Wow this is jaw dropping, so calming, and the idea of wind turbines, hahah very good! And someone has real skills in photoshop, bravo!:) But whats with the related videos and some chinese girl squeezing her nips?:S
How could one get a home like this? Really like it!! I see the genius in it! I am currently shopping to buy a monolithic dome or very large geodesic dome home.
Has any been built yet? and idea what the price might be? i cant see one of these being under 1million >< not so great for "single family homes" as the average single family home makes 40,000... maybe downscale it a bit? best looking home I have ever seen though nice work
@3089280288 Are they up on the internet? Get him to post them. Does he have plans? Why can you buy a magazine /book of plans for shitty ranch style and cabins but not alternative housing? the alternative housing would sell better ! Tell your uncle it takes no capital to Publish a Amazon E book.
@3089280288 Get them scanned ( i think Kinko's has the big scanners) as PDF and post them to Amazon dot com for a dollar a peace...sell a million and you got a million dollars ! Would be cool to be able to see them. Who owns the copyright to them?
Very cool. I'm considering building a monolithic dome in the UK over an earthbag home because it will give me a few more options I don't have with the earthbag home. However, these homes are super cool and I can see them becoming very popular in the future. :)
A wider shorter tower used as a garage could support the house without digging to bedrock for a solid foundation and the reqisite cental elevator cost would be less. Overal, it was fun to see and tickles the imagination. Nice Job!
So many innovative ideas combined into one home is impressive but I see that reguardless of the 'cool' factor, this structure would be cost prohibitive for the amount of usable square footage. The supporting tower would cost far more than the house. The house would have to pre-fabbed on the ground and put in place by a crane. The vibration from the turbines could be isolated but nothing could be done about the noise. Plumbing would also be a problem. Water would have to be pumped to the house.
NICE, but I agree with fcycles, this needs to be made of steel reinforced high strength concrete. A strong rigid structure would prevent windmill noise from annoying the inhabitants. Also a good windmill design is almost silent, the coils can be designed to avoid that ratcheting/notching noise.
BTW Where is the observatory? I would want atleast 2 telescopes mount in it.
I don't see this design has beeing that great. The bottom of the structure are more vulnerable to earthquake. Wind turbines on the same level has the floor would generate noise that would have to be reduce.
I would like to see additionnal consideration in the home design such as:
- stronger and more durable structure
- smarter
- keep things minimalist (focus on basic needs inside a house and try to improve them)
I just loved your concept, you created in the paper the house of my dreams. Since i was kid, i imagine have a house like this! However you should place a light and discrete metal balcony on level 1 to allow residents clean the windows! Sorry my English. If one day i win a lotery, maybe you come to Portugal build a house to me! :)
@fcycles I think steel reinforced high strength concrete addresses your noise and stability concerns. That and a windmill properly designed has none of that notching noise.
Minimalist doesn't sell to people who can make this happen. Once these are built the knock-offs and minimalists will make their own versions. The second generation and clones are inevitably better than the original, just look at the iPhone, iPod etc...
i thought this house design had already been thought up by the jetsons. lol.

Green house top floor. More hanging plants. Add a pipe track on the south for the panels to track on.

Thank-you for your comment. We appreciate all input.
With regards to the base of the home, please note that is supported by a foundation which also doubles as a basement.
As for noise made by the wind turbines, it can be reduced by new, innovative technologies in this field. The turbines can also be shut off by brakes,
If you have any other comments please do not hesitate to contact us.
