  • PERSONALLY I DONT GIVE A DAMN WHAT YEAR IT WAS!!! AM TOO BUSY OGGLING JJ LOL.

  • 1993 my foot! Obviously not a stranglers fan. You ought to have known that Hugh Cornwall left in 1990.

  • It's 1983 they were promoting Aural Sculpture and I am old enough to remember watching it first time round on the tube. Have to say this was not the best rendition of WWTW they did. The mix was tinny back in 1983 hasn't got better with age. Still, good to see this stuff 30 almost years on.

  • yes please jj !!!!

  • saw them 3 weeks ago at the weyfest in surry a couple of weeks ago they were wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jasonofjersey

I was there and it was amazing !

  • Thank you for posting this. Arguments aside - it was 1983, the poster made a typo, easy thing to do.

Keninblack thinks there must be more footage available. Found European Female on here (many thanks for posting), but I'm train spottery - you don't ship Dave's full keyboard setup to do The Tube for 2 songs unless there is more......

  • @keninblack I thought the hairdos at the beginning looked out of place.

  • @TonyBranston - Aye, and some!!!!

  • The Tube ran from 1982-87...I watched them all on a Friday evening...it's defo 1983...best band to grace this earth!

  • that wasnt 93 that wa in the eighties because hugh cornwall left 1990 his last gig was at the alley palley

  • how can it be 1993 when hugh left in 90

  • My least favorite era of the many phases of The Stranglers. I mean if they only did this kind of music they never would have lasted as long as they have and would not be considered such bad asses in my book!

  • renenber buying this single for 79 pence

  • Hugh said this was one of his favourite songs. However, this could not have been 1993 as Deltaturbo has mistakenly said. Hugh had long left the band by then and the Tube had been off the air for many years by '93.

    I think it's nearer '81.

  • combatrocks is speaking the truth and i would say around 81 too...i remember the tube....eeeh they were the days lol

  • Check out the clothes and the fact that it's the tube and I think you'll find this is 83

  • take \_ME_/ as

  • that keyboard player was mighty! fantastic live band one of the best!

  • try spelling first mate. then we may take you or yourselfs a bit seriously. fanny baws. time for a brain change pal .. FUCK OFF ???

  • fuckign super speedy greenfield..top

    !

  • hugh needs the stranglers .....the stranglers need hugh nuff said

  • Hugh can't stand being around JJ Burnel so a reunion will never happen. It's probably the reason he left in the first place.

  • If a reunion is going to happen it'll have to be sooner rather than later as I'm not sure Jet will be able to keep going much longer sadly.

But even if a reunion never happens I just wish they'd all just bury the fucking hatchet. The hostility between both camps is incredibly annoying. Part of what made the Stranglers story intriguing was the siege mentality they all seemed to have together in the early days...the way it's turned between Hugh and the others is just sad.

  • Couldn't agree more. In fact I stop listening after 'Ten'. Complete Bollocks after Hugh Left!!

  • Word!

  • Hugh, no good without The Stranglers, Stranglers, average without Hugh. Sort it out guys.

  • I agree

  • I think this is one of their best singlers.Such a pity it wasn't a

    hit

  • Who Wants the World, yeah bay-bee

  • This is from their 1983 appearance at the Tube. Good stuff!

  • Great vid although it can't have been 1993 seeing as Hugh is still in the band (although I wish he was still in the band)...I suspect that is just a typo on your part though.

Full marks for posting this anyway, brilliant performance.
