(got anything that Is to that song though?) Funny thing, the '1812 Overture' is in fact MUCH longer than the bit used in V for Vendetta btw. Even fit in the YT time limit??
@Goth131 Chris: The Russians burned Moskau down, because they wanted Napoleon to die. He burned everything on the way to Moskau down and it was winter. The Russians knew they couldn´t save Moskau so they burned it down in hope Napoleon would be killed because of this or he and his army would die because of hunger or coldness. Because on the way back weren´t any houses or any food anymore the biggest part of Napoleon´s army died. But he survived.
@TheNaturefreaks no..its wrong russians waited 6th army for rebuild form South but Napoleon was 2 close...to Moscow...so....Russians never give up...they burned Moscow...than push Napoleon back after week...His army was smashed afrer month...
Wow! That was really good! Made me feel like I was watching a trailer for an epic movie!! Hmm... I consider 1812 to be the year of fire... Though, i cant' remember, the whitehouse got burned too that year right? Hmm or was it the year after... Sigh, not the best at history! Don't kille me for it!! *hides* But I do remember Napoleon! Woo, was he ambitious! But Russia is to smart for him!! ^_^
This was so cool! But I don't really understand the APH Mad videos, do they just cover random parts of the countries histories or are they part of a series of a sort? Or follow a plot?
russians had to burn up their own capital in order to save europe and maybe the world. 129 years later: the "thankful" europeans invade russia in order to take moscow.
Wow this is amazing o__o It's like so epic! # 1 mistake of people trying to conquer the world (or Europe at least) always seems to be invading Russia XD It never goes well for them.
From the ashes of the old city will rise a new utopia for the Russian people.(Only to be taken back by the angered Russian bourgeoisie in the October Revolution)
2:30 - 3:02 is definitely the most epic part. I can just see the Russians torching their homes unseen while the French are milling about confusedly and attempting unsuccessfully to put the fires out. Hoorah my fellow comrades. You're sacrifice has not been forgotten. Ни шагу назад, товарищи.
This was awesome! I love how you were able to depict what the countries were going through during that time plus I learned more about history! You should make more of this! ;)
@TheArtemZ Hey, calm down... I've seen way worse videos than this one. In fact, I actually love how the creator depicted that point in history through the art and choice of music, and being Russian myself, approve very much. You can think what you want, but please be a wee bit nicer about it and not claim that they're a troll. Like, "Hey, this isn't really my favorite video because blah blah blah etc." or better yet, nothing at all. :D Thanks~
@TheArtemZ That's perfectly fine if you don't. But calling people trolls for creating something, putting their heart into it, and posting it for the world to see on it isn't really cool... Just for future reference. :)
@angeliukaslips Whoa, that's some interesing stuff. I think he would, besides he kept his promise with other countries (though their independence didn't last so long due to the fact he lost the war...).
Well, if you got your hand trapped without escaping, rather cut it off than risk your life. Not a perfect metaphor for the event, but I happened to remember it when I watched the video.
I guess Ivan didn't want to become one with France....
Хороший клип:) Но строения и дома Москвы изображены не правильно. В 1812 году в Москве еще не было кремлевских курантов и красной звезды, таких многоэтажных домов тоже не было. Были деревянные строения, поэтому так хорошо горело! :))))))
Moscow's been burned a few times in war. My history teacher (who was part Russian) used to say if Germany had gotten to Moscow in 1941, the same thing would have happened to them.
Russia is always brave and strong. When German went to Moscow in 1941,there was the 24 years anniversaries military parade for Russian Oct. Revolution. Thousands of young people directly went to the battlefield after the parade. 514,338 soldiers died only in the Moscow battle during 1941.9-1941.12 and they eventually stopped Germany. I think Russia is the hero for Europe in wwII.
@Sidnere1 I have heard. Too bad you didn't hear about what I said.
Japan and Germany were the side which attacked, they were aggressors. Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania weren't looking for fight with anybody, they were victims of this war.
If anyone's calling Russia a hero for Europe, it means he's neither ignorant or stupid.
If it were not for the Soviet Union - now there aren’t the Poles and Ukrainians and Lithuanians ... But of course you're right - Europe is eternal enemy of Russia, and of course, the victory of Russia is the loss of Europe.
That was too epic for words, I love you drew France! Scratch that, I love how you portray all the characters. The pictures convey alot of raw emotion and they're beautiful! :D
This pleases me so !! A great historical video about an actual event :D It was done epically too, I may add. I've never seen a video made on the burning before :D Thank you so much ^^
Can someone tell me what music is used in this video? I love the music in the beginning and throughout the thing, sends shivers down my spine...! It just fits so well!
Oh, and this video was awesome, by the way - can't believe I forgot to say that - such gorgeous art work and really fascinating historical event! :D Loved it!!
Video perfectly conveys the atmosphere of this war. Looking at the defeat of France, could not help smiling. Looking at the smiling Russia evoking small children, smiling himself. When you look at the faces of Russian soldiers - the skin shivers run. Excellent fearless men and cute and brave girl.
Both Canada for burning down the white house when America wanted to 'become' one with him and also for America burning down his Palament (I know I fail at spelling) and Russia for having the guts to burn down his own city down to keep Napoleon, thus keeping that perv France, away from him are made out of pure win.
Keep making more of your videos pleeeeease. =D I love them so much. Your videos astound me. This video honestly helped me so much in my history test. xD
there is some mistakes in this video. in 1:53 there is a wrong russian flag) and the clothing of that time in Russia was more like french(russian aristocracy was crazy about France then) but i really enjoyed watching this video^^ i love you for showing this epic part of russian history ^3^
Russian winter has helped, but their love for the motherland has helped them more. They burned all Moscow, that she had not inherited the French troops. In the French troops began the hunger and moroderstvo. Then Russian troops drove the French from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the rest of Europe. They gave the most expensive-to Moscow, but won!
@Chiblik hem...hmmm what the hell? What winter? Napoleon was pushed away from Russia during AUTUMN. Open the history book, please. Stories about "General Frost (Moroz)" are bullshit.
Frosts began only when the battle near Berezina starts. At this time Napoleon's army had already been pushed back to the border of Russia. After that battle, they just ran away.
Yes, it was because the US refused to stop trading with France, who England was at war with. France was pretty much fighting everyone at that point... the war of 1812 was a big deal for us, we got our white house burned down, but the British actually had other things on their mind at the time... like how to stop Napoleon from invading England. But really America should have helped France more, after all they helped us with our revolution...
First off I find the fact that France invaded Russia sort of funny. I mean, you would think they'd still be flattered that Peter I of Russia "westernized" Russia based on all that he had learned in France. Anyway, I believe it was Fyodor Rostopchin who ordered that Moscow be burned, and after the second battle of Polotsk on Oct. 18-20, Napoleon retreated.
This is great though, I've just started this chapter in History class, and I must admit, I wish I could draw like you.
@Chiikiyo I actually had to watch a movie about Napoleon yesterday for my class; around this time Napoleon had started to kinda turn into a megalomaniac but also he needed supplies because of the British blockade...plus the Russians didn't fight how the French had hoped for, the further the French advanced, the more the cossaks would shoot and burn down all the towns they French would pass through. In the end they got the asses kicked, had some canibalism and ran home in defeat.
I really love this video...but one question...but wouldn't one's capital count as a vital region so if Ivan burned it down....does that mean that he destroyed his own vital region? xD

Isn't the year 1812 was the year that the British invade our U.S, colonies again?
lilkanguru 2 years ago
We declared war on the British actually. He was the first president to declare war, actually, because the british were interfering with our trade.
iwillhaverevenge 2 years ago

Ha! When we were to learn the next day in History that "France invaded Russia", my first thought was "Blasphemy!!"

Toabin 2 years ago 2
Wasn't it England that burned down the capital, not Canada?
Kaorichan92 2 years ago
It was Canada, but the Americans like to say it was the British because TECHNICALLY we weren't Canada until 1867.

I really love this video...but one question...but wouldn't one's capital count as a vital region so if Ivan burned it down....does that mean that he destroyed his own vital region? xD
....
=3= Yeah....great vid! 8D
