The budget WAS balanced. The state is not $4 billion in debt; it was, at most, $1.75 billion in debt - and that was because the Republicans forced the elimination of the SBT in an election year without proposing a plan to replace it (which also lowered the state's credit rating and increased the interest we had to pay on bonds). Had they not done that, the budget situation would have been fine.

No wonder our Governor doesn't realize that raising taxes on corporations not only kills jobs but also increases the price of goods and services to the end consumer. Corporations don't pay the tab, it gets passed on to the consumers. At least that's what my economics professors taught, at an accredited university.
