Macs can instantly convert these videos "get_video" to Quicktime using iSquint. Faster on a Mac, and works smoothly.

Honestly though, how do you convert a "video.flv" from Youtube? It's considered unreadable on both PCs and Macs ( Get_Video and Video.flv are two different video types) They are readable by Realplayer but not compatabl with Quicktime, ipod, Windows Media, etc...

By the way, when converting get_video files, you don't have to add the .flv at the end :)

Just use Windows Media Player classic. It's a lot easier and you don't have to install anything. Or you can look up Klite codec pack and it bundles WMPclassic with a bunch of really useful codecs.

I have a huge probelm!!! I am using Windows XP, i am not the administrator so i can't install adobe flash player 9. I am able to download youtube videos and other online videos but in order to watch them i have to convert them, it takes from 3 to 4 hours!!! So can sum1 pls help me! I want to add titles and credits to my video but when i used windows movie maker it wasnt as good video quality, cuz it was in wmv format, so i converted it to avi with mediacoder and no change. How can i do this? can i add titles in virtualdub..(titles as in what jimmyrcom has at the begining of his videos. Not that advanced of one, but ya..

Might be a little bit off topic,but I've been meaning to ask,have you enabled "ClearType" to sharpen the fonts?It will improve how letters look in your videos,or maybe you already have,I'm not sure,but I still think it should look better.

clear type is not clear, It's blurred! It anti-aliases the fonts. It gives me a headache.

cool...but for the record...you can go change the extension to .avi or .wmv instead of .flv and get the same thing...the only thing is...it opens in media player

only if you have ffdshow tryouts as your codec, otherwise it can't parse the flv. It's better to right click - open with and select a program. Otherwise you're just forging the extension.
