Actually, if you could move past what your pastor must be telling you, the King James version is simply one English translation among many. Not the first, not the last, not the best and not the worst Englsh translation. BUT, definitely NOT the "original version". The Bible was originally written in primarily Hebrew and Greek languages.

I do so hate to say this, but the NIV leaves out some very critical words. eg: Man shall not live by bread alone (then it stops), the KJV continues with ... "But by every word of God.
However, I love it when Hollywood's folks come to faith in Christ. THAT is the real miracle

The bottom line is this, I can't convince you because your mind is made up. It takes humility to question your heart if God may be real. Pride alone will keep a man from even TRYING to search God's word out. I can give you a huge testimony of the miracles God has done but most likely you would downplay it just because your heart is not open to recieve it. The NIV version has omited verses in the bible!! Wake up people and look it up yourself! Do no go by what actors are telling you. So far the original version is King James version. And I disagree with Denzel saying, " however you get there is fine as long as you get there". No, there is only one way and is also in the bible JOHN 14:6.Look it up and wake up!

Actually, if you could move past what your pastor must be telling you, the King James version is simply one English translation among many. Not the first, not the last, not the best and not the worst Englsh translation. BUT, definitely NOT the "original version". The Bible was originally written in primarily Hebrew and Greek languages.

Actually I think Denzel didn't mean how you get to salvation. I think what he meant was how you get to finding out about the Bible and Jesus and salvation and all the truths in the Bible.
My mom initially got interested in the Christian faith by reading an easy to understand version of the Bible, and that got her searching and began a long journey of seeking. Today she's a believer!!!
