I'm sorry but thats so true, there's nothing to special about bass if you pick. Then it's just like guitar (in bass clef), you can't pop, slap, two-hand tap, etc. Picking limits bass in so many ways.

picking gives a better tone, i do use fingers n slap n stuff for ratm n stuff but i use pik for other things that are not specified
