  • Umm, Dude, I Think You Forgot That The Original DOOM Was Made In 1994, The Days Of Small Teams (In This Case id Was 10 People) In a Home, Maybe Garage (Instead Of Office Buildings Like Today) and Were Shareware (Sold Online ONLY and Like Half The Games Were FREE) and They Didn't Have Budgets Like Today To Buy The Rights To Music (They Made DOOM Lets Say In A House For Free, Where As Today They Would Have a Few Million Doller Budget) So They Remade Tracks And They Were "There Own"

  • I always thought so, this confirms it!!!

  • You should dedicate one to first

  • 11 people just got a rocket to the head.

  • thats awesome, thanks dude. im going to download all the dooms again and play them starting with doom 1

  • i still play all the dooms before doom 3 on a regular basis. I even have all the original packaging in good condition.

  • I`m pretty sure I remember 'Seasons in the Abyss' by Slyer being on the game some where?!

  • USE IT FOR WHAT ITS FOR!!!!!!

  • Hey this is pretty good :) Good job mate!

  • 3:15 recognized it IMMEDIATELY from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas :)

  • they need to do those kind of thing in these days games...would be so awesome

(sorry if my english is bad im french canadian :P)

  • thanks for posting. very interesting.

  • master of puppets and the track from the hangar sorry if you said it in the video im at the call of cthulu

  • @jiMrfuzzie No Remorse is the song that plays in that Hangar (E1M1)

  • HA! the first time i heard Them bones @ the bar i got really REALLY fooking scared.....

i was like ooooh noooooo... noooOOOOO!

  • you forgot alice in chains angry chair... don't forget about that one

  • them bones is the same on the game as it is on alice in chains, really,it's like the perfect 8bit version of them bones....with ciber demons, and posesed marines ;)

  • haha, This is Epic)))) LOL!)))

  • whats the name of the song, starting 5:28 ?

  • doom, not recommended for:

    cardiacs, scariest peapole, god, flanders....

  • haha,doom kicks metallica's ass.

  • now that you mentioned, theres a song from doom 2 (Running From Evil, mission 31) that sounds like sodom's axis of evil. however the sodom's song is from 2006 and doom 2 is from 1994.

  • The similarities between No Remorse and E1M1 are because both are fairly simple thrash metal riffs.

  • doom and metal ALWAYS go together............ oh, and beers too! :)

  • @ericthegreen3 this is true :)

  • @ReRemixedLive fuck yeah

  • @ericthegreen3 Her her her indeed sir

  • South of Heaven - Slayer check that out one of the songs in the game is based on this

  • Quite informative.

  • @hikarinoryu thanks:P

  • Actually there are 1 or 2 others that sync up VERY well , one being almost identical that you missed. And I'm the only person in all of the world that knows where the ending music came from :)

  • Doom is pure fucking metal awesomeness. Fact.

  • You are probably getting banned because you are including metallica songs..... Lars Ulrich is satan to digital music. He may not have ruined digital music entirely but he definitly pushed it onto a bad foot.

  • you got banned for exposing this?? i remeber back in the day saying man that sound like they they took that tune from pantera and stuff but dude you nailed all of them !!

  • And, listen South of Heaven - Slayer, and M07 - Dead Simple(Doom][)

  • hmm, in No Remorse, the similarity appears when g2 harmony enters

  • well dude Im not sure about (No Remorse) but the only song I could think of just now is (Vortex) by (Mega Deth) I'LL leave it that to you :)

  • @vest1020 appreciate the help! thanks

  • @ReRemixedLive While you are correct with the one you attributed to Slayer - Behind the Crooked Cross, I really don't think No Remorse by Metallica is correct for the one you assigned it to.

In actual fact, I would bet money that they are BOTH Slayer - Behind the Crooked Cross!!

Listen to it, the second one (I believe e1m1), which you assigned to No Remorse, is just another re-spin of the backing riff for Behind the Crooked Cross.

  • @bretto40 Actually, bretto40, ReRemixedLive did the info correctly on matching No Remorse of Metallica to Doom's E1M1(At Doom's Gate is the track name of the game's soundtrack). To prove my point, watch sonicclang's Doom E1M1 like No Remorse NOT Master of Puppets: Read the video description, and also read the annotations in that video. Either that or do some research on the music of the Doom series, bretto40.

  • @vest1020 Vortex was made way after doom 2

  • slayer was the easiest one for me.

  • Doom is a game for metalheads, by metalheads.

  • @DoomsdayOdd any i wouldn't have it any other way ;)

  • master of puppets is closer than no remorse by metallica on the part at around 2:40

  • @FeatherClint It's the chorus part from No Remorse.

  • @jacksprat1990 i know?

i was stating that the begining of master of puppets sounds like a better match

  • ha dude i noticed the same thing with the songs about 2 years ago. weird

  • you forgot the easiest one... Doom 2 map 10 song is based on Black Sabbath´s "After All (The Dead)" opening riff.

  • @rogerpenna yeah yeah yeah yeah i know!

  • @ReRemixedLive

so, it seems I am not the first to say it uh?? Haha, sorry man.

  • @rogerpenna ah no worries my friend! I'ma revise this soon i just figured i'd put some examples in rather than including them all. Seems like the viewers want to see them all so i'll put a new one up whenever i get some spare time. thank for the concern though !

  • If you can find the song E1M8 is based off, I will suck your weenie.

  • @TheMisterCat yeah its a sweet track for sure. I'd honestly have to believe that the ID crew composed it themselves cause i just can NOT find a song to match it. It does sound good enough to be a real song though

  • @ReRemixedLive my verison: /watch?v=EKMPR-Z4LDo

  • 3:58, HANGAR ASSO NO HANGER !!!!!

    LONG LIVE Megadeth \m/

  • @666Kleto666COG666 relax.. jesus christ does everybody on this website have a vise on their nuts and a broom handle up their ass?

  • these NOT doom2 songs!

  • @jmalinens Uh, yeah.. they are... Sure, some of them are on the first doom but i didn't honestly think anybody was that much of a stickler dick to give a fuck lmao

  • You missed a rather easy one: Alice in Chains' "Angry chair" is identical to map 25 music :)

  • alrighty thanks! Once i get some time i'm gonna make a new and improved comparison:P without blue text screens.. woo

  • instead of no remorse from metallica it should be master of puppets sinse it sounds the same

  • honestly there's no real determination of that song, my personal opinion is that it's a mixture of the chords from no remorse and master of puppets :P besides that nobody really has a clear, 100% idea of what they were attempting to depict

  • sweet... funny how such hard music is totally emasculated once digitized.

  • @Phoenix73nj i find it interesting ;P

  • 1 thing is true in this video. gamecreators and makers of whole doom seemsto LIKE METALMUSIC!! <3 xD

  • Actually any similarities between The music in DOOM and REAL MUSIC is completely intentional according to the game creators

  • I just downloaded Doom II but none of the music works v.v

  • too bad 2:48 is doom 1

  • The other pair of riffs in e1m1/no remorse is far more similar. Sonic Clang has a good explanation of it.

  • i think e1 m1 keyboard sound is from king diamond family ghost if you listen to the solo part of that song

  • They makers admit they used metal songs they did electronic covers of them and messed around with them so they could get that gritty feel for the game they admit it in a video about making the game

  • I think e1m1 was from metalica master of puppets intro. try listing to the drums it makes it easy to compare them.

  • its a very arguable one.. i'm not sure i can come to a steady conclusion

  • its no remorse, proven by the maker of the song e1m1

  • I always thought that E1M1 sounded more like Slayer's Kill Again.

  • im a huge slayer fan so i can see what you mean!

  • dude play dead simple and listen to the drums and figer that one out i found it like 10 mins ago my accouont is jackdorward

  • Slayer - South of Heaven =)

  • 4:18 powerrangers?

  • oh man i wish lol

  • I love how Doom 2 came out in 1995

When most these songs came out in the 80's or late 80's

Now Hanger 18 by Megadeth came out on "Rust In Peace" and that came out in 1990

  • i'm sure they were just honoring the classics, sort of like we do today :)

  • At least they picked good music!

  • Doom's E1M1 song its pretty look-a-like with metallica's master of puppets first shred.

  • There's lots of theories and opinions on the first one but my opinion is that Doom didn't COMPLETELY copy the Metallica song, maybe just certain riffs or whatever.. then made the rest of the stuff original

  • Your information on all of the DOOM songs are very accurate, ReRemixedLive.

    Pantera- Mouth of War, E3M1

Pantera- This Love, Waiting For Romero To Play

    Slayer- BTCC, E3M3

    Metallica- No Remorse, E1M1

Alice in Chains- Them Bones, Bye Bye American Pie

Hangar 18- Megadeth, Running from Evil

Metallica- The Call of Ktulu, E2M2

The reason I wrote that is because someone put a video of "Doom stole the music" on Youtube and got some of the songs mixed up, ReRemixedLive.

  • hey well thanks! yeah i saw that video too.. some ignorant person immediately assuming it was "stolen".. can't just respect a great game with great songs

  • @486251793 alice in chains with them bones ??? what song

  • Yes, the song name is a bit odd, but the information is very accurate, ghostmarco. The song name in Doom 2: Hell on Earth Ost(Original Soundtrack) is Bye Bye American Pie. The song was played on the level, Barrels of Fun, map 22, ghostmarco. Suiton1 should have the song on Youtube, so check it out and see if I'm wrong.

  • I've always noticed "Angry Chair" by Alice in Chains was very similar to Doom 2's level "Bloodfalls..." whichever level that was :P

  • haha i remember bloodfalls.. makes me want to go play doom 2!

  • I've never spotted that alice in chains and the 23th level plays the same melody :)

  • i knew it since the start that i played doom hahahaha still ahuge fan of doom and the bands

  • I do recall reading on Wikipedia 1-3 years ago that Metallica was definitely a source of inspiration for a few tracks.

And uh, it should be noted that 4/7 of the songs are from DooM, not strictly D00M II...

  • yeap im aware of that

  • Video's playlist! DooM E2M2-Fortress of Mystery D00M II Level 18-The Courtyard DooM E3M3-Pandemonium DooM E1M1-Hangar (hells yes) D00M II Level 23-Barrels O' Fun D00M II Level 1-Entryway DooM E2M2-Containment Area Typed off heart. (Had to look up the map numbers for 18 and 23, though.) I knew there was a lot of inspiration with the soundtrack, but I didn't know so many were that uncannily similar; Just makes it ever more awesome. I also hear a few bands straight up wrote a few songs for it.
  • very nice, good to see someone who knows their stuff!

  • @Samail666

It's actually E2M9 and E3M1..... Fortress of Mystery and Hell Keep.

  • @Imperium56

'Twas a typo, and was aware of E3M1.

  • zomfg dey stola da songs.... :D jk awsome vid 5 stars

  • lmao thanks :P

  • u deserve it ...and the level name would have been nice, but thats just a little detail keep the good work

  • yep, im open for respectable constructive criticism and you're right i really should have added more detailed research, i assure you i had researched these but at the time didnt think it mattered, oh well i know for next time

  • i appreciate ur understanding cause some people would have gone off against me just cause i tried to help them do better videos with a viewers point of view... anywho dont worry about it it was one little detail and it wasn't that big of a deal.

  • your right, becuase they asked them if they could use the tunes i read it on a doom forum :p

  • yup :P im sure they had the permissions, other videos similar to mine boast on like "OMG OMFG DEY STOLE THE SONGZ! .. just for those ignorant people out there, music piracy wasnt a threat nor problem back when doom 2 was made. thanks for the comment killa

  • Nice work man XD

  • appreciated thanks!

  • Great comparison! But E1M1 on Doom II has two ripoffs. Hangar 18 + Pull Me Under by Dream Theater. You know the kinda catchy part after the Hangar 18 part in Doom 2, that's from Pull Me Under. Because there's a keyboard stick or something, in the chorus of the song (in the background) Wich sounds fairly similiar to Doom 2.

  • good to know, i am going to revise this video soon and if u dont mind i will look into the pull me under by dream theatre and put it in the vid if it sounds the same:P

  • Oh nice! But just remember, it's some where when the guitar starts playing many notes in a row, and then in the background you can hear the Doom II E1M1 solo thing

  • Cool vid. 5*****

  • appreciated man thanks

  • I notice That. Your research is great. thanks!

  • glad you think that, and i respect the compliments, thank you!

  • I think the Call of Kthuhu or whatever is a bit of a stretch.

  • im beginning to agree with you guys

  • whoa i noticed tha same thing about ha music hahaha

  • what's the name of the song at the end of the vid??

  • platitude - bloodpit

  • Comment removed

  • I will never forget this game, I grew playing this shit! it really made me afraid of the dark when I was 7 haha, I even made a wooden BFG 9000!! rofl

    great vid, btw !

  • fuck yeah! thanks ! this video sadly had 30k+ views before i was banned, then other people started making similar videos, so im shit out of luck lol

also thanks! wooden bfg nice LOL i also grew up on this, and duke nukem.. jeez i was an old school fps master at age 5 ! between my dad and my neighbour henry they pretty much taught me how to kick ass without cheating :)

  • haha, lol! check out your youtube-mail box then.

    Cya mate!

  • what bout hangar 18 (awsum vid btw)

  • hey thanks man :) and yes, what about hangar 18?

  • fuck yea...the best of metal mixed with one of the best games ever!!!

    8====D

gives me a hard one just thinking about the two at the same time!

  • hehehe rock on

  • Well, I have known all these songs used in DooM, but still a nice vid, 5/5. Uh, btw, Doom 2 map 01 is also similar to Overkill-World of Hurt

  • thanks :P well some people dont know about them, ive put this video up almost 3 times now.. accounts kept getting banned lol

  • The songs that has always stood out in my mind are "At Dooms gate" and "through the never" by metallica. Its one of the reasons I like the song. I know its not a perfect match but everytime I hear it I makes me want to play. enjoyed the video

  • thanks, glad you did

  • Thanx man for this video.

  • glad you all like it :)

  • I love this video because I love the doom music! never new it was from real music! Thanks! hope you don't get banned!

  • If you would listen anything else besides mainstream, you would notice also that similar note combinations and effects are used quite often. You really do not have to be a genius to put 5 notes in a row. Does RIAA pay you or sth?

  • h5inz how bout suck my dick

  • Are you just so stubborn as to where you can't here things that are actually there???

  • ur just too gay to fuck off

  • Angry Chair is prettttty similar to the doom one

  • alice in chains owns

  • I loved the Doom soundtrack. No wonder, it was all thrash metal...

  • Great vid

  • you suck, banned again wtf are you doing ^^

  • enjoy i got fucking banned AGAIN
