While we all know about the poor standard of the current Canto pop music, Jacky was answering the situation very tactfully. He did not bluntly attack the lack of depth, talent and hard work in the business, he said (see 3 of 3) the current situation has given the opportunities for more quality singers who have passed their prime to launch themselves into another phase of their careers.
He knows what he's talking about! The quality of Hong Kong's music has dropped tremendously. The young stars rely wholly on packaging and not talent. The songs have predictable chords and melody. Typical karaoke music.

@graceyce totally agree!!! I can't listen to those young stars... to be honest, it's torturing listening to those "young" songs!
