@sofakifuckoff It was an hommage to the taxidriver ending ( you know the movie with robert de Niro) Also, the guy had a deathwish all through the movie. it was expressed by his mental instability (him hitting the walls, standing on the roofs, not being able tos leep etc.)
The young boy was the brother of his childhood friend. He has propably even seen him as a baby. He propably represeted what he still saw as innocence. Yet that innocence was no longer there just as his own was destroyed by war
@Frankydoesitalso The ending is more of a nihilistic way of saying that nothing good comes from war. See it more as a philosophical movie than just a straightforward action vehicle. The guy is very good at killing, but all he wanted was to go back to a life that no longer exists. Also, the deeper lying criticism on the fact that 9/11 and 7/7 was staged by the CIA was a very powerfull message to the viewers. the implications it had for the story made it all the more deeper...
really bad film! story line is VERY hard to follow and the ending is atrocious. Sorry. I did want it to be good :)

The movie is a chameleon. you think you are watching one thing, yet the underlying premises is far far deeper than it appears at first.
