I love the team name... very clever!! You guys are awesome! Let me know if you ever find yourself on the east coast, Salisbury Rollergirls would love to host you for a scrimmage!
Most comments are something toaAkin for dirty skating, however, when one looks back at the history of WFTDA at the start people needed to get some elbows under control
wow that was a 'intense' bout..... i watched this bout when it was played on the live stream and missed the reason why Slamiton was ejected.... i have watched it several time and cant see it being illegal.. the elbow/forearm did come up after the he had clearly seperated from #50 talarina....
as for the elbow at 55:51, why couldnt it be called the other way Bigtruckhauler??? blocking with the head since it appears the jammer runs into #13 G. No evil
HITS DO HAPPEN IN DERBY BUT a elbow to the head @55:51 by #13 and stopping on the track and lowering your shoulder into an oncomming players chest knocking then flat on there back is not only is it illegal(@55:56 by #100) but its a cheap shot to cause harm to that player. I don't know if you follow derby but there are lucky they both didn't get ejected.
@BIGTRUCKHAULER I'm 6'2, he is 5 ft. It wasn't intentional he was pretty low coming in. There was no call since it could have been called either way. Him leading with the head is just as illegal as me hitting him in the head. Lucky thing he was ok.
Also the reverse hit was legal, until the ref saw the follow through with the forearm. But Slamiton was ejected since it appeared like a hit to the head to the ref.
Thanks to the refs for keeping a very intense game somewhat under control.
@sanger11 That hit wasn't legal. Slamilton completely stopped his counter-clockwise motion. He was pushing off of his stopped toe-stops. He knew it was illegal. He heads right for the box. That is Slamilton's intimidation move. He's done it time and again.
Kudos to the refs for not putting up with that crap.
@swarms100 - Direction of Play illegal - Yes, and that was it. there was no forearm/elbow to the head, have a look at Talarina, holding around his chest/abdomen. Whilst it could fall under the egregious, however 'egregious' isn't defined in the Glossary, so this is going to be up to each Ref and the Bout Head Ref to apply what their definition of 'egregious' is. Unfortunately not being able to know what was discussed by the refs, we will never know. I'd guess serious physical threat
@swarms100 - Just after Slamilton hit Talarina there is a long single whistle with a Ref using a Major penalty signal, which is occuring at the same time as the jam end is being blown....
@0:56 Slamilton gets ejected for what? The announcers said "egregious forearm to the head"? Well he didn't hit him in the head. If that wasn't clear as a bell from the fact that dude was holding his chest for a minute after the play idk what is. It wasn't a late hit either as the whistles being blown were for other penalties, not the end of the jam. If they wanted to call something it should have been direction of gameplay as he was stopped when he made contact. That is not an electable offense.

Who won this bout? As far as I can tell, it was the Zebra Team.

men's derby will smooth out once teams start to skate DERBY well rather than SKATE well.

This bout is atrocious. Worst display of derby ever. 1 hour and 30 minutes for a bout?
