  • Hi I am on my 4th tray (week 7-8) and I still do not see any changes, I have the same type of gap as you do and was wondering how your teeth look now? It seems to be taking so long and I am very anxious.

  • I'm glad you said the first is the worst! I'm on day 5 of the first and I'm still in quite a lot of pain! I've got quite a high pain threshold too!

    Glad it gets better!

Good to see it worked for you too!

  • isn't it annoying to take out Invisalign braces before every meal and put it back on after?

  • i have a gap too and want invisalign verrrrry badly! my parents are trying to get me to settle for braces because its waay cheaper. but i'm 16 and in high school and i dont want people to notice. adults keep trying to tell me that braces are better and invisalign dont work, but after seeing your videos, i know that there is hope (: lol thanks i hope i can get them now

  • @412xfinestt...WOW, that is the best news I've heard all day. Glad I could help. Invisalign really does work. There is a new Teen Invisalign available, but I'm not sure what the difference is. The trays are definitely a responsibility. You have to brush and floss every time you eat something, which may be hard for you to do at school, but it depends on how you manage your lunch hour. Traditional braces don't allow you to "mess up" because you can't take them out (or lose them..lol)

  • my invisalign is on the way. i have to wait like 5 more weeks. ugh.

  • how much are u paying for them??

  • it was 5500

well, my mom had insurance that covered a 300 some dollar panorex (basically, an xray of your mouth).

then, a company took over the hospital she worked at and the next appointment i had a different insurance that covered 1200 dollars. then we got a 5% discount for paying in cash, and a 300 dollar discount for a promotion my ortho had. so we ended up paying like 3700. not bad.

  • can you chew gum

  • @allpeople123 ..u can't chew with the trays in your mouth. Even though I knew this already, I tried it...lol. The gum gets stuck to the trays and then you have to take them out and scrape all the goo off. No gum unless you take your braces out. The way I look at it you're paying thousands of dollars for straight teeth, gum is a small sacrifice.

  • thats wierd how it makes ur gap look smaller thats great 4 me wen i get them lol yay!!!

  • wow your lucky! i have to wait a while to get mine :|

  • me too.! :(

  • let me third that lol

  • me too!

  • you are such a sweetheart!

you're really good at these blogs haha.

    good luck!

I had to get SEVEN attachments on my bottom row and two on the top.

it's kinda difficult getting the bottom row off without pain.

    you seem really nice!

    haha. best of luuuuuuck!!

  • @sakurahinata44 ..7 attachments, wow. Believe me it will all be worth it. I have a permanent retainer now and am going through the whitening phase (which was included in my price). I used Colgate Total the whole time and my teeth whitened so well that they told me that I didn't need to do the whitening (they use Opalescence). I'm doing it anyway! lol...Gotta get my money's worth!!!

  • ok. i saw your blog with the before pics! Thanks!

Does anyone know of insurance that you can get that helps cover the cost of braces or invaslign?

  • @unicqueky ..Not sure about insurance but some offices offer a line of credit to help you pay them.

  • what are the attachments? ..the ones you were pointing to? I dont know much about invaslign, but I have really spacey teeth and I'm hoping these can help. Do you have any before pics? Most of the people I see with invisalign have minor adjustments that need to be made to their teeth. I'd like to see some major adjustments with these.

    Anyway, thanks!!

  • Nice lips!

  • ive had regular braces top and bottom since september of 2007, day after homecoming lol, and ive only had 1 cut from them and never broken off a bracket, im not sure but i think im on final wire for my bottoms

  • Haha your a crackup. Ive just gotten my impressions and amd waiting (really impatiently) for my trays! I don't know ANYONE has had invisaligns (i'm from New Zealand)so your blogs and everyone elses are awesome.

    Hope it all goes well!

  • OMG, waiting is the hardest thing! My wait was 1 month between impressions and viewing my ClinCheck. After that I had to wait for the aligners to come in, which was another 2 weeks. Then I started waiting to get to the next set of trays every two weeks. Ah, the joys of Invisalign. 6 months and counting...

  • you are improving, what a great smile.

  • @baulhead ..ur gonna love the results. I hope it goes well for you.

  • No no, I meant my aligner lol. Sorry!!!!! Yeah i know i have tons of them it took 2 hours lol

  • Right now it kinda cut my tongue but i like it, plus my friend just dropped my bottom in the toliet. I had to scrub it with toothpaste like A MILLION times it was sooooooo gross.

  • Umm...I'm pretty sure your attachments AREN'T supposed to be popping off in the toilet. lol.. Eww! And how in the world??? lol.

Your doc is gonna have to bond it back to your tooth. It should be glued on there pretty tight, and it isn't supposed to come off. The button kind of acts like traditional braces: they are bonded to the teeth like the square metal brackets and the aligners take the place of the metal wire that runs across the row of teeth, moving the teeth where they should go.

  • i don't have any insurance and my teeth don't really have much to improve ( just some small minor imperfections) like yours. i wondr how much does it cost. and do you have to pay. And since you said theirs pressure was it hard to sleep at night with them, did it give u headaches or some pain, or is it not that bad?

  • i got my first trays today, I have a hell of alot attachment on. 8 on the top, and 10 on the bottom. The bottom are hard to get on and off but the tops are easy.

  • Just hang in there. It will get easier as the days go by--but you'll find it hard to stay out of the mirror. :)

  • Great information, keep up your good work

  • Thank you for the encouragement!

  • did they hurt when you get them on.

what all do they do when you get invisalign?

  • 1.Consult then dental molds & pics sent to Align Tech.

    2. You see the computer model of your treatment & Dr. approves aligners to be made.

It took about a month & half in all for me...

1st trays hurt the most because that's when your teeth start moving. After about 4 days it subsided for me. On the next set (in 2 weeks) my teeth were only sore for about 2 days. Once the trays are in its fine, but when you take them out to eat & put them back in it hurts for a min. or so then goes away.
