@childmoon2000 FYI, Jarre was not the composer of this music... I know for a fact but won't tell in the name of business, as usual Big fish eat small fishes... (I'll say he was involved in the production though)

Nevertheless, Jarre is a genius and one of the greatest composers and pioners of all time.

@Karimodecrop "Revolutions" contains reworked samples of an unpublished composition by Turkish musician Kudsi Erguner, which Jarre had acquired from engineer Xavier Bellenger. Erguner took his case to court and won a modest indemnity. That said, I think Jarre and his brother completed and wrote most of the album.

My friend didn't like this when our music teacher played this at music's class when we we're studying musics history and specifically 1980's synthpop/electronic music. I thought it was cool that our teacher found this :D

I don't know. I was just giving my view on what I hear and feel when I listen to this music, because I'm in the west.

I suppose whatever society you are in there will be ideals of changing it from some corners of said society, its human nature.

'Revolution': a drastic and far-reaching change in ways of thinking and behaving; "the industrial revolution was also a cultural revolution."

Also the overthrow of a government by those who are governed.

For me its the depiction of life in the west - we give the outward impression of being free, but in fact we are all trapped.

Revolution against what traps us has been man's dream for centuries.

OK, but then, why the oriental chants and instruments? The term "revolution" significates here something orthodox or fundamental.

I really doubt it's that specifically aimed at any one religion or culture, it's simply about the build up that precipitates a revolution...perhaps even the French Revolution (he is French remember!)
