Interesting that an Obama ad just aired after your video. Hey very up lifting video. Thanks for making it. I'll definitely be watching more of your video's NUTNFANCY.
Man - what a great message. 30 years ago, when I was 20, was my first - first aid at an accident. Like you say -the driver was arguing with his wife -dude is on the ground in shock. I just focused on the kid, he was messed up. I know that my efforts helped this guy, but I never knew for sure. 30 years later - I know I was right, and have been involved in several more. Empathy for your fellow man - I call mine -the John Wayne Principles. Cheers to you and yours!
MY PREVIOUS POST DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO INCLUDE THIS REFERENCE
Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, USA (ret.), On Combat (2008) Lieutenant Colonel Grossman attributes the sheepdog analogy to a Marine veteran of Vietnam. I came across this whilst reading a thesis by Gary Russell Bowen, LCDR, USCG.
If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy, productive citizen: a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath--a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? Then you are a sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero’s path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.1
Im a liberal but I'm also extremely pro-gun. Every facist government made guns illegal. We can't truely be free and have any liberty if we cannot defend ourselves.
i carry a knife every day that im not in school the cool thing about that is being 14 i can claim ignorance if the knife i happen to be carrying is over the legal 3 inch limit i might get a slap on the wrist and a dont do it again but the consequences are much less severe than if i were an adult. i do have seen a car accident when a car was tipped on its side and a man was still in the car that day i had forgotten my knife so i could do nothing i regretted that for a week and im only 14
I've experienced that paralyzing feeling before of seeing something go down in front of you and thinking to yourself "I'm not going to get hurt for this person I barely know." Fortunately, nobody got hurt and while I was observing, I was also on the phone with 911. But I'll never forget that feeling and I told myself then that I never want to experience that again. This video reminded me that I need to seek training or whatever it is to better myself so that I can react appropriately next time.
guess ima sheepdog. this is why i cant go to any of the occupy protest because i couldnt stand there while some1 not defending themselves are being harassed by cops. id end up getting shot or going to jail for a long time
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wow I cant believe how stupid this shit is. You people who listen to this is wasting your lives. Stop worry so much and just live your life. If america get invaded we are fucked, and watching this nutnfancy tool shoot paper tagets in the desert is not going to make you a better person bc you can shoot a gun! Sheepdog my ass, we are the sheep and the government are the dogs.
@slbusta1023 Hey guy, you're in the wrong place to be pandering that "be a blind, ignorant sheep headed down the chute to the slaughter" lunacy. You missed the point entirely of Nutn's video and you WILL NOT be convincing anybody here with your garbage. Nutn teaches preparedness, being alert, being sure in your own skills and having the courage to confront any situation when most people would cower. Be a good sport and show yourself the door, you're done here.
hahaha okay. So just keep wasting your time and money on gun shit that you will ever use. Its just not practicle i just dont see the point. We are all "blind, ignorant sheep headed down the chute to the slaughter". none off you who belive this shit are not soldiers and never will be, so just give up and live you life and dont worry about killing people.
@slbusta1023 You don't "see" the point, yet you're going to lecture me and tell me how to live my life. Someone is only blind and ignorant if they choose to be, which you seem to have done so. It's about self defense, being a soldier is a moot point. You say: Don't worry about killing people. We don't. Law abiding citizens doesn't own guns with the intent to hurt people. Guns are like an insurance policy, better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
@slbusta1023 Live my life. That I can abide and intend to do. Just give up. Now that I can't abide. What a weak and sorry philosophy to live by... for someone to just give up amongst adversity and be a pushover. Be a man. Fight for what is just and good. I hope you're right though, hope I never use my gun. But if a situation presents itself, I will protect my life and liberty and that of those around me even if it kills me. What's more worth dying for: Life and Liberty? Or nothing?
Im not saying just let people push you around. Every one should stick up for them selves, but if some one puts a gun to your head theres nothing your nutnfancy videos can help you with. And i own a single barrel shotgun for my house, but owning a fucking ak 47 or ar 15 for self defense is just stupid waste of money. You dont need to go out to and run around playing army man. Thats not self defense its making a tool of youself. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS POINT AND PULL THE TRIGGER.
@slbusta1023 Sure, guns are used for killing, I never argued against that. I said I'd rather not use it on a human if I could help it. I carry a pistol for the same reason you have a shotgun in your house. I also carry because it is my Constitutional right as an American citizen to do so. Say what you want about AK-47s and AR15s, but the fact of the matter is that the 2nd Amendment allows us to bear arms, and that right shall not be infringed.

@slbusta1023 If you've got a gun to your head, you're right, there aren't very many options besides making your peace with God. But Nutn's videos aren't about that. They are about being prepared and preventing situations ever coming to something like that. If you think everyone should stick up for themselves, then what's wrong with being prepared? You have your pop gun, others have their AK-47s and ARs. There's nothing wrong with preparing and practicing for any situation.
There were psychological studies done on this "sheep mentality" about ppl in groups. People become more passive in groups-each somehow waiting for the other to act first. And once one person does act the others are more likely to follow suit. It also found that if the person was in the same situation alone, they were more likely to act then when in a group.
In other words people: NUT-THE-FUCK-UP and don't wait for someone else to do it when you see some bullshit going down.
What I have said our world is missing is A TRUE HERO. Where R they?! Sports stars? They fight dogs. Movie stars? They are clueless. Soldiers? Some still are not aware of what is actually going on. They same can be said of police. Firemen? Same thing. A stranger? We all have the ability to be a SHEEP DOG , A TRUE HERO. But can they STEP UP!? Can they stand the wall at night as the beasts climb up? Can they stay until others R safe? Where R the heros? I pray i will be ready and stand the line.
For anyone who's interested, the Hollywood movie "To Hell and Back" is the semi-biographical account of Audie Murphy's military career during WWII. Good movie and it covers the account of Murphy repelling a German advance that Nutnfancy spoke of.
Thanks Nutnfancy for this vid. Even though you've mentioned sheepdogs many a time, this video did need to exist. Great job and I look forward to more of your videos!
How did I miss this vid? now I finally get the sheepdog concept. The A-team would be major sheepdogs if they were actually real. I feel so much better when I carry my Sog Trident with me knowing that it could potentially save someones life. I herd about one guy who saved a womans life because her scarf got caught in an escalator and was strangeling her and he cut it off with his swiss army knife! I want to be that sheepdog to save someones life sometime.
@JetMechMA Second Video In 20 minutes that I've seen you calling Nutn out on word choice...You obviously have nothing to bring to the conversation other than criticizing semantics so Kick rocks Troll Boy...
As have most, I've had the privelage of attending a Dave grossman seminar. To my taste, you have not adequately cited him. Legally.....yes. adequately, no. A few name drops and a one line at the bottom of the notes for the video do not cut it.
Great Video!! I am a novice in the TACTICAL firearms world, but as a martial artist and handgun carry permit holder I support your perspective on this issue. I feel that people like me have an obligation to protect those around you who cannot protect themselves. I think one of the most important things about being an American is the ability to band together to protect each other against "wolves" regardless of political or religious disagreement. Thanks for all your great work!
I'll never forget that day, I was 17 and lived in the area at the time. The next day listening to the morning show on DC101 (Howard Stern live on the radio), Stern poked fun at the crash on his show and called Air Florida to ask what the fare was for a one-way ticket from the Washington National Airport to the 14th Street Bridge.
I agree with the concept in the sense that the majority of the population are mindless sheep. Is there also a farmer in this analogy; who regularly fleeces the sheep? And sometimes loads them into trucks to be auctioned or slaughtered. Oh wait! ... that would be government.
@CaptainObvious1970 Bow wow, buddy. Deapite your painfully obvious ignorance and lack of imagination (yes the government is the source of all strife that ever occurred, ever) I will still willingly help you whenever you need it.
This is the part where you tell us you never need help and would never call the police and that the military is nothing but government pawns. Now repeat after me... "baaaaaaah."
@d33g1 Very nice. Your assumptions indicate how small and narrow your mind is. Because I personally have never needed to rely on government does mean it is unnecessary. I really don't need to ask what your occupation is. It is obviously something that requires HEAVY supervision and outside direction. That lack of intellectual depth in your comments is really amazing. Uggghh ..
@CaptainObvious1970 Firefighters do need heavy supervision. You're right about that. Can you drop my battalion chief an email and let him know? He's been fucking around on amazon.com all day.
@CaptainObvious1970 Firemen DO need heavy supervision. You're actually right about that. Would you mind dropping my battalion chief an email, by the way, letting him know? He's been messing around on amazon.com all day
@d33g1 Firemen, although not requiring any great intellect, do perform a necessary function in any society. And they should be commended for the often selfless acts of courage they perform. Worthy of the title "sheep dog". Although they will probably be replaced by robots eventually.
@WTXaUDIOSweatshoP I'm not familiar with that. Is that Steven King drivel? Regardless, sheep are necessary, as are sheep dogs, attack dogs, and draft animals. I choose to be none of the above. Fuck the animal farm.
Sometimes people do nothing to help a dying person because in the US we live in a very litigious society. I know of a physician that was sued after saving someone's life on the street.
Hey Nutnfancy another place you will find "sheepdogs" are fire/ems personell. Maybe you should look into that since your interest in first aid things?
I live in Illinois, currently in Chicago. But im from southern IL,so I have the values, means, plan and even a base.. But I dont know anybody else with whom I can plan with..
I've been watching your videos for days now. And I have to say I completely agree with everything you're saying. You've been able to put what I've felt for a lot of my life into words.
One question I'd like to ask you is:
For people in countries where things such as firearms and knives are completely outlawed, what skill sets would be good for us to invest time in?
Preparedness is definitely something I can agree with.
Hey Nuts...Be proud of been you and ignore haters til they faid away ...;-)
This vid brought much joy to me .I bileve in every single word you spoke . It also brought a new dimension of oncept for me . I tought that the sheepdog concept was only applied to a "tactical" point of view. Now I get it ! Not that would have changed any oucome in my life, but I will know refer to it as Sheepdog instic or soul an idividual carry as a trait rather than just a "tactical" phylosofi.
great video nutn im in Va.( Newport News) and I believe in what your saying sad that we live in a world thats requires that we carry a means of protection for ourselves our family and for others thats why I wont go outside the house without means of protection I believe that its a crime if you are a cwp holder and dont fullfill that right by being armed at all times keep doing what your doing there are alot of people that believe in what your doing and I am one of them
Great video. I enjoyed the profiles of people performing heroic actions to save others. You seem very genuine and committed to this noble cause. Good job.
Canadian fan here. I'm hoping our new Conservative government repeals many of the laws inhibiting our right to self protection, concealed carry among them. The fact of the matter is that uniformed sheepdogs can't always be there, and rarely are, when the shit hits the fan. In most rural areas you have to wait 30+minutes for EMS to show up. When gun owners do protect themselves they get charged. It is, as you say, 'jacked up.'
you made me cry just by listening to the stories. you made me see life from a different perspective and i thank you for that. Honor to all those "sheepdogs" all over the world. awesome video. subscribed. thanks again.
There are different levels of bravery. It's 1 thing to face physical danger but there are other types of dangers i.e. jeopardizing your career or risking a criminal conviction to help others. Like the AC130 crew ignoring orders from a general to break station so they could continue protecting a team of "operators" ( Not a Good Day to Die/ Roberts Ridge ).
The sheepdog is no hero. He is just a man. I was saved in the military and it changed me. We are just thankful for what has been done for us and respect the responsibility to pass it on.
Thank you for being such a voice of old fashioned values and common sense. I appreciate that. I enjoy your videos, especially those dealing with issues such as this. Thanks again for all you do.
Please be a sheedog for the one point five million men, women, and children murdered in Iraq, the children did not fly planes into the world trade center.n
Brother, I am sending off your video to hopefully thousands of people we have communicated before, your triangle on your hat still pisses me off, upside down cross reminds me of the evil Vatican, moving nazis down the ratline to south america to become drug dealers, hitler and the vatucan, birds of a feather, same as oss, the forerunner to the Cia, moving the nazis down the ratline. I am sharing your video, I detest the upside down cross on your hat.
we kill bin laden the terrorists are planning some thing big for us and from what I can figure from this video the sheepdogs may only be the only thing standing between life and death
@giff74 not to start a youtube fight but the author of that book is a hack. he is not a seal and has never even served in the military. also seal team 6 is not and has never been real. it was a trick to make the soviets think we had more teams than we did at the time. disney actually owns the term seal team 6
I'm slowly building up my EDC set up, to help be prepared for situations. A nice little motto of a group I think i'm still in goes something like "It is better to die serving humanity then to live for ones self" which simply means live a life with the intention of better man kind no matter the risk, instead of living a life were you come first.
I have to be completly honest. I always thought you were probably kind of a tool This video and the close engage video have made me feel different. You seem to be somebody that is moved and motivated by similiar things. I think i def would like you as a person now, but i'll still never call my self a TNPer, lol. I just can't take that term seriously :). Good Vid!
sometimes you know people, hear about people, and you look up to them. you do so because they have a sense of honor, commitment or incredible skill level. for me, its been my father who taught me right and wrong, my first boss who taught me to always try your best and it wont matter if you fail, and also you nutnfancy. what you do is not just knife and gun reviews. youve given me (at age 19) a sense of perspective on alot of different things. Thanks Nutnfancy. TNPer for life
i dont think people get it....I was hanging with some friends at a dam, We have had some severe flooding where i live, someone decided to swim all the way accross and halfway they got a cramp.
EVERYONE around me froze when they realized what was happening. Me and a adult instantly jumped in and swam quickly to the victim. I didnt even know what i was doing in the process, it just takes over you.
If i can get the newspaper article i will try too.
Boy Scouts=Sheepdogs in training. I'm one of those guys that gears up for the the worst and always brings their best, I attribute this to my scouting career and how I was raised. I remember reading the "scouts in action" section in Boy's Life Magazine (boy scout publication) that shares stories of scouts using what they've learned to save others. If you support the sheepdog concept get your kids involved in scouts (Boy scouts or Girl scouts). And as always props to Nutn for a great vid
Hey, I have a question here. Say someone does go on a shooting (as someone did in Ohio recently). And you are the first responder with your own gun. How does someone differentiate you from the criminal shooter? If they see a man with a gun, they're probably going to react like you're the one shooting innocent people. This could be bad, especially if a cop arrives and sees you with your gun out. Any suggestions here? Should you try to hide the gun or something?
@thetiniestbullfrog if cops show up you drop the gun, put your hands up, say you have a ccl and tell them what's happening in the least amount of words possible. do not try to hide your gun, they will probably see it anyway, and you'll look suspicious for trying to hide it.
I would have to decide based on the situation like with that plane i wouldn't be going in the water because i'm an awful swimmer but if somebody goes ballistic when i'm oc-ing than i'm dam sure gonna try to stop it.
One more thing: i believe over 95% of our troops and law enforcement officers are GOOD HEARTED HEROES. Don't be fooled by those 5% that act like animals.
A man (or woman) has no greater love than to lay down his or her life for his fellow man (or insert your nationality here). We all have to die. I only hope my death has meaning, and what better way to die than to help someone innocent to live. Firefighter/E.M.T. for 17 years. We all stick together. We all help each other out. Good video, Nut.
Nutnfancy, you continue to inspire me with your powerful philosophy videos and incredible reviews. You could not be more right. The gear that you review could very well save lives when the chips are down. And the powers that try to take away the very tools that sheepdogs use to be heroes are jacked up. They are just wrong. Gun control is a horrible thing. Thank you for making this video. I recommend this video to everyone. Again, thank you.
If I could give this video 10 thumbs up I would....Ive just gotten done watching all of your philosophy vids....They are just great and I appreciate what you do! keep em coming! Stay vigilant my friend
MASS SHOOTING on Utoya Island near Oslo, Norway. Yesterday, July 22, 2011. One man shoots and kills more than 80 teenagers using pistol and M-16. He walks around for TWO HOURS on the island, taking time to EXECUTE the wounded, No one tries to stop him.
No one on that island was prepared for this. Would you have tried to stop him? Are you prepared to react in this VERY REAL situation? Do you own a hand gun, and can you use it?
Time to decide if you are a sheepdog, or a sheep.
What if you came acrossed someone carrying in a no carry zone. This question is for Nutn as a L.E.O. Lets say a sheepdog, and you glimpsed their peice under their coat? Also , plus p ammo in my gen 4 Glock 19?? yes or no?
@lithjimmy If you can use the +P without worrying about over-penetration, then why not? Do your research, and I'd check out some of the ammo tests on tnoutdoors9's channel. He has some great ammo tests, and you can see just how far your bullets will go through someone.
I have been watching your vids for a few months now and i really like this one you are a wise man, i love your reviews you do a great job and i thank you!
sheepdogs are the ones who step in and stop bullies at school, work and elsewhere. sheepdogs raise their voice in alert and rebuke questioning bs logic when some wolf tries to make oppressive policy on the people. sheepdogs are the ones who dont start fights but they will finish them. they are the ones who are down to earth & real with themselves and others. they are out there. if u dont agree with nutn then sadly, u must not have seen it. peace out.
@highonimmi ALL a matter of opinion. There are no "Sheepdogs", the concept is for ego trippers, who like to feel superior to other people, who love power, and control. Your description sounds like that of a fantasy super hero. Ask an innocent person who was physically abused by police if they think cops are "sheep dogs", to them they are wolves, and the underdog is the sheepdog. I hope you somewhat understand where im going with this..This concept is a fairytale.
This sheepdog concept is faulty. One could interpret a "sheepdog" in different ways, coming from different perspectives. I also find it rather bold to tag someone as "Sheep dog" or "bad guy". Say a crack dealer saves a child from drowning. Which category would he fit into? Putting labels on human beings is simple minded. You can't put a horizontal line, with a vertical line through it and say "This here is a sheep dog, this here is a bad guy".
WTF is this bullshit. There is no such thing as "sheep dog". There is only wolves and sheep. And wolves only crave power and control over others while the sheep sleep until they awake and realise how badly they get fucked by the wolves, then the sheep become wolves. Sheep dog my ass.. lol WTF is this delusional bullshit. A policeman is a wolf that is paid to inflict pain and violence. A criminal is an unpaid wolf that does the same thing. The police should stop thking its noble. ITS NOT.
@Zbzhnt i dont agree with u. a wolf is malevolent aggressor who doesnt care about others. their objective is to get theirs and screw everyone else. a sheep is the person who keeps themselves emotionally protected by not seeing what is really around them. they think if they dont acknowledge the bad things nothing bad will happen. the sheep dog is the person who is neither the aggressor nor the sheep. they seek the truth no matter the cost. they r the protectors of the flock.
@highonimmi I agree with nighthawk. Its a bunch of pretentious bull that someone from law enforcement cooked up to feel noble and heroic. Police thugs are brought up in the ideology that their work is noble and people cannot protect themselves. The fact is, the police are wolves (Evident by their egos) who prey on the people by "fishing" for people and anytime someone acts in self defence, criminal charges are readily brought on. Paid thugs that use Violence to create Order. LOL. What a joke.
@Zbzhnt i was cop. there were wolves in the group. but there were alot of sheepdogs as well. u dont have to be a cop to be s sheepdog. i consider SD's to just be unassuming people who do the right thing when it needs to be done and possess a protective, nurturing soul. the vid says that not all cops, first responders or soldiers are sheepdogs. but, those who tend to have a protective heart tend to gravitate to jobs that allow them to use this asset. u cant say all cops are bad. i wasnt.
@highonimmi Thats pure fantasy and it needs to be stomped on before someone gets hurt. Psychology 101 tells you that all humans care for each other as a survival instinct. The ones who dont are mentally ill psychopaths. Easy as that. The people who sometimes freeze do so because of a psychological sense of being overwhelmed. Other factors like fear and peer pressure also play a role. Its not because they dont care or are shielded. Also, people freeze sometimes, and other times they dont.
@highonimmi Also being a policeman, you are brought up in this ideology therefore you are prone to psychologically accepting this without questioning its validity, which is exactly what happened. How can you say no to something which makes you feel good? Haha. Pyschology 101. Ive seen plenty of sheep respond well to emergencies when they are "awakened" and taught responsibility. The sheepdog fairy tale is something which ive also seen in stereotypical movie characters. Which is where it belongs.
@Zbzhnt i WAS a cop. i believed we were honor bound to not be above the law. i stopped being one for many reasons...one being i couldnt take the heartache of watching the predatory civilians ripping their fellow man to pieces day after day. living in uganda i can see why u dont believe in an honorable cop. i had friends in school whose family ran like hell to get out of countries like that. u know less of psychology of the western world. ure comments betray ure anarchistic endoctrination.
@highonimmi Police system has failed. It has turned people from humans into "shielded sheeps" which are then preyed on by police thugs. Even if you dont prey on people, you are still bound by law to enForce brutal and unfair laws on people, which makes you complicit. Criminals & Police are scared of a public that knows how to fight. They want a timid and obedient public. When police kills a man, its always called self defence & the investigation is done to support that. Lookup Katrina killings.
@Zbzhnt again. u use a few bad apple occurances to prove ure point. in any system there are going to be shortfalls and abuses. u believe their should be no law enforcement. what should take its place? not all plice shootings are no billed or found justified. now, i do agree that a corrupt government wants an ignorant, pliant, unarmed citizenry. one group of people u keep forgetting to place the majority of responsibility for allowing corruption of any system are the people of said country.
@highonimmi There is no room for shorfalls and abuses in a position of power. If you dont bring attention to the thugs, then you are also complicit. Police force is loyal to "its own" in a tribalist way, which is very wrong. Its exactly why the system has failed. The wolves run the show now. Enjoy your the last of your freedoms while there still a couple left. I think the last one to go will be freedom of movement. You know what that is.
@Zbzhnt with u everything must be perfect. ule never be happy i see that. u say people can govern & police themselves. but, people are as human as the cops. that means once the people have the responsibility to protect society and eliminate the bad element they will be corrupted by their new role. you're saying not one person would be temtped to use that power to punish or eliminate a person they are mad at or is in their way? history tells us people arent perfect no matter who they are.
@nighthawk5551 hun, ive seen it in real life. the bad cops. no one here is denying they exist. i worked with those idiots. what ime saying is u dont have to wear a uniform to be a kind, caring, protector. y'all need to stop saying that due to a few asshole badge heavy pricks all cops are nazis. they arent. people who love power, control and ego trip are wolves in sheepdog clothing. that's like saying all men are violent women beaters cuz a few get their jollies from beating women. stereotyping
@highonimmi Also, if you arent a bad policeman, then you should expect to be fired for not "enForcing" oppressive laws and oppressive applications of good laws. Remember that the Gestapo was a law enForcement agency which was only following the oppressive laws and practices. A public taught to be responsible and strong doesnt need governing. The bad apples get separated really fast. Every oppressor is first a defender. Police is an oppressor in guise of a defender. Read Aristotle.
@Zbzhnt from what ime getting from ure comments u believe ALL cops are stormtroopers who are just strong armed thugs for the power elite. i would hate for that to be true. the majority of us were raised to be responsible. yet, there are quite a few who arent. thus, we have people who are there to take those "bad apples" off the streets. if the police arent here to do the work most wouldnt do then who, vigilanties? that sounds like anarchy, to me. aristotle is a sexist, bigoted elitist ass.
Thanks to the intro I recalled inserting myself into a fight when I was about 16 because it was the right thing to do. The fight stopped I guess because others realized I was right. It was a unique experience for me because I felt no fear.
I do not always agree with this guy, especially in matters of side arm choices, but I am with him 100% on this video. My best friend used to have trouble with the neighborhood gang members. He went to a different highschool than I did and there would be about ten of them waiting on him to get off the bus. Everyday I would wait at the stop for him and we would both take an asswhooping together. Props to him for getting off of that bus everyday too. The streets can be hard but I am better for them
Thank you Nutn for representing the AF Security Forces in this video @ 24:00. Were not some elite task force. I am just some guy with a badge protecting the base for my shift. But everyday I go to work with the mindset that I am the one responsible. The one that makes sure those kinds of things do not happen.
Great video. Unfortunately the far left in this country wants us to depend on the government, not each other, thus all the laws that cannot be enforced. I would encourage anyone thinking about carrying concealed to sign up and take a class (hopefully with a good instructor). It really opens your eyes to the responsibilities entailed with the decision. Nutnfancy's concealed carry protocol video is top notch as well.
this really reminds me of 9/11. the 343 men and women that died knew they were not gonna make it out. but, they could not just stand there and watch others die they had to do something.
hey nutn' , great vid as always, I own a xd-9mm and i often wonder what to do if I am in a store thats being robbed at gunpoint? what if i have family with me? what if the robbers decide to search everyone for money? i really value your opinion please respond. thanks
The modern soldier is effectively no better than that bloke in "A Serbian Film" - they're effectively assigning over their individual moral compass to the will of oligarchs. I find it exceedingly difficult to respect anyone who assigns their thinking to someone else, especially when the assignee is the state. The sheepdog is effectively the last true soldier, the anti-mercenary
Criminals find ways to get guns. There's nothing that anyone can do to prevent this. Gun control? This translates to: taking guns away from responsible people, while criminals continue to find guns to commit crimes. Gun control will never work.
Sheepdogs carry registered firearms, they pay for training, spend money to become proficient with their weapons. Why? Because they feel the calling to stand between the criminal and their prey.
Pass laws that support sheepdogs, not gun control.
Echt? Ik wist van die wapen vergunning maar niet dat je er een Mocht dragen met een andere vergunning. Maar voor messen is 9 centimeter toch een limiet voor het dragen?
Better yet they should play all of his philosophy videos in police training. Most cops are great guys and gals but I have been stuck dealing with some that just think everyone is against them.
I am EMS, studied hard and worked hard to acquire the skills needed to acquire the title of paramedic. What I am not is a CCW holder. In Canada it is unfortunately illegal to carry a ''weapon'' on yourself to be prepared to protect against a threat. It really is a shame that our society emasculates sheepdogs (no pun intended for our sisters, truly), not allowing citizens to be as prepared as can be. Btw, watchmen so rarely get recognized for their work, shame really. Thank you for this.
On Audie Murphy :When asked after the war why he had seized the machine gun and taken on an entire company of German infantry, he replied simply, "They were killing my friends." What a hero. What a hero
@Theunit236 That is not true. You can get a gun permit in the Netherlands as well, own 5 firearms, keep them at home and even get a permit for concealed carry. All you have to do is show that you understand gun safety and are of stable character by training for a year under supervision at a gun club and not have a criminal record. Knives, even military combat knives like the KA-BAR, can be purchased at outdoor-survival shops (online and regular).

ThePhe32 2 days ago
If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy, productive citizen: a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath--a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? Then you are a sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero’s path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.1

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS POINT AND PULL THE TRIGGER.
slbusta1023 1 week ago

I agree with the concept in the sense that the majority of the population are mindless sheep. Is there also a farmer in this analogy; who regularly fleeces the sheep? And sometimes loads them into trucks to be auctioned or slaughtered. Oh wait! ... that would be government.

One question I'd like to ask you is:

Preparedness is definitely something I can agree with.

Should you try to hide the gun or something?
thetiniestbullfrog 5 months ago
@thetiniestbullfrog if cops show up you drop the gun, put your hands up, say you have a ccl and tell them what's happening in the least amount of words possible. do not try to hide your gun, they will probably see it anyway, and you'll look suspicious for trying to hide it.

sheepdogs are the ones who step in and stop bullies at school, work and elsewhere. sheepdogs raise their voice in alert and rebuke questioning bs logic when some wolf tries to make oppressive policy on the people. sheepdogs are the ones who dont start fights but they will finish them. they are the ones who are down to earth & real with themselves and others. they are out there. if u dont agree with nutn then sadly, u must not have seen it. peace out.
highonimmi 6 months ago
@highonimmi ALL a matter of opinion. There are no "Sheepdogs", the concept is for ego trippers, who like to feel superior to other people, who love power, and control. Your description sounds like that of a fantasy super hero. Ask an innocent person who was physically abused by police if they think cops are "sheep dogs", to them they are wolves, and the underdog is the sheepdog. I hope you somewhat understand where im going with this..This concept is a fairytale.
nighthawk5551 6 months ago

ITS NOT.
Zbzhnt 6 months ago
@Zbzhnt i dont agree with u. a wolf is malevolent aggressor who doesnt care about others. their objective is to get theirs and screw everyone else. a sheep is the person who keeps themselves emotionally protected by not seeing what is really around them. they think if they dont acknowledge the bad things nothing bad will happen. the sheep dog is the person who is neither the aggressor nor the sheep. they seek the truth no matter the cost. they r the protectors of the flock.
highonimmi 6 months ago
@highonimmi I agree with nighthawk. Its a bunch of pretentious bull that someone from law enforcement cooked up to feel noble and heroic. Police thugs are brought up in the ideology that their work is noble and people cannot protect themselves. The fact is, the police are wolves (Evident by their egos) who prey on the people by "fishing" for people and anytime someone acts in self defence, criminal charges are readily brought on. Paid thugs that use Violence to create Order. LOL. What a joke.
Zbzhnt 6 months ago
@Zbzhnt i was cop. there were wolves in the group. but there were alot of sheepdogs as well. u dont have to be a cop to be s sheepdog. i consider SD's to just be unassuming people who do the right thing when it needs to be done and possess a protective, nurturing soul. the vid says that not all cops, first responders or soldiers are sheepdogs. but, those who tend to have a protective heart tend to gravitate to jobs that allow them to use this asset. u cant say all cops are bad. i wasnt.
highonimmi 6 months ago
@highonimmi Thats pure fantasy and it needs to be stomped on before someone gets hurt. Psychology 101 tells you that all humans care for each other as a survival instinct. The ones who dont are mentally ill psychopaths. Easy as that. The people who sometimes freeze do so because of a psychological sense of being overwhelmed. Other factors like fear and peer pressure also play a role. Its not because they dont care or are shielded. Also, people freeze sometimes, and other times they dont.
Zbzhnt 6 months ago
@highonimmi Also being a policeman, you are brought up in this ideology therefore you are prone to psychologically accepting this without questioning its validity, which is exactly what happened. How can you say no to something which makes you feel good? Haha. Pyschology 101. Ive seen plenty of sheep respond well to emergencies when they are "awakened" and taught responsibility. The sheepdog fairy tale is something which ive also seen in stereotypical movie characters. Which is where it belongs.

@Zbzhnt i WAS a cop. i believed we were honor bound to not be above the law. i stopped being one for many reasons...one being i couldnt take the heartache of watching the predatory civilians ripping their fellow man to pieces day after day. living in uganda i can see why u dont believe in an honorable cop. i had friends in school whose family ran like hell to get out of countries like that. u know less of psychology of the western world. ure comments betray ure anarchistic endoctrination.
highonimmi 6 months ago
@highonimmi Police system has failed. It has turned people from humans into "shielded sheeps" which are then preyed on by police thugs. Even if you dont prey on people, you are still bound by law to enForce brutal and unfair laws on people, which makes you complicit. Criminals & Police are scared of a public that knows how to fight. They want a timid and obedient public. When police kills a man, its always called self defence & the investigation is done to support that. Lookup Katrina killings.
Zbzhnt 6 months ago
@Zbzhnt again. u use a few bad apple occurances to prove ure point. in any system there are going to be shortfalls and abuses. u believe their should be no law enforcement. what should take its place? not all plice shootings are no billed or found justified. now, i do agree that a corrupt government wants an ignorant, pliant, unarmed citizenry. one group of people u keep forgetting to place the majority of responsibility for allowing corruption of any system are the people of said country.
highonimmi 6 months ago
@highonimmi There is no room for shorfalls and abuses in a position of power. If you dont bring attention to the thugs, then you are also complicit. Police force is loyal to "its own" in a tribalist way, which is very wrong. Its exactly why the system has failed. The wolves run the show now. Enjoy your the last of your freedoms while there still a couple left. I think the last one to go will be freedom of movement. You know what that is.
Zbzhnt 6 months ago
@Zbzhnt with u everything must be perfect. ule never be happy i see that. u say people can govern & police themselves. but, people are as human as the cops. that means once the people have the responsibility to protect society and eliminate the bad element they will be corrupted by their new role. you're saying not one person would be temtped to use that power to punish or eliminate a person they are mad at or is in their way? history tells us people arent perfect no matter who they are.
highonimmi 6 months ago
@nighthawk5551 hun, ive seen it in real life. the bad cops. no one here is denying they exist. i worked with those idiots. what ime saying is u dont have to wear a uniform to be a kind, caring, protector. y'all need to stop saying that due to a few asshole badge heavy pricks all cops are nazis. they arent. people who love power, control and ego trip are wolves in sheepdog clothing. that's like saying all men are violent women beaters cuz a few get their jollies from beating women. stereotyping
highonimmi 6 months ago
@highonimmi Also, if you arent a bad policeman, then you should expect to be fired for not "enForcing" oppressive laws and oppressive applications of good laws. Remember that the Gestapo was a law enForcement agency which was only following the oppressive laws and practices. A public taught to be responsible and strong doesnt need governing. The bad apples get separated really fast. Every oppressor is first a defender. Police is an oppressor in guise of a defender. Read Aristotle.
Zbzhnt 6 months ago

The modern soldier is effectively no better than that bloke in "A Serbian Film" - they're effectively assigning over their individual moral compass to the will of oligarchs. I find it exceedingly difficult to respect anyone who assigns their thinking to someone else, especially when the assignee is the state. The sheepdog is effectively the last true soldier, the anti-mercenary
heratus007 8 months ago

What a hero

I'm living in the Netherlands so I can't carry a gun or good knife to protect my family, friends and other people.
Theunit236 8 months ago
@Theunit236 That is not true. You can get a gun permit in the Netherlands as well, own 5 firearms, keep them at home and even get a permit for concealed carry. All you have to do is show that you understand gun safety and are of stable character by training for a year under supervision at a gun club and not have a criminal record. Knives, even military combat knives like the KA-BAR, can be purchased at outdoor-survival shops (online and regular).
