ok sister how could someone loose weight with this pudding...with all that sugar added to it? sorry but i have to ask questions...and want answers please..thanks
@maby2980 :) The sugar is unrefined dates that have all the nutrition (potassium, magnesium, fiber, etc) that we need to make good use of the sugar. It is only refined sugar that is the problem. You may be aware of the fact that if a person were to eat only raw sweet fruit they would lose weight, right? Well, dates are the same way. My body would get fat if I were to eat lots of refined sugar, I know the difference by experience and science. :) The short answer---nutrition.
This is brilliant! I usually make my vegan pudding using tofu, but quinoa is so much more nutritious and better for you.
I'm not sure if there's a reason you cook your quinoa this way--but to save time (and electricity), I use my pressure cooker. 1 3/4 water to 1 cup quinoa and 5 minutes of pressure cooking on the "low" setting (if your cooker has a control knob) then remove from the flame and let the pressure escape on its own. Voila!
Which one, the one above? You're right though, it is best to copy it beforehand. I sometimes do if I remember too, but I don't always. I should make a note to remember that as it makes it so much easier, haha. A cheque option sounds much easier! If they still do, when I have the money if I still want to, I can maybe try that, thanks! I will let you know though for sure when I try how it goes. I have a feeling it will be a challange but fun too :-D. Peace
:-S I don't know what happened to my original comment - very strange! It said it was posted twice, so I removed one of them, now it's completely gone. Sorry about that...ah, computers!
Alright, well that's perfect for me anyway as I like them less smooth if there is any grain involved, (yes, as with rice or tapioca puddings, nice & more hearty I think). So that sounds yummy :-). If a pudding is meant to be smoother I often add nuts to make it more crunchy & also for extra nutrition. I guess I could consider the phone option too if I want a VitaMix, but I don't have a credit card. Thank you again.
@FlowersClouds Is this the missing comment? I know what you mean about losing messages and then ending up with two. lol That has happened to me too. I now copy my note before I post it, just in case. There is also the paying by check option with Vita Mix. They used to (and may still) take 4 payments and buy it over time. I'm not sure how that works.
Let me know how, or if it works making it by hand. :)
@FlowersClouds I have never tried mixing it by hand but I guess you could. It may not be as smooth as the Vita Mix makes it but then rice and Tapioca puddings are not smooth. It is worth a try. :)
Yes, Vita Mix has an 800 number you can call to place an order. The number is 1-800-848-2649 (1-800-vitamix). You can get the free shipping if you give them the shipping code number 06-004925.

Have you ever tried just making a vanilla flavor?

@chezsuzie That sounds like a great time saver. I will have to try that.
No I haven't tried vanilla but that sounds delicious. Have you?

Haven't tried the vanilla yet, that's definitely on the agenda for next time, though!

I know the recipe sounds really odd but it is delicious. My dad and I finished it off yesterday.
