Yah, there are really disgusting hotels. The one that I went to wasn't cheap but it was convenient in town. It was musty, smelly(urine odor), moldy, moist, old, dirty, the bed felt itchy and the shower curtain had blood stain on it. Yuck, I couldn't sleep all night. We moved out the next morning.

I once stayed in a hotel in San Jose, CA and it was the worst experience of my life! The first room that they gave me had someone staying there already. There was still a half-eaten pizza in the microwave and who knows how long its been there. Plus, the curtains fell down on me when I was closing it to go to sleep. Why are hotels so gross...Haha.

Yeah my aunt hates the Ramada hotel chain. Hyatt hotels definitely have better everything. My family stayed at different Hyatts in different places and compared to other hotels, they definitely have better standings and they are consistent with the good things about their hotels. I def. suggest you try out Hyatt hotels next time you travel !

I've had my share of disgusting hotels, i remember one in cali called budget suites.. WOW.. It was so awful.. to start it off, the couch was wet, the floor was sticky, there were ants EVERYWHERE, it smelled like smoke (and was supposed to be smoke free.. yay?) and get this, there was a DISTRESSED BIRD in the air vent.. im not even kidding.. it was just rattling in there.. i would say more but i'm running out of characters :( lol

good idea that you didn't stay there. last year i booked a hotel in texas and i was forced to stay there because it was like the only hotel available for MILES! anyhow. i slept on the chair because i felt BUGS on the bed! yea, it was awful i left at 430 am the next day with little to no sleep.

hey holly, be sure to stay the Drake Hotel in Chicago. there you won't find any complaints whatsoever, it's the best hotel that i've been in a while. The service is great and you'll love the food, atmosphere, design etc.

hotels/motels are awful anyway no matter thier ratings, the comforters are some of the nastiest things ever, up to 800 different "male fluids" have been found at 5 star hotels when a group tested them a few years back...never lay on them. I always bring lysol spray or go buy some when i get to location (when i fly) and fumagate my hotel rooms. eww my skin is crawling now lol

LOL, i stayed at that hotel once. I checked in at around 12 midnight, it was a long day. took a look at the room and walked the fuck back out and told them i saw a rat in the room and got my money back. then drove for another 30 mins to doubletree :)

i didnt see a rat nor did i see any bugs (i wasnt in the room long enough). it just looked filthy so i wasnt going to stay there.
