@boilingpoint2 With an 8Ltr engine, the Hp are of little importance, that thing has torque like nothing else...fuel consumption not far off a Tiger Tank as well.
@boilingpoint2 Well it's so politically incorrect that I like it as well...in any case it's the largest engine capacity ever to have run at Le Mans, and probably will stay that way with all the ECO stuff going around lately.
@Orvieta you're right but if you ask me i don't care, this is no-sence to say this is not a "eco-car"
A plane flying Paris to New york will pollute very much more than the whole 24H of le mans.
And as say the man who invite me to take a little trip in his Viper : "that must burnout, that must smoke, the consumption : I don't care, it's made for !"
With the new coming and developing S7R's, 550's, C5-R's, the viper got outdated quicker. As an original GT2 car Oreca got the car maxed out in 2000 running it as a works team. French FFSA GT helped the many french viper teams from 2002-2006 and got the car a bit quicker to keep up with the new cars. It even won races still. Up to the point even the newer GT1's came racing there. The DBR-9, C6-R's and Oreca's updated Saleen's where way to good for them. A pity I never got to see one racing...
Yea, the Viper is nice. They should introduce the latest Viper in Le Mans. For a Corvette/Viper battle... Wait, that would be Corvette/Aston Martin/Viper battle. But, I do think the C5R and the C6R is faster than this Viper GTSR
he say 650hp at 6700rpm ! amazing

Le journaliste devrait se taire ! Il parle trop, il se répète, et nous empêche d'entendre le bruit du moteur !

the Viper GTS-R is also more production-based than the C6.R and later C5-Rs

But, that would mean it really wouldn't be an Aston/Vette/Viper battle if the Viper was introduced into the GT2 class...
I bet it's still fast, though

im a corvette fan but i think the vipers might give a run for their money thanks to the ALMS's restrictions on the fastest cars
