  • The Icelandic Civil Defense network, is established to evacuate up to 5000 people in an immediate time frame of areas in these type events occurring in more populated areas...although sightseers, are not uncommon to be recovered fromt hese areas since the evnet.

  • winds created from temperature variances, can create microburst winds, updrafts, downdrafts, and windshear .

  • with lightning present in the areas, the volcanic cone, and crater can create its own wind pattern in immediate areas of an eruption, or as in an earthquake, an after shock. Semigraphical data although not included in this photo and video series, are no doubt present in areas, around the volcano when erupting.

  • the crevaces luckily created, signify future, or near time areas that can be effected, in this fire and ice type event. Ice, and glacial matter, prevented some portions of pumice from reaching higher atmospheric altitudes in part.

  • To determine, the semi size of the event, mappig of streams off teh flowage end of the glacier, and glacial areas, can be mapped and features recorded to determine amounts of pumice, and pyroclastic build ups like sand bars and partial, temporary hills or topograhical terrain features, usually after exposure to winds, and rain, can change dramatically in short time frames.

  • Including airborne paltforms, as the helicopter....

  • Pumice and pyroclastic debris suspended in the ai for extended amounts of time, may be confused with other low and mid level clouds at times by observatory areas.

  • pumice and pyroclastic debris elevated from ground to atmospheric areas, can fuse to fast moving parts of equipment on sea, air,and land causing vital weight balance changes hazardous to persons who may become stranded, injured, or lost in its immediate or vicinity areas.

  • true air quality measurements, although looking clear in these clips may seem clear, after rain or snow showers, further discoloration by pumice and pyroclastic debris cn be noticed collecting at ground stations, landmarks, and reporting points or outposts.

  • Unlike automobiles, aircraft a helicopter intakes are not as tolerant of ashes and pumice from these type geological events. The pumice and pyroclastic materials, are more rone to cause damages, to the components of interior mechanical components in a short time frame. The helicopter in the photo may take hundreds of hours to complete an engineering inspection of its parts to become airworthy just in the short flight we observe here in the video.

  • A similar eruption ocurred in 1998, where a Civil Defense Netwrok was activated on a smaller scale that did initiate evacuationof some populated areas as well, under the same glacial areas.

  • In these photos, the areas, where the ashes, and debris exelled out of the cone, or magma crater, are an average, 8 years of growth time for the grasses and mosses to form, because of the metamorphic process from magma to solid rock, and pumice layers, that are in the form of dirt, sand, ashes, and gravels, from the "lava bombs."

  • Newly formed areas of land or terrain features after an eruption, can take around 8 years to form mosses, photosynthesis type plants, and grasses to grow on pumice based dirts, rocks, and rock formations, created through a quick metamorphic process.

  • Volcanic ash can remain in ground areas, years after an eruption in areas where they effect air qualities and the molecular weight of them being so light, even makes the of volcanic dust, ashes, phenomina long after an eruption.

  • It was luckily a west to eastern wind pattern that day, or more densily populated areas could have been effected from the falling pyroclastic clouds, volcanic ashes, and debris. Aircraft flying in the areas, already risk fatal exposures, in ground areas.

  • we are all just ants in a sandbox

  • 5******

  • Братец от души.Кто исполнитель?

  • музыка в тему

  • @DerAdler82 sure man, s/he is informing you that the glacier itself changed massivelly on a short notice, and how easilly you can see that when flown over. glad to help. inTERNET AWAYY!!!

  • Someone could translate at 1:48 pls.

  • crying cats music?

  • My name is Dover. BEN Dover. The Filming is exxxellent

  • try pronouncing that name five times fast

  • Music makes me want to cry, even though nobody died.

  • don't fuck with nature

  • ...it's look like a lightning...7'th second- lower part of the dust cloud...interesting.

  • Look at all that man made pollution

  • iceland is the craziest volcano island i love and like it man!

  • whole video reminded me of Lord of the Rings. O_o

  • @livingroomsuperstar Tolkien was in a group which read Icelandic sagas in the original Old Norse, the names from Lord of the rings like wormtongue, Aragorn and many more are old Icelandic names

  • vá þetta er geðveikt flott =O

  • is it possible to demolish a volcano? mabey by setting off attomic bombs in it?

  • @greatsaif9000 that has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Go educate yourself, and get a spellcheck.

  • @miko1975guitar "that has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard" that's your own personal opinion, and i really don't care what YOU think....

  • @greatsaif9000

Don't be stupid. The volcano isn't the mountain or whatever, the volcano is the chamber of magma under the Earth, the mountain was just formed from lava. What a stupid suggestion.

Volcanoes are natural, and you can't stop them. Simple as.

  • @greatsaif9000 If you could erase the mountain, there would still be an eruption

  • But the eruption is over

  • I'm not saying it's not beutiful but I want to point out that Sigur Rós multiplies drama.

  • 2012

  • i live about 15 miles away from this amazing disaster. and there is ash everywhere. like you are driving though thick fog.

  • the power of nature is unbelieveble

  • The title of the song is Vaka (untitled track #1). You can find the song on the wonderfull album ( )

  • Yo Jonsi and Sigur Ros! I'm watching this video but playing Hengilas, from Jonsi's (lead singer of Sigur Ros) solo album "Go". It's a great accompaniament to a very good video. Thanks for sharing this.

  • what song is this, if you dont mind me asking?

  • @xbr00taln3ssx forget the name, but the band is Sigor Ros.

  • @xbr00taln3ssx Sigur Ros - Sigur 1

  • Volcano shows its strength and beauty ... nice shots :)))
