I know they went to the playoffs in 06-07, but the following year (the season before they won the 1st pick to draft Rose) they went 33-49 and missed the playoffs. Since that draft, Chicago's been to the playoffs twice, mostly due to Rose's play.

The other teams you mention have enough scoring potential to make the playoffs w/o a key player (look at Boston in 08-09'). LA could still make it since they have Odom, Gasol, and Artest. Miami could make it since they have Lebron and Bosh
