if this is the OLD touch the HTC Elf, then yes it was slow, remember this is a video it can be slowed down on purpose and he misses on purpose. anyways the newer touch enhanced (HTC Elfin) is way faster. I have a Sprint Touch (HTC Vogue) and love it. All the new 3rd party software is so fun and amazing compared to the iPhone. I even have the Iphone apps launcher on my phone now with 6-sided cube instead of 3. Also the newer HTC home today plugin now has 5 tabs instead of the 3 shown here.

Touches don't work right half the time, video and internet connections are A-W-E-F-U-L-L-Y S-L-O-W, the guy uses his fingernails and taps on teeny tiny icons and menus and the keyboard is awful and non standard!!
This & every other HTC Touch video I've seen convince nobody but the company and a few early adopters; most of these will undoubtedly switch to the real thing when available...

I don't expect to have any problems using Meebo dot com either. Maybe this is eye-opening for you, but I'm sure a lot of people interested in the iPhone already know this stuff. I can keep any of these bookmarked and open indefinitely in a tab.

please do not give people WRONG information... the software of the new HTC Touch is made by HTC and NOT by microsoft!
I have a qtek(htc) 9100 (same hardware) and yes indeed, he can be very slow when a lot of applications are opened and running in the background.

I'm disappointed in HTC. They have made loads of great phones, but this one just seems rushed, it has a slow processor, and doesn't support HSDPA ?

It's not meant to compete with the iPhone. It's just a skinned Windows Mobile device and HTC has no problem admitting it.
I don't see how it's lightyears behind the iphone though, considering you can't even get an instant messenger on the iPhone at all.

Just like the fact that HTC is selling it first in Europe because Apple's offering won't be there for around 6 more months.
And then such prominent site as JKOnTheRun dot com is running a poll to gather opinions about precisely those two devices.
