Intel is phasing out the processors its using (65nm) so apple will have no choice but to upgrade to a 45nm Intel processor. I hope that when they do they also move to non-intel IGP graphics solution! and while they are at it an all-aluminum body and a mini displayport port since the new LED cinema displays only have that input.
oh yeah you can, the new battle fild is out for mac, and you can run windows in three diffrente ways, so yes you can, BUT you cant upgrad this mac mine a lot, if your like A HARD CORE gamer, get i ther a imac, or if ur looking of power a mac pro, both can be upgarded a lot more, and both are fast, but more espsensv....blablabl
@XxXpapaz If you're into gaming, then I would suggest a PC. If you have the skills, then you should definitely build it yourself too. It saves you a lot of money, and it guarantees that you get everything you want, while eliminating all the bloat ware that comes on PCs
i bought a mac mini about 3 months ago. And i play WoW on it no lagg at at all. Its not very good for gaming. But i have a 360 online so i dont care. Gamertag is Alertlonestar
Hey. I was thinking about buying this computer because I heard that it was good for recording and has a lot of good features. Do you think that this computer would be good for recording my guitar tracks?
Just a quick note, if you use it for recording, you need a powered aux input. I originally tried hooking regular voice mics to it but later ended up going to a USB powered one. Other than that it's pretty nice for Garage Band. I think that's maybe the one app I've neglected though...Anyway..hope that helps!
I'd say look at two things, your budget, and what you want to do with it. If you have the money available, I don't think you'll regret the iMac, but the Mac Mini also works very well. Good luck!
thanks! i've found one iMac on the ebay , it costs 400 euros(i'm from russia sorry fo my bad english) and i chosing between the new Mac Mini , which i can buy in the official Apple center and...the iMac which has been already used...=)
The fade editing was a little awkward, but the information that you provided in the video was pretty straight forward. Maybe if you incorporated 10 to 20 seconds of using it (Opening up a few programs, running something on Windows/OS X) just to see how responsive it is. I would try not to make it too drawn out though, since just watching someone surfing the web can get boring relatively quick.
Hi! It plays well actually, just make sure to get your ram up. I'm using 2 GB (possible overkill) but it plays great. I played WoW before with the 512mb (standard), but it really doesn't play well. It's not great graphics, but it works. My suggestion is you game is go for an iMac, and you won't regret it.
I like NewEgg and Tigerdirect, they seem to both offer good deals online, if you get it at a retail store you'll pay about 20% more than you would online. Good luck!
Hi Xboxdude, the mac will work with pretty much any monitor you can plug into a PC, be it one that takes DVI or VGA (99% of the monitors on the market fall into one of these two categories). So short answer, yep!
Nice review. I'd like to switch a few months from now. I'm suprised you mentioned it not being great for video edit. I've heard many good things about iLife and was hoping to use it for the music and video editing. Do you mean I should consider something else if I want to use profesional software or just editing in general?
Hi! Thanks for the comment! Most people I know that use it more professionally often wish they would have gone for a higher powered system, so depending on how much you intend on pushing it, will depend on whether or not you will need to consider getting a better system. I think you'll be fine, but just giving a heads up! Hope that helps!
Hey, I like your review was great, and I concider getting one of these, but the only thing that bothers me, is that the Mac Mini is twice as expensive in Denmark(where I live, than it is in America. So that is the only thing that sucks ass! ;)
Thank you! For that price I'd really think twice as well. If the iMacs aren't as expensive [i.e. twice the price] I'd consider getting one of them. Personally...I'd also suggest holding out until Leopard is released (Oct '07 if you can wait that long also.
Great Review! I also have a mini and switched from a DELL about a year ago. I would totally agree about the issue of it not being a gaming system.. Although, I do play WOW on it and I haven't had any issues. I know for me this was the best way to switch over to Apple since I allready had a LCD monitor. Great job kroneko!
Great review - Im seriously thinking about getting one of these. dont know whether to wait for new OS to come out - not long now though - some time next couple of months.
Glad you enjoyed the review! I'd personally suggest waiting until they unveil Leopard, if you can hold out for the next few weeks/months as they'll probably unveil a faster version of the mac mini at the same price with additional features. Thanks again!
Hey, im just gonna be using it for a bit of video editing (as in making game montages like mw2) general use and a maybe a bit of WoW here and there.
Do you think it can handle that???
Thanks
