  • I just picked up an original Sizzix on eBay today because I want to do embossing and it's too hard to use the Fiskars embossing tool and texture plates with my tendinitis. I have a Cricut Expression and Make The Cut software, so I don't really need dies. Should I need anything except the Sizzix system converter, a spongy mat, & some shims in order to do embossing using texture plates? I know some plates won't fit, but I have no problem trimming them down a bit. I just like the lever vs. roller.

  • @gardenwife Sorry it has been so long since you posted this comment. Thank you for doing so.

In answer to your question....I don't know. I'm sure you would need a system converter for the bigger Sizzix, where you would put the shim or foam I don't know. I have some of the texture plates so I'll have to play around with them. I'm sure a heavier weight card stock would be better than text weight though.

  • I have a Big Kick and a Side Kick. They are so much fun!! Good lesson Leslie! :o)

  • Thank you. I can't wait to get the plates messy like my Side Kick is ;-)

  • Very informative. I love my Big Shot :)

  • Thank you. I have been coveting the Top Note die but it is a Bigz die. Too big for my Original machine. Now I need to figure out what to do with the both of them.
