  • this is not a true life cycle of a blue giant, also known as Hypergiant, star colapses when the presure in the core is so huge, that mater fuses into iron and higher.

    the reason for this is because it makes less energy than it creates and the blue gaint Is just one of the final stages of a star and Hyper gaints reach an amazing 2000 times bigger than the sun witch is very rare I do not belive they found any stars That may be formed into a hyper gaint any time soon

    Iron requires more energy to fuse than it creates, BUT this doesnt matter, because the presure is still huge enough for the fussion.

    If there were no heavier matter than the iron in the cores of supernovas, there wouldnt be any heavier matter than iron in the whole universe

  • my physics teacher told me that elements that are heavier than iron are made in a supernova explosion of a huge star as there is more than enough energy to produce them.

  • Your physics teacher is correct :) Nothing heavier than iron can be made by the crushing gravity the star generates alone. It is only when it explodes can it continue to make the heavier elements.
