This is great, what model Taylor is that? When I use the expression system, I always get a low hiss, as opposed to an external mic. Your guitar sounds very clean, what levels do you use on your expression system for recording?
It's a 314. I've used just about every pickup known to man. Never heard one yet that didn't yield a bit of hiss, especially after you add compression. The ES has no more than any of the others I've used. I just take it out with the noise reduction plug in Audition.
Volume is always full up on the Taylor. The Boss pre (like any pre) is where I have to be careful. For film work I keep everything nearly flat on the guitar. Live I boost both highs and lows a bit. It ain't perfect, but it's OK.
