note..but she is absolutely fantastic
I saw this when it was on Broadway. One of the most amazing moments I've witnessed. Needless to say that the whole theatre stood up when she finished singing this song. Amazing.
i like the trumpets... and that last note was very surprisingly controlled... and the whole thing sounded good especially for an outdoor performance given the factors of, well being outside lol
it was a mixed. because when you listen closely, you hear the breathy, sort of raspy sound. That usually only happens in your mixed. If it was belted, you would have heard a clear decisive sound. Either way, that note was absolutely amazing! And not many people can hit it like that.
this entire song is sung in a mix basically. umm actually you are wrong though. if it's mixed you shouldn't hear any raspyness at all. That's only if you are screaming and/or in your throat and/or sick.
I seriously am devotedly in love with this musical and the song!
I think Eden is a precious jewel! Broadway was blessed with her!

You are right, it is in a mixed voice, but it's a great singing technique that makes it sound like you AREN'T having to mix it!
AmbularNYC 3 years ago
Yeah that's what makes it so good. But most people don't even know what a mixed voice is.
There was this teenager on Public Acces channel singing this.........I was praying for Eden to come out of nowhere and finish. It was so bad.
PositivelyEmerald 3 years ago
This is very true, and it's a hard technique to master. I have trouble with still. AND if you don't know how to you can really hurt yourself :(

I sang this on the phone with meh friend last night. I was the background singer peoples. xD

no, she can belt it without a mix. That's what makes her insane! She has up to an A at least on a full screaming belt. Insanity.

This rocks.. And of course it's possible. She couldn't of done it if it wasn't possible.

those notes sound amazing...but that is so unhealthy for your voice to belt those notes.
ajgibby6000 4 years ago
You can't really 'belt' it- you have ot use a mized voice.
PositivelyEmerald 4 years ago
It's only unhealthy if you don;t know how to do it. Trained singers can do it no problem with little to no damage at all.

And the orchestra is really really good and expressive, particularly the piano.
But as usual, Eden blew me away.
