Awwww my first real love. We were 18 when this song came out. Such amazing memories, I loved this song, thank you for posting , I might never have heard it again!
What a great song. You can never beat the music from the 80's.The garbage that is played now is just that GARBAGE !!!!!!!!! Now in the word can anyone call it music.
@blvdbassguy ; I remember a quote; 'Most people lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song unsung.' There is a dearth of musical talent like this today with the phony choreographed and Autotuned productions they call music. How lucky you are to have 'sung the song'! This tune always brings a little ache to my heart and a tear to the eye. - Wayne :)
Another fantastic song! Their first album is absolutely amazing. This is one of the best songs. Thanks for this video, kurdtss!! Your videos are great!
I have the cassettes of the band, can't find the CD's anywhere. Big fan of the band. Does anyone know what ever happened to David Forbes the lead singer?
Blvd. kicks ass. A cover band performing at an Oakville (Ontario, Canada) street party in the 80s played 'Never GIve Up', and I was like, Whoa! This is a GREAT song! Found out it was a cover of a tune from ... Blvd. Bought the album and its follow-up. Thankfully, I now own both on CD.
Listening to this band, you can't help but feel a little better about life on this planet called Earth.
Really cool song! Too bad, most people don't know that this is only a cover version. The tune was originally composed and performed by the german band "Moonique". You can find this and other songs of them somewhere around here on YouTube. Check them out. To me they're even better...
Great Band!!! For those looking for there albums my wife was great enough to find me a copy on ebay this morning and there is a few left. Either to bid on or there is a store selling a few copies buy now for $2.63 and $3.50 shipping good luck .
adult oriented rock, it's a direction with in the rock genre and was originally focused on adults, all though I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than my explanation ;)
the sax enhanced it. I played sax in band in junior high and high school, I know how cool it is. The keyboard enhanced it, too, didn't kill rock like some claimed. Check out Van Halen Jump!
Do you or anybody have the CD for their greatest hits? It's been discontinued in CD stores and at amazon and e-bay, so I was wondering if I could buy it off of one of you guys. I'm in Coquitlam, a suburb of Vanocuver where this was filmed at Jericho Beach where I've been windsurfing! My name's Andrew, and phone # is 778-217-0444 PST. One of you could ship it to me if necessary. Thanks, and have a good day!
80's music was awesome! This is not cheese, but there was other cheese back then, like Corey Hart! Our parents think 50's and 60's were the best (They're 63 and 65, I'm 33), younger ones think 90's and 200's, us 30 and 40 yr olds know 70's and 80's were best! Sound back then w guitar, keyboard, etc, the feelings it created, was indescribable! Keyboard enhanced rock, didn't kill it! (Check out Van Halen's Jump or Journey's Don't Stop Believing!)
I'd like to know where this was filmed. Does someone know? It's not Rocky Point Park in Port Moody in suburban Vancouver, nor is the shot of the city Vancouver. It might be Seattle, cuz that's where David Forbes is from. Anyone know, or can tell me how to find out?
Its actually the pier next to the Jericho Sailing Centre in Vancouver. I know that pier and beach very well as I live 5 minutes away and walk my dog there all the time. The pier and the coastal mountains in the background are an an exact match.
How can it be there? The mountains rise from the ocean, and the city skyline, it's obviously vancouver! Someone answered that for me, was Jericho Beach where I've had windsurfing lessons! Ontario?!
Are you saying blvd crazylife video will be coming out soon? I can't find dream on and lead me on videos, that sucks! their CD has been discontinued. These guys were awesome, yet they fade into oblivion, and don't make it into rock hall of fame while Beatles do? Journey, triumph, Haywire, Loverboy, Ramones, manfred mann, AC/Dc, April Wine, Glass Tiger, Bryan Adams, to name a few, all deserve it much more than Beatles, same w blvd! 80's rocked!
Thank God for 80's cheese. Best music ever. Why do so many people think that if music isn't depressing and morbid then it automatically sucks? Why is it so bad to best happy? Like....fuck!?
If you like these guys (which I agree) you have to check out Roman Grey. One of the best melodic canadian groups out of the 80's. Very hard to find cd called Edge of the Shadow, yet they came out with 4-5 hits of that album, Check it out, it'll set you back like boulevard does!!!
Maybe the Canadian aor school is the best around.I love this band, this song, this video..It gives you a sense of liberty, like a sweet breeze blowing through your hair while you're drivin' your car.POSITIVE FEELINGS 100%!!!
i do, long story short the bass player, Randall Burgess, left the band after touring for this album, which had plenty of first album success, for family reasons and then Blvd put out a second album but it flopped and that was it for Blvd. im not sure what happened to most of them but the bass player is living in the states doing other things but from what i hear is getting back into things, he has a myspace, if your interested look him up of leave me a comment and ill find him url.
I'm Dave Forbes's Cousin 3 times removed (we're actually much closer than that might sound.) He is currently a Fire Fighter in North West Washington, he Is Married to Karen Forbes, and has two daughters (Nicole and Amy), and I believe two grand children. message me if you have any more questions about Him!
Since you're a cousin of Dave's, would you happen to know whatever became of Mark Holden, the sax player? What has he been doing since Boulevard broke up 18 years ago? Is he currently playing with a band?
I spent quite some time trying to track down the band/album for another song by BLVD, "Dream on"
"Dream on Dream on, never be afraid, it's just a moment away."
That song and 'Far from Over' are two of my all-time favourites. I finally found out the artist after so many years, bought the album off e-bay. Kept wondering why I can't find these songs and I heard it all the time when I was younger.

Truly love this song, after all these year....from 1:23 to 1:48 I still am note certain of the lyrics got most...missing something though
Remember the silent smiles, feelings beneath these eyes
Two young lovers running wild, it’s far from reality
Hoping ........
Together we realized that we were two open eyes, it’s far from reality

went to high school with the drummer, Randall Stoll. He was a big time RUSH fan and could play damn near everyone of RUSH's songs.
His brother was a helluva a bass player. they teamed up with a guy by the name of Rene and did a RUSH cover band in school. They were awesome!
Randall went on to play with KD Lang, Tom Cochrane and a host of other great players and bands
