Your dealer is breaking the law--- he cant do that and it is against the law--- you add headers and exhaust they HAVE to warranty your car--- these do nothing to affect your car in any way negatively!!!!... seriously, there is a law they have to prove that your mod created the issue... they cant for these items!!!!!!!!!! you add the turbo then I would be cautious... that I would say engine and trans are void if related to that but all other items on car are STILL COVERED....
the power gm recommended to the power train... so they can void your power train, but nothing else. They will still have to prove that you did gain any power and we both know the g8 can handle more power, but it does not matter gm said no more then 415 to the crank if you go past that they can void power train.
If you just add a new exhaust they will not void your warranty--- it doesnt effect your hop that much and they cant void your warranty.... if you add the turbo,,,, then they will void it for sure.

No they cannot deny warranty work for this bolt on stuff. It is against the law and you are protected by the law!!!!!. They could deny warranty if your Oxygen sensors go bad but nothing else!!!! They may try to deny but the law is on your side- ABSOLUTELY!!! I work for GM and know the law and what we have to warranty. Even if you mod your car more, the modifications have to somehow have caused the isse for denial... dont worry about it --- it is no issue---

@AvenueD417 Remember, that if you'd rather make it look like an SS Commodore, you only have to change a few bolt on parts. If you know anyone good with bodywork, you can even keep the hood. You just have to take of the piece that comes down to meet the split grille. I have driven them in Omega, SV6, Calais and Statesman form, and all have matched or beaten their Euro counterparts

yes it did. Its called the Firehawk and was produced by SLP just like the SS Camaro and WS6 Trans Am were. Its loaded with custom suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, paint job, and most importantly a Magnacharger TVS 1900 roots style intercooled supercharger.
thats not a production car, thats just slp slapping on a magnacharger, I'm not saying the g8 isn't a bad car, I'm actually looking at selling my ws6 to get one, since I need room that my trans am doesnt have, but still there is no production g8 with over 500 hp.
SLP made the mod as cordova said, they made a 385hp version (7,000 plus price of car) and a 500hp supercharged version (18,995 plus price of car)...both using the G8 GT only. And they are warrantied.
Sorry but you are wrong here. Pontiac made a 50cent G8 from the factory with 500 rank hp. and SLP was given rights by GM to make a few 500 Supercharged G8GT's that are currently selling. However the 50Cent version has been scrapped.

The other problem you have is the US auto unions wouldn't be too happy about it, as "imports threaten our jobs." Remember, the G8 is really an Australian designed and built Holden Commodore. I used to feel the same way when I was younger. Two-doors were the only cars for me. But really, your friends will love this car and having two extra doors make it easier for people to get in and out. Trust me, if you bought one you wouldn't even care it was a four door. What's under the hood is what matters most. You'll get a LOT of looks as you pass by. It's a great looking car. Buy one now before they're gone.

@psyclox808 All the emissions hardware on 99% of cars ends at the cats. Headers only improve the flow, and so long as your oxygen sensors are still connected and working, you shouldn't have any problems passing any emissions standards
It's got a nice authoritative growl when you first start it up but at idle it's just nice. I haven't had any complaints from the neighbors...yet. hahaha.
My local tuner here in Denver just ordered the complete exhaust system for me today. I'm hoping by next Sat. I'll be hearing some mighty sweet sounds out of my G8 GT.
I know, I know. I can't wait. The parts should be in soon. I'm hoping they'll come in no later than Friday, the tuner shop will call and I'll drop the car off that day after work, and by late Sat. I'll be enjoying some V8 rumble. I should get a cold air induction setup tomorrow from UPS and I'll have the tuner shop do an HP software tune while it's there. They'll put it on the dyno for a before-and-after. I'll let ya know what happened.
So I just got back from the tuner. On the dyno the baseline run showed 300.04 HP and 327.34 lb. ft. of torque at the rear wheel. After he installed everything I got 332.01 HP and 351.89 lb. ft. of torque. He's telling me at the crank I'm seeing 400 HP easily. It sounds great at idle and when I gun it. Windows up it sounds amazing; I can imagine what people outside are hearing. It feels a lot stronger too. I'm happy. Money well spent.

i just test drove one. they're really nice and have a surprisingly high amount of power. i didn't know they gave the g8 a monster 6.0 v8. it certainly gets you moving quickly
I know just what you mean, but I just got my new G8 and it's perfect for me. I mean, I love the big V8 vette engine and I can take out clients. I think this car if for us older types that have family and wives that wont let us get Vettes! :)

For what reason? You will gain 5hp if you are lucky but you will spend a ton of money to get it. there is no point of adding exhaust to that car. Start with a car that has a little bigger of a power plant and save your money
KooksTV i've got a question for you. I have a 2008 Chevy CR8 in Dubai (It's basically the same car), with the T-56 transmission. Do you think it would be possible to at least the cat-back system on my car? The only exhaust options I have here are the EXPENSIVE "Wortec" exhaust, or a custom built system.
With an aftermarket exhaust it is almost always not going to sound great. I have a Charger R/T and I tuned the 4 cylinder mode out, when it was all said and done I still get the same gas mileage without the MDS.

Actually the X-pipe provides a better flow because it equalizes exhaust gas pressures from both sides.

@psyclox808 All the emissions hardware on 99% of cars ends at the cats. Headers only improve the flow, and so long as your oxygen sensors are still connected and working, you shouldn't have any problems passing any emissions standards

I know, I know. I can't wait. The parts should be in soon. I'm hoping they'll come in no later than Friday, the tuner shop will call and I'll drop the car off that day after work, and by late Sat. I'll be enjoying some V8 rumble. I should get a cold air induction setup tomorrow from UPS and I'll have the tuner shop do an HP software tune while it's there. They'll put it on the dyno for a before-and-after. I'll let ya know what happened.
It's going to be awesome.

So I just got back from the tuner. On the dyno the baseline run showed 300.04 HP and 327.34 lb. ft. of torque at the rear wheel. After he installed everything I got 332.01 HP and 351.89 lb. ft. of torque. He's telling me at the crank I'm seeing 400 HP easily. It sounds great at idle and when I gun it. Windows up it sounds amazing; I can imagine what people outside are hearing. It feels a lot stronger too. I'm happy. Money well spent.

And I haven't had the HP software tune done yet. All the dyno results were only from the Kooks exhaust and RotoFab CAI.

i just test drove one. they're really nice and have a surprisingly high amount of power. i didn't know they gave the g8 a monster 6.0 v8. it certainly gets you moving quickly

For what reason? You will gain 5hp if you are lucky but you will spend a ton of money to get it. there is no point of adding exhaust to that car. Start with a car that has a little bigger of a power plant and save your money

KooksTV i've got a question for you. I have a 2008 Chevy CR8 in Dubai (It's basically the same car), with the T-56 transmission. Do you think it would be possible to at least the cat-back system on my car? The only exhaust options I have here are the EXPENSIVE "Wortec" exhaust, or a custom built system.

With an aftermarket exhaust it is almost always not going to sound great. I have a Charger R/T and I tuned the 4 cylinder mode out, when it was all said and done I still get the same gas mileage without the MDS.
