Is this a fake BareNakedLadies band? Cover band? The bassist looks like the original guy but who is that dude on the far left singing, where is the guy with the cool sideburns?

@FindMeInKurume if your talking about steven page, he left the band i think 2 years ago. He wanted to perform with his own band but before he left the barenaked ladies and him signed an agreement so ed and the others could still use the name Barenaked Ladies and play the same songs and stuff

Hmmm...I've seen BNL live once since Steve left and heard several recordings of $1,000,000 and it's just not as good...I love Kev and he certainly has his own style that works in the songs he writes, but he just can't hold a candle to Steven's voice. I really think they should just retire this song and move in a new direction.

@TheseApples I totally understand what you mean, but if they don't play these songs, casual fans will be pissed. To someone like you and I, it will not be a big deal, but a lot of people go just to hear songs like this, One Week, Old Apartment, ect.

@BarenakedLadiesLive It's true, and it's getting harder and harder for bands to reinvent themselves these days. Interestingly, I heard Jimmy sing Maybe Katie and he was brilliant! I think they should feature him more for Steve's old parts. Like I said, Kev does great in the songs that he writes but his voice just doesn't match Steve's.

@BarenakedLadiesLive I have to say, casual fans wont be pissed if they go a differant direction, because honestly listening to them sing the original songs pisses me off.. It is just not the same. Those of us who like the original songs just wont be going to any new concerts because it is NOT the same BNL without Steven Page . What I mean is they are losing the fan base with the current shows. I have been to see BNL over 4 times and have every record.

@BarenakedLadiesLive I know I will not spend any money on their new stuff without Steven Page. BNL is my FAVORITE band hands down, but they are just not BNL with Steven. And Steven Page is not the same without BNL. I wish there was something that could be done to get this band back together again. I am not bashing Kev in any way, Im just saying its not the same..

@lpaqman The casual fans who just know the hits probably don't even know about the Steve situation. At the 3 concerts I went to, not a single person had anything bad to say. Everyone was up and dancing during the hits. I think its much different actually being there than hearing the songs on youtube.

I love this. But I don't like the way the conversations in it are basically adverts for Gain. I understand that this was done for Gain, and would most probably have never happened if it weren't for Gain, but I can't help but feel that it could have been better had it just been rerecorded without being linked to the contest.

Either way, I still love it, and Kev is hilarious in it. xD

@BNLL Ah, I never said anything about their live shows.. And I have seen them live, and they are awwwwesome! My 'critique' was about this video.... If it's the "par" joke you are talking about, then you should know, the best game you can have is when you come in "below par". Oh, and next time they come anywhere near my neck of the backwoods of WA, I'll be one of the first in line for tix.
