@Marksvillegeoteach actually the school is open still just not funded by the state thats all and they still have their band prigram. i found vids of them from 2009 season

@TheDragonmaster18 Morris Brown is a private college, it is not that they are not funded by the state they are ineligible to receive federal financial aid money due to the lack of accreditation last time I checked they were able to take students who receive the HOPE scholarship and their enrollment was around 250 to 300. I pray that they get their accreditation back, it would be sad to lose such a great historic institution.

yo, im jus a junior in H.S., but i have a strong passion of joinin the morris browns band. my bro said the college is doin bad and want me to go somewhere else, so somebody wanna let me kno what the situation is?

The college lost its accreditation which means that the state doesnt give them funds for financial aid or scholarships. This happend because MBC was in debt with 23 million dollars. Also, the financial aid director spent most of their money on ineligible college cost. So the federal government revoked the college's accreditation. There's probably about 20 students in their band program. So if i were u, i wouldnt go there. There's high school bands that are better than them!

Damn,I remeber being in high school(J.O. Johnson High School)and going to band camp at MBC.I sd tht once I finish high school I was going to march in the best band in the land,MBC!When I found out that they where closing,it hurt my class so bad that none of us march anywhere once we finish school.I will always love MBC and never will be forgot.

sadly they had to do it because the school lost accreditation due to some biotch (former president) and others who decided to steal the money of the school, hire their friends with out terminal degrees and pay them as much or more than tenured prof. and collect fin. aid for students that didn't apply for it... many people hoped to run across them in the street! lol But it's cool, they will rebuild in a few years.
