What a delight to see this aircraft. Bud Willson was my dad and he and Chuck rebuilt the wings on this aircraft in our basement. I still have the original prop that was damaged when Commander Downey made an emergency landing in the Morton Arbouretum. Great to see the ol' meyers is going strong.
This is Chuck Downey's1941 "Fly Navy" Meyers OTW (my father-in-law's) airplane. (Love the squeaky brake on run up...and I miss the smell of the Warner engine)
My husband Charlie proposed to me on the wing of this airplane!
