  • ok what do you do after it says "check disk drive"

  • @mashersmasher check disk drive usually means a hardware problem, like a bad disk or a bad drive. The drive should stop spinning, at which point, you can change disks. Most likely a bad disk. Might need to be remade.

  • Hi , after deleting bootcamp partition i started to have a prob on each start of my mac , so now i recive a black screen (no boot disk bla bla bla) , i have to start with holding the option key for almost 5 seconds to choose the icon for Mac drive to boot properly , what to do boot normaly ?

  • @arafetkanso this is totally off topic, FYI, but I think I can help you.

Go into system preferences in Mac OS X, go into the Startup Disk panel, and select the "Mac OS X, 10.x on [hard drive name, buy default, it is "Macintosh HD"]". just by clicking on it sets it up, but from here you can click restart to test it out.

You may have also just formatted the partition rather than deleted it, IDK, no intel mac in my arsenal. But try the first option first.

  • I've got one too! I guess I'm at least over four thousand miles away from your homeplace. I live here in Finland (between Sweden and Russia). My first Apple was an Apple II plus clone made somewhere in China. After that one I upgraded to the Apple //c. I guess it was around 1988 or 1989 when I got it.

  • Does your version use icons next to the lights and buttons? My version is US with QWERTY and DVORAK layouts. The lights and buttons on mine are labeled in English. Power is labeled power, disk labeled disk use, the keyboard switch is labeled keyboard (obviously), and I don't think they changed the 80/40 switch on the iconed ones.

  • Brings a tear to my eye hearing that beautiful beep and clicking boot-up noise again :').

I have an Apple //c that won't boot anymore. I think my power supply is shot.

  • Yes, it is a thing of beauty. I am surprised it still works after nearly a quarter of a century. I wonder if there will be as big a hubbub when it turns 25 next month as the Mac had back in January.

It might be the PS, but those things are not cheap. I am lucky I have a working example.
